Amelia's POV:

Amelia lay in her bed, she hadn't slept at all the night before. there was so much at stake that she was glad that the guardians were offering to help fight the Fallen. Amelia heard someone open the door, in a flash, she grabbed her heroshot from her bedside and shot at the figure who now stood in her doorway.

Sid: Jesus what was that for?!

Amelia: Sorry you startled me and my reflexes kicked in

The salmonling nodded and entered his salmon form to recover from the shot and swam to an ink puddle back in his room to replace his clothes. Amelia fastened her ink tank to her back and spun her heroshot, she walked out the door towards the main control unit, the back hallways reminded Amelia of the deepsea metro with it's dimly lit corridors and lines. Amelia entered the control unit, the monitor's orange glow was gone and Ana was fiddling with wires and circuitry, an orange and silver ghost hovered around the control unit, scanning for something.

Ana: Find anything Jinju?

Jinju: nothing you want to hear Ana

Ana groaned and looked over at her ghost, the machine's single blue eye was dimmed in sadness. Amelia walked over to the two technicians and noticed that the orange hologram display was also down.

Amelia: what's going on?

Ana jumped a bit, slamming her head against the main interface. Ana got out from the mess of wires and circuitry and waved at Amelia, the guardian's orange eyes changed, the irises looked more robotic in a sense.

Ana: Rasputin went offline a few minutes ago, I and Jinju are trying to find out why. anyway, what did you find little light?

Jinju: the good news is that the interface and circuitry are not damaged at all. the bad news is that: the only thing that could cause this to happen would be if someone removed Rasputin from his main control unit.

Ana closed the pannel that she used to try and fix the wires and walked over to a toolbox, she opened the lid to reveal six different weapons, Ana grabbed the revolver and tossed an auto rifle to Amelia along with a few packs of ammo.

Ana: what do you say we check out what's happening?

Amelia nodded and readied the sleek black weapon and followed Ana towards a wall, Ana's irises changed again and a section of the wall slid open to reveal a long staircase heading down towards an underground bunker of sorts. Ana took the lead with her hand cannon at the ready with Amelia following close behind the guardian.

Amelia: What is this place?

Ana: Rasputin's portable warmind vault, it's essentially Rasputin's house but more technologically advanced.

Amelia: You never told me what this place is or who is Rasputin

Ana: Sorry about that, this is Bray facility RTS123R or the Stargazer for short. as for who is Rasputin, he's a warmind, one of the last and definitely the strongest, he was earth's first line of defense in our reality back in the golden age.

Amelia nodded and noticed strange cuts on the wall, Ana was walking right past them and towards a gigantic black door like the ones Amelia had seen all around the Stargazer. Ana pressed the center of the door, the door slid open and closed behind the two.

Ana: Shit

Ana ran over to Rasputin's interface, The black screen bore a single white symbol with the words 'System/Error.404' Ana typed a command into the interface, a large hatch in the floor opened up to reveal a pedestal with a data card case, Ana opened the case and cursed.

Ana: They took Rasputin. without him the entire facility is defenseless, we have to get him back

Ana walked over to a wall, it's surface looked like it was cut open at some point. Ana pushed against the wall as a section fell forwards leading to the outside world, Amelia spotted some footprints in the dirt and motioned for Ana to come over to take a look.

Ana: what is it Ameli - that's cabal footprints, by the looks of it about twelve gladiators, two colossuses, and around fifty-two warbeasts.

Amelia was shocked that Ana could tell all that from a few footprints, Ana walked along the path that followed the footprints until they stopped at a ledge in the middle of a ravine. Amelia's eyes scanned the area until she found it, 'nothing just disappears out of nowhere' Amelia looked up at the scratches in the rock formation.

Amelia: Hey check this out!

Ana and Jinju walked over and looked at the scratches, the two nodded and jumped onto a ledge on the side of the ravine right above the ledge Amelia was on.

Ana: yep, these are Hauler wing marks, they must have scraped the side of the canyon with the wings

Amelia used her heroshot to scale the ravine's rocky surface and swam to the top while Ana jumped from ledge to ledge and finally made it to the top. Ana and Amelia followed the scratches until they made it to a large outcropping lined with concrete walls, and filled with Cabal soldiers, tanks, and ships.

Ana: They have got to have Rasputin in here somewhere...

Amelia scanned the area until she spotted a small building with two centurions guarding the entrance equipped with Plasma cannons, Jetpacks, and forcefields. Amelia also took note of the psion snipers in the watchtowers.

Ana: ok I'll take out the snipers on the right you take the left

Amelia nodded and swam up the wall and right behind one of the snipers, she quickly stabbed in the head with a knife that Ana had given her and threw one at another sniper before they could sound the alarm, she looked over at Ana who was right behind the building and gave a quick thumbs-up before taking one of the psion's sniper rifles and aiming at the Cabal closest to the building. In a swift motion, Ana shot the two guards in front of the server room while Amelia sniped the colossuses heading towards Ana. Ana emerged from the building while firing off six solar-charged shots from her gun killing the remaining cabal in the encampment.

Ana leaped over the wall and onto her speeder, Amelia jumped onto the back of the speeder as Ana proceeded to break the sound barrier with the sheer speed of her hovering motorcycle. Amelia was sent flying into a wall as they re-entered Rasputin's vault, Ana walked over to the interface and plugged in a small data drive. the interface lit up orange as Rasputin when back online.

Rasputin: Thank you Bray and you Amelia. I appreciate the help, I have information regarding the missing inklings and octolings from this reality, however, the information is incomplete I only know the location of one Octoling of the name 1,0008. 

Amelia: Wait that's Bridgett! where is she!?

Rasputin: She's somewhere in sector 5A from what I know

Amelia: That's in onto valley!

Ana: Octovalley?

Amelia: it's where the octarian army was when I was trying to get the great Zapfish back from Dj. Octavio two years ago, however, the only known entrance is in the plaza...

Ana: We'll get your friends back no matter what it takes...for Zero

Amelia: Thanks...for everything

Ana: We're guardians, it's what we do

Amelia nodded and walked back up the stairs to the main control center to leave Ana and Rasputin to go through the files that the Ai had retrieved from the Cabal, she walked over to her room and flopped down onto her bed, she looked over at a photo of her, Bridgett, Lexa, Captain cuttlefish, Pearl, Marina, Marie, and Callie.

Amelia: I'll find you, Bridgett...I promise
