Chapter 4

My alarm went off at the time I had set it. I carefully and quietly got up and out of bed so I didn't wake up Rin who slept peacefully on the mattress. I picked out an outfit of a light pink t-shirt, a golden yellow hoodie and a black pair of leggings. I went to the bathroom to change making sure to shut my bedroom door behind me. I changed, brushed out my hair and pulled it back into a french braid and other morning routine things. I went back to my bedroom, quickly wrote a note for Rin when he woke up, set it by him and headed to the kitchen where my dad was making some coffee.

"Morning sweetie, ready to go?" He asked, carefully pouring the cup.

"Yessir!" I chirped, I was still extremely happy that I would get to see my friends.

"Alright, let's go." He finished pouring to coffee, put in a crap ton of creamer and put a lid on his cup. We left the apartment and headed downstairs to the underground parking where we kept our black Durango. We didn't use it much since it's gas mileage wasn't that great but it was awesome for towing stuff. My four closest friends were coming so they could all fit in the backseat. There was Catt, Gretchen (Grey), Zoe (Squeaks) and Samantha (Sam). This would be fun, if only we didn't have the Slender issue to deal with. Well, we'd still find a way to have fun, I smiled. I would get to tell them I am friends with some of their favorite YouTubers. I climbed into shotgun of the durango and buckled my seatbelt. The drive to the airport was like an hour away so I put on my purple beats headphones and plugged them into my phone turning on my Undertale soundtrack. It was one of my favorite games and the music is absolutely beautiful and calming.

I dozed off, daydreaming out the window and before I knew it we were already there. My dad gently poked my shoulder to wake me up, I took my headphones off, unplugged them and leapt out of the car and went inside to find my friends. It didn't take long cause they were in the first place I looked. The food court. Zoe and Grey were wolfing down food while Catt and Sam were sipping some sodas laughing and chatting. Sam was average height with medium length, brown  hair that was usually pulled back into a ponytail. She had pretty chocolate brown eyes under her black rimmed glasses and she was wearing her normal jeans and a t-shirt. Catt was by far the shortest in the group but I always recognized her by her super long and straight brown hair. She had greyish green eyes and was always wearing jeans, a black t-shirt with a red hoodie over it. Grey was the tallest in the group just an inch or two taller than me, she also had long hair but hers was a dark brown, so dark it was almost black. She had dark brown eyes and wore band t-shirts and jeans and I can only guess she brought her Foxy hoodie (From five nights at Freddy's) along with her. Lastly was Zoe, who has shoulder length brown hair which was also pulled back into a ponytail. She has bright blue eyes and wore an Avengers t-shirt, jeggings and black trainers. I was suddenly overwhelmed with happiness and I ran over pulling them all into a huge hug. Grey and Zoe shrieked and Catt and Sam cheered.

"Oh my gosh I might actually cry!" I said, hugging them tighter.

"Nice to see you too, Mia!" Grey cried after hugging back.

"Don't cry! No tears in public!" Sam laughed hugging back as well.

After exchanging greetings and hugs and almost tears; "My dad's waiting out in the durango, do you guys have everything?" I said mostly directing it at Catt and Zoe who tended to be forgetful with their belongings. Everyone nodded and gave a thumbs up and I led them outside to my dad. I helped them get all their stuff in the trunk and we all piled in. They all greeted my dad as they buckled in and my dad smiled as he pulled away from the airport.

"Oh my gosh! Miiiia!" Zoe cried with a whiney voice. "Ssundee hasn't uploaded anything in almost a month! Do you think he's okay?"

My stomach dropped like a rock. I had almost forgotten about Ian's Youtube channel. But I couldn't tell them with my dad in the car. "Maybe he's on vacation or something?" I suggested.

"Maybe, you'd think he'd make a vlog saying something before hand though..." She said crossing her arms making a goofy pouty face which made me laugh.

"Mia may be right, but Sky and them haven't said anything about him either lately." Grey pointed out.

"Yeah, and I've been watching Crainer and he just hasn't seen himself lately, like he's really concerned or worried." Sam added.

"Hmm, maybe he got really sick or something." My dad said outloud to himself more than anyone.

"Maybe..."

There was an awkward silence for a little while till my dad turned on the radio. After that the rest of the ride home was talking about plans for senior year and college.

We finally made it home, my dad just dropped us off and let us grab the stuff out of the back and we headed up to the apartment. Mom had already left for work, I really hoped she hadn't seen Rin but I think she would've said something. I led my friends upstairs and opened up the door, it was still really early so Rin might still be asleep. I showed my friends around the house, where the kitchen and bathroom was and all that jazz, I then went to my bedroom and paused before opening it. I carefully and slowly opened it so it wouldn't squeak and my friends rushed in chattily anyway. But they all fell silent once they were inside and by that reaction I could only assume I was correct. I stepped inside and saw that Rin was still curled up asleep on the mattress, welp, guess it's explaining time.

"Uh, Mia, who's this?" Zoe spoke first in astonishment.

"And why is he in your bedroom?" Catt added in equal astonishment.

"Is he your boyfriend?! Oh my gosh that's so cute!" Grey squealed not surprised by this at all.

"Why didn't you tell us?!" Sam cried.

"Shhh! Let me explain! Okay, for starters, he's not my boyfriend, he's just a friend. His name is Rin, he really shouldn't be here, but I guess he's more tired than I thought." I quickly explained.

"Okay, but why is he here?" Catt repeated.

"Last night it was thunderstorming and this goofball tried climbing from his window to my window cause he was looking for someone to hang out with. He didn't want to wake up his brother." I replied. I paused before letting out a sigh. "Well, now seems like a good time so, can I tell you guys something? Something insane?"

"Of course Mia, you can tell us anything." Grey said.

"Okay, it's a long story," I said and I began, how I met Ian when we first moved here, how Rin had called for help and brought us into the game of Slenderman. I told them everything, except for the fact that Ian was Ssundee but I'd do that after they heard the story, I wanted to see if they'd even believe me first. They sat quietly and listened through the entirety of my story. We all were sitting on my bed, and the room was quiet. I was prepared for them to laugh and ask if I was joking but nobody said anything. My guess was that they were processing what I had told them, it was a lot to swallow. I was about to say something else when Rin yawned and stretched. We all looked at him and he blinked awake and looked up at us, when he realized I wasn't the only one here he leapt up cheeks turning a bright red and his eyes widened.

"Ah! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to oversleep!" He cried almost falling over.

My friends burst into a fit of laughter and giggles at the flustered boy. "You're okay Rin, it's early so I kinda figured you wouldn't be up yet."

His posture relaxed and he looked around at my friends. "Oh, are these the friends you were telling me about last night?" He asked going back to his usual happy and cheerful mood.

"Yep, this is Sam, Gretchen, Zoe and Catt." My friends all waved and smiled. "I also already explained our situation-"

Zoe cut me off. "So you're from a horror game?" She asked curious and excited.

Sam gently smacked her head. "Gosh Zoe, you can't just ask people that." She said with a grin.

"But I wanna knooowww."

Rin just smiled and nodded. "Yeah, but I like it here better. Oh Mia, did you tell them about Ssundee and the others?"

Zoe gasped. "You know Ssundee?!"

"Whoops, probably should've mentioned Ian was Ssundee." I said rubbing the back of my neck.

"But that means he's missing!"

I gave a slight nod. "We've been searching for weeks and there's still no sign of him... I'm worried Slender might be keeping him hostage."

"Well, consider us now in on mission rescue Ssundee!" Gretchen cried. "We'll find that asshat and get Ssundee back!"

I smiled. "Oh, one more thing. I may be friends with Team Crafted." I said with a smirk.

"WHAT?!" They all cried only making me grin wider.

"That's right!"

"Oh my gosh! Please introduce us!" Catt cried.

"I will tomorrow, they agreed today should be a day we get settled."

"Okay, that works."

"Oh, hey Rin, won't Ren worry when he wakes up and finds out you're not there?"

"Yeah, but are my clothes dry yet? Your dads are too big on me."

"Yeah they should be, come on." I led Rin over to the dryer and gave him back his clothes. He shooed us out of the bathroom to change and I took my friends to the kitchen and we began making some pancakes. We were only making the batter when there was a frantic knock on my door. I went over and opened it and Ren stood there, looking half exhausted and half panicking.

"M-Mia! I-I can't find Rin anywhere!" He cried.

"Whoa easy Ren, he's here. He slept over 'cause he climbed out the window during a storm." I gently grabbed his arm and pulled him inside. He was extremely tense, so tense his whole body seemed to be shaking. "Calm down Ren, you're shaking." I gently reached for his shoulder but he pulled away.

"I'm fine..." He muttered.

I raised an eyebrow. He clearly wasn't fine but I wasn't willing to push it. I heard footsteps from the hall and I turned to Rin standing in the doorway. His face grew concerned as he saw Ren and he walked over to him. "You okay, Ren?"

"Yeah, just tell me when you go somewhere, okay...?" His voice was quiet and sounded off. What was he hiding?

Rin glanced at me. "I'll take him home and talk to him. Come over later okay?"

I nodded and Rin and Ren left quietly, shutting the door behind them. I turned to my friends who were still making the batter, only Catt had stopped and looked at me concerned. I gave her a smile.

"We'll check on them later, for know let's make some breakfast!" I cried joining them in the kitchen.

"Finally! I'm starving!" Zoe said with a grin, making us all burst into laughter.
