Reeve waited until Gael and Cecily had removed Teaghan before he allowed himself to let Cameron go. The worm just dropped like a bag of potatoes. "Do you understand just what kind of trouble you're in?"
"I'm the Alpha of this pack! You have no rights here. I still don't understand why you're here in the first place," Cameron yelled still using the wall for support as he caught his breath.
Reeve backed up a few steps then stopped, "I'm here because I was called here. I have the right to protect those who can't protect themselves and above all, I protect my mate."
It took longer than it should have for Cameron to finally recognize what he said. "Mate? Who is your mate? I haven't done a damn thing to her."
Reeve wasn't surprised that he most likely hadn't heard a word he had said while he held him against the wall just moments ago. Cameron was probably too busy trying to breathe to register any of his words.
"Teaghan is my mate."
Cameron's eyes nearly popped out of his head but the shocked expression was quickly gone and in it's place a look of annoyance and pity. "I feel sorry for you being shackled to that one. She has a mouth and an attitude problem. She doesn't listen or obey authority. Honestly, she could use a better punishment."
The more Cameron spoke the more fury rose within Reeve. He had tried to tamper it down. He was afraid of killing Cameron when he really didn't want to or mean to, but the way Cameron spoke made the consequences seem well worth it.
Without a second more of hesitation, Reeve curled his fist and slammed it into Cameron's midsection stealing the very breathe from him. Reeve straightened while Cameron tried to curl in on himself.
"You aren't ready to be Alpha. With the attitude problem you have, I'm not sure if you will ever be ready. You're old enough to know that you're doing nothing more than bullying those around you."
When Cameron started to straighten again, Reeve sent another well-placed fist making Cameron go down on one knee. "You see the basic's of every good Alpha are; never betray your pack, a mate from another pack is to be respected as such."
Reeve ignored Cameron as he gasped for air, he paced in front of him, watching him. "If anyone from an allianced pack harms another's mate, the spouse has the rights to fight and if desired and the situation calls for it, kill the offender."
Reeve stopped right in front of Cameron and when the little worm decided to just stay down, Reeve reached down and grabbed the front of his shirt and hauled him to his feet.
With anger, Reeve slammed Cameron into the wall and growled in his face. "Do you have any idea what I can do to you? What rights I have to do whatever it is that I want to you? I don't think it's sunk in quite yet. Just how much shit you've brought on yourself for being so damn greedy and selfish."
"I-I'm sorry!" Cameron wimpered, his whole body trembling.
Reeve let his extended canines show, grabbing Cameron by the jaw and forcing him to look at his face. "You're sorry? I don't think you are Cameron. I think the minute I leave you'll be back to your old self. Bullying women, forcing your authority onto them."
Cameron tried to shake his head, but Reeve's hand prevented it. "No? I don't believe you. You had my mate chained like an animal!" Just the mental image brought out a roar from Reeve.
He yanked Cameron and quickly chained him in the same way he had seen Teaghan. "I'm going to show you exactly what you've done to my mate. Perhaps being put in her shoes you'll have a new perspective to look at."
Reeve didn't bother talking anymore. He laid into Cameron, pulling punches only when the rage didn't consume him so much that he could actually think clearly.
Reeve was prepared to sock him again when arms wrapped around him and pulled him away. Gael's voice penetrating the rest of the rage.
"Alpha! You'll kill him!"
Gael hung on to his Alpha until he felt his body relax. It wasn't a whole lot, but it was enough for Gael to know that his Alpha was now thinking more clearly. Gael looked to Cameron and inwardly flinched at his polverized face.
"How's Teaghan?"
"Sean patched her up. She has some deep bruising so even with our faster healing rates she'll still be sore for at least a day or two. She's a fighter."
Reeve felt beyond relieved. He looked to Cameron and frowned, he had gotten carried away. "Take him down and just leave him there. I didn't break anything so he'll heal in time."
Reeve didn't wait to watch Cameron be taken down. He wanted out of the tome and wanted to see Teaghan for himself. When he got outside, he looked down at himself and grimaced. He should shower and change before visiting his mate. He'd hate to upset her more than she probably already was.
