~Two days after the previous chapter~

Callie's POV:

Callie leaned against the railing at the top of Deca Tower, the soft pink-orange color of sunset made Callie feel at peace. Callie had been keeping all her grief over the past six years pent up inside, she could barely take it knowing that Zero had died again after not seeing him for six years. Callie looked up at the Great Zapfish, its eyes seemed to feel bad for Callie, She and Zero had been friends with the giant fish for A little over A decade. 

Great Zapfish: We both know Zero's not dead, we would have felt it along with all the multiverse

Callie felt A shiver go down her nonexistent spine, she would never get used to the sound of the Great Zapfish's voice in her head. 

Callie: That's the thing I felt him die, I know he's alive but were the only ones who know that he's not dead

Callie turned back around to look at the horizon. but something was wrong, Callie squinted at A thousand or so Black specs that dotted the sky, they grew rapidly closer with each passing moment. Inklings and octolings alike began to notice the strange flying objects. Callie looked down and saw Team blue, The rest of Team black, and Team Gold starring at the phenomenon, there was also Berry from team Fizzy-Pop and A strange rainbow Skeleton with an Ink brush. The speakers on Deca tower began to screech from massive feedback, Callie covered her ears to try and dull the sound to no avail. A few moments later the feedback stopped and was replaced with an almost alien-like chatter.

Callie looked at the nearing ships, they were armed with cannons, bombs, and other destructive weaponry. the ships dropped down massive Tanks and soldiers, the tanks and soldiers were unlike anything Callie had ever seen before, they moved almost in A spiderlike fashion, some carried electrical spears, some carried guns, but one thing was for sure no amount of ink could kill these aliens. 

???: Kill them all, raid the city, leave only the ruins of inkopolis... and bring be the squid sisters, Off the hook, and the three other heroes.

The tanks fired hundreds of missiles at the innocent Inklings, Octolings, and other citizens. Callie grabbed her phone and called the other agents, the destruction was too great to not try and do something about it. Callie turned around and picked her hero roller spinning the lightweight weapon, out of the corner of her eye she saw Marie, agent 4, Pearl, and Marina pop out of the sewer grate, The group froze in shock at the aliens and their tanks but quickly sprung into action. Marie fired A few shots at the smaller aliens but only knocking them over, Marina used A Octo mech special and fired A few energy blasts at the tanks, Pearl was dodging the spears while stabbing with A stolen spear, Agent 4 was zipping around the battlefield Kicking the aliens in the groin. Callie smiled as she smashed her roller into A few Alien's heads, the roller collided with their skulls cracking the bone. Almost every Inkling and Octoling was in combat, even Sheldon joined in with hundreds of ink-strikes, Inkzookas, and the new special known as Inkwhirlwind.

Agent 3 and Agent 8 joined in, Bridgett shot A few high powered blasts at the aliens with her Octo-Blaster while Amelia threw her auto bombs at the onslaught of foes. the two worked like A well-oiled machine, they knew what they were going to do when they were going to do it. this kept up for A few hours, one by one the citizens of inkopolis where captured or killed, only the agents remained. Marie was about to fire another shot when one alien smashed her head into the ground causing her to lose consciousness, Pearl and Marina were overpowered by one of the tanks' electrical shockwaves, four and eight were gassed, and three had disappeared.

A thick fog covered the square, the whole of inkopolis was covered in A thick white blanket of mist. Callie stood alone, she looked around for the aliens but the fog was to thick. the sound of the aliens moving caused her to jump, one of the aliens kicked her to the ground and smacked the back of their gun into her face, she went limp as she also was captured by the aliens.

Amelia's POV:

Amelia stumbled around in the thick white mist that covered inkopolis, the sounds of Aliens scurrying around echoed throughout the square, she could tell that they where close just not how close. The thick white blanket began to lift to reveal just how close the Aliens where. one of the aliens was withing spear reach, two where aiming snipers at her, and the other three had guns at the ready. The spear alien held the spear to her throat ready to stab at A moment's notice. Amelia braced herself for the blow when the sound of three loud cracks filled the air followed by the sound of bodies dropping to the floor.

???: You ok little one?

The voice sounded Russian with A little bit of almost robotic in the mix. Amelia opened her eyes and was greeted by A tall and bulky warrior, in one hand he held A weapon she had never seen, on the top of his helmet was A old human plume. Amelia nodded at the hero and looked around, around her stood four more of the odd warriors, one held A smaller gun with A white Ace logo and wore A cloak that covered their head, another held A slightly larger red and white gun and had two horns on his helmet, the third held A sword blazing with fire his robes where Egyptian themed and his mask was almost birdlike, The fourth was firing A flaming gun at the Aliens that had ambushed Amelia. The Hooded figure turned to Amelia while spinning his gun.

???: Isn't safe out here right now, follow us

Amelia followed the group to A Gigantic black hexagonal building, they walked towards the entrance as the hooded figure walked up to the door and pressed A few numbers on A keypad, the doors slid open to reveal a massive control room, A few Octolings, Inklings, Salmonoids, and other species were walking around the structure, in the center A massive computer with hundreds of monitors hung from the ceiling, at the base of the control unit A Female human was fiddling with the monitors. The Person who had been firing the flaming gun walked over to the girl.

???: Ana we got another one of the sealing creatures.

The girl named Ana nodded and walked over to Amelia, looking her down from top to bottom.

Ana: She looks A lot like Zero in terms of species

Amelia: Wait-How do you know Zero?

The Hooded figure looked over at Amelia:

???: He's A guardian, like the rest of us

Amelia: And who's the rest of us exactly?

Cayde: Sorry for not introducing myself, Name's Cayde-6, Or just Cayde. I'm the Hunter Vanguard. The Exo with A shotgun is Saint-14, Greatest Titian to ever live. The old man with the Sword is Osiris, one of our Warlocks. The Loud megaphone with the broken horn is Shaxx. The girl over there is Ana Bray, one of our Hunters and last Bray alive. The guy with the golden gun, that's Shadow-13 my best Hunter, he and Zero were good friends before he went back to this reality.

Shadow-13: Speaking of which, where is Zero?

Amelia: Zero is gone, he went after A group of Octarians and Octolings who were still loyal to Octavio, and he came back bleeding and stumbling, his little robotic companion is gone too.

Shadow-13: Who killed him?

Amelia: I don't know, he didn't get to tell anyone before...

Amelia looked away from the guardians, she had only meet Zero A few weeks ago but he had risked life and limb to save her and the other agents from the Darklings two years ago, he had helped save inkopolis from Tar-Tar, and he had also saved them from the skull clan and the octarians. Zero had cared for them like family, and when Callie was in the hospital he had tried everything to help cheer Marie and the other agents by reassuring them that Callie would be fine, he also had cleared out crowds of fans and haters of both the squid sisters and Pearl.

Ana: Umm shadow, Cayde, Osiris, Saint, and...uh what's your name?

Amelia: My name's Amelia, nice to meet you

Ana: Nice to meet you too Amelia. Anyway I was looking over the security footage from the ambush and I noticed that the Fallen all had the same marking, but it's not any house of the Fallen.

Amelia: What's a Fallen?

Ana smiled and tapped a few keys on a keyboard, a holographic image of one of the aliens along with a few other kinds of foreign aliens.

Ana: the spider-like aliens are the Fallen, the robotic aliens are the Vex, the space-Rinos are the Cabal, and the weird black goo guys are the Taken.

Shadow-13: What do you mean by non-house marking?

Ana pulled up an image of one of the Fallen that had attacked Amelia before, they all had a strange marking on their garb.

Shadow-13: The Raiders...but Zero and I had imprisoned them in X-max

Ana: There was a breakout there two days ago...are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Shadow-13: Unfortinently yes... I'm going to go find banshee-44, Cayde come with me

Cayde-6: Fine

Osiris: I and Saint need to work on some tactics, see you later Amelia

Amelia waved the four guardians goodbye and turned towards Anna who was gesturing towards her dorm for the time being. The walls were blank, there a closet, a weapon rack, and two beds.

Amelia: Why are there two beds?

Ana: That's you're roommate's bed, just to be warned he told me to tell you to NEVER touch his stuff

Ana pointed to the door that separated the two rooms, it was decorated with punk decals and skull logos.

Amelia: and who is my roommate exactly?

???: That would be me

Amelia turned around and was greeted by a salmonling, he leaned against a hydra splatling, his ink tank was actually normal ink like the inklings and octolings. 

Sid: Name's Sid, and you are?

Amelia: Amelia, are you A salmonling by any chance?

Sid nodded and glared at her, his red eyes felt like they could pierce her head with that stare.

Sid: What's it to you?

Amelia: Nothing it's just, I noticed you had regular ink, not the salmonoid kind

Sid relaxed for A minute and stopped glaring.

Sid: Us Salmonlings can use both ink types, we just prefer salmonling ink over inkling and octoling ink but I'm fine with it.

Amelia: That actually makes sense, thank you for letting me know

Sid: no problem, anyway Ana will show you how to customize your room I'll see you in the morning

Sid walked into his room and closed the door leaving Amelia and Ana alone.

Ana: So quick tour of the functions, put your hand to the wall and think about what you want the color or wallpaper to be, and the furniture is also customize-able, got it?

Amelia nodded her head as Ana walked out of the room and closed the door behind her, she flopped down onto her bed and stared at the ceiling and thought about the other agents. Callie, Marie, Lex, Zero, and most of all Bridgett. Amelia and the octoling had grown close over the past few weeks and had developed feelings for her, the chances of Amelia confessing to Bridgett much less even seeing her again were very slim. Amelia looked up at the ceiling and began to drift off to sleep.

Amelia: Where are you, Bridgett?

???: How ate the test going?

Scientist: tests are going spectacularly sir, however his body seems to be rejecting the sanitization even when it's dead, however-

???: however?

Scientist: If we can restart his machine it will revive him, we will need to mute it so it can't help him regain his memory

???: Begin the process at once, tell me as soon as he is awake, understood?

Scientist: Understood...Commander
