Chapter 17

It takes a while for me to start walking after him but I do in the end. As much as I hate it I need him. I don't know the way and there's no one I can ask it from. I need to get to Mora as fast as possible to warn the Resistance. They need to know.

I walk a few steps behind Adam. I have no intention to get close to him. It bothers me that he's leading right now but I have no choice. I don't know the way.

I glare at his back and keep my mouth shut until the hard rain turns into little drops and he stops.

"We'll camp here for the night. Stay here. I'll fetch some wood to make a fire." He doesn't even turn to face me as he says it. He just expects me to obey as he walks away.

I locate a fallen tree trunk and sit on it. Ven looks at me for a few seconds before shaking out the water in his fur and walking into the woods, the opposite direction of where Adam went.

I look at where he disappeared. Where did he go?

"What a surprise!" I jump out of my seat and turn around to look at the owner of the voice. It's a man. Tall and slim with dyed purple hair. I say dyed because the ends of his hair are purple while the roots are a light blond.

"The Phoenix," his endless black eyes turn to me. "And the Fallen," he looks at where Adam has gone to. "The most unlikely creatures to find so close to each other and yet, here we are."

I narrow my eyes at. The man sighs and rolls his eyes. "And of course the Venum!" he points to Ven disappeared to with his thumb.

I blink at him. Who is he?

Those black hole eyes turn to me. "Oh, where are my manners!" He clears his throat before bowing in a mocking manner. "I, my dear am the Light Angel." He grins. I raise an eyebrow. What?

I turn to look if Adam is anywhere nearby but he's not. As much as I hate him, he's a Supernatural and Supernaturals have powers. My heart starts thumping faster and I swallow hard. The man is probably a psychopath, roaming the woods trying to find new victims to kill.

How didn't the others notice he was here?

What even is a "Light Angel"?

I look at him in wonder. What does he want?

He raises an eyebrow and purses his lips to the side then he sighs through his nose before responding. "You mortals know me as Sekuum."

I tilt my head to the side and frown, a small gap between my lips. Does this man really believe he's Sekuum? Sekuum doesn't exist.

He sighs and rolls his eyes. "Typical Tales, never believing in me," he mutters to the ground before looking at me. "It's true Eve. I don't think, I know I am Sekuum. And yes I do exist."

I narrow my eyes. I don't even pay attention to the fact that he seems to have read my mind. "My name is Evin."

He grins widely. "I know! But I think you needed a nickname."

I try to take a step back to escape the "God".

Sekuum notices and shakes his head. He sighs. "Come on Eve, you shouldn't be scared of me." Then he squeals. "Oh! Oh! Adam and Eve!" He says, grinning at me. "See what I did there?" He winks.

I glare at him, not amused. "My name is Evin. Evin."

Is it that hard for him to understand?

"And mine is Sekuum. Anything new?"

Ugh!
