Chapter 21
They ended up shifting to the watch shop which was the safest place since it was the only off-zone area in Galax. Leila had been acting restless since then.
"I knew this was a bad idea."
"Relax, Leila."
Lucas tried to calm her down and motioned her to sit. She sighed in frustration and sat beside him. Her dream from the previous night flashed through her brain and it made her feel uncomfortable. She glanced at him who was innocently staring back at her. What if he ended up like what she saw?
Lucas was starting to get worried about Leila. She couldn't keep calm and he noticed that she kept on thinking about something which he obviously did not know. 'I thought no more secrets,' he thought.
"I'm not keeping any secrets, Lucas."
He was not sure if she was telling the truth. The situation was too messy to argue over minor stuffs so he just let it go. After all, she seemed to be having a lot of things going through her mind. He knew she would tell him when she was ready anyways.
Leila could not help it anymore. His safety was her first priority.
"For one last time, will you leave?"
He rolled his eyes and shook his head. He grabbed her shoulders and looked straight into her eyes.
"I'm not going anywhere without you."
She bit her bottom lip and was frustrated at how stubborn he was.
"You might get killed," she tried to remind him that what he was doing is a bad idea and that he should leave while he had the chance.
"I don't care. I'm willing to risk anything for you." was what she got.
"But this is-" she was cut off by Lucas.
"Do you hate me, Leila?"
She shook her head. "Of course not."
"That's all I need."
Leila had run out of ideas. She desperately thought of what she should do to make him believe that this was a bad idea.
"Stop thinking so much. Everything will be fine."
"I don't want you to get hurt because of me. I'm just a sinner."
His heart clenched tightly as he listened to her. She sounded so desperate and she had only been worrying about him. Just like Alex said, she never placed herself as first priority.
"People makes mistake. Just forget it and move it."
He wanted to make her forget it. He wanted her to love herself. But Leila saw it differently. She smiled weakly at him and touched his cheeks.
"It's that not easy. The past hunts you back like a nightmare. I had to go through everyday knowing that I had hurt someone. I can't just move on, Lucas."
He played with his hands nervously. He knew he would never be able to understand her pain. But he wanted her to share it with him. After all, she meant everything to him. The day he met her, he knew she was the one and he was not willing to lose her in any way.
"I know I'm playing with fire but all I need is you. And I really am willing to risk everything. But if I were to lose you, my entire world would crumble. I'd rather choose you."
He pulled her into a hug. It was the kind of hug which helped Leila to forget all her pain. She felt warm and loved.
"I love you, Leila. I just do and nothing can change that."
Leila had never felt this happy before. She had never been this loved before. She thought maybe she could try to just somehow make it work for the two of them. For the sake of their love. For him. She wanted to take the risk.
"I love you too."

Leila and Lucas had fallen asleep on the couch. Lucas snuffled for more space and ended up making sounds which woke Leila up. She smiled at the sight of him sleeping innocently and messed his hair lightly. The night felt rather cold so she pulled the blanket to fully cover him.
She stood up and walked towards the window where the moon was beaming brightly in the sky. Alex appeared beside her and looked at the moon as well.
"It seems like they will make a move soon."
She nodded and watched the night sky. The stars blinked twice showing some kind of sign. She immediately knew that it was Aaron informing them.
"We will need to move again in the morning," she said as she took a quick glance at the sleeping Lucas.

"Break the wall down!"
The wall was broken into pieces and the door to the watch shop was slashed open. The group of Heads stood in the middle of the shop but it was empty.
"I told you they won't be here," Aaron mocked as he leaned against the door.
"Aaron! It must have been you. You let them escape," one of the Head shouted.
He shrugged and had a smug look on his face. They rushed past him and one of them purposely brushed against his shoulder. He stood alone as he watched them ran, hoping for nothing to happen to the two of them.

Leila pulled Lucas by the wrist as they ran off.
"I thought it was the off-zone?"
Leila stopped and stood behind the corner as some Galaxians walked past.
"Well, the Heads can track any location if they wish to and..," she paused in between her sentences and gave him a weak smile, "And I'm an angel with no wings. There are certain limits to what I can do"
Lucas watched her as she spoke and smiled. "But you are still my angel. I'll protect you!"
What he said actually made Leila laugh. She wondered how he managed to always stay so positive and where he actually got all his determination from.
"You know we can go already," Alex said as he stood behind them which made them jump.
Lucas got pulled by Leila again. As they travelled along the hallway, they ran past his office where the door was creaked open. Inside, he saw Ryan and Jacob being ambushed by a group of Galaxians with one of the Head.
"Look! There they are!" Someone behind them shouted and Lucas turned around.
He saw the Heads and fellow Galaxians chasing after them.
"Turn around."
Alex who was running behind him blocked his view so that the Galaxians could not see him. He turned back around and noticed that Leila had increased her speed.
Jacob and Ryan took out their weapons and blocked the way in order to spare more time.
"His romantic issues are worse than mine," Jacob groaned as he got ready to attack.
"Both of you are just bad at it."
Ryan rolled his eyes which made Jacob look at him shocked.
The Galaxians had pulled out their weapons and so did they. They started moving towards the pack of Galaxians in front of them and attacked them.

On the other hand, the three were surrounded by the Heads and other Galaxians.
"Our darling Angel and the Best Guardian in Galax," one of the Heads categorized them.
Leila held Lucas's wrist tightly and signaled Alex.
"We run in 3," she whispered to Lucas who did not really understand but nodded his head anyways. He had no idea how it would be possible to escape this situation.
Leila counted down slowly to 3 and the moment it reached to 3, Alex punched the Head standing in front of them so hard that he flew away. The moment a space was created, the three of them ran past while the rest were still confused at the moment.
Lucas looked back at the Head who was punched by Alex and gulped at how strong Alex was. The Head had totally lost conscious and barely breathing. To actually be able to knock down the Head like that would actually require a monstrous strength that had been trained for several years.
He glanced over at Alex and wondered who he really was since he was not a Guardian or a Head for sure. Alex noticed his stare and smiled at him innocently.

They stopped in front of the white door and Leila turned the door handle down to unlock it. They could hear footsteps getting closer. She pulled Lucas towards her and kissed him on the lips quickly.
"Be safe," she told him as she pushed him inside the room. He stared at her confused and had a bad feeling about it.
"Leila?!" he shouted as she turned away from him and closed the door shut, locking him inside. He banged the door and tried to open it but it was locked from the outside.
Alex watched Leila clenching her fists.
"Is this the best way, my lady?" he asked.
If Lucas was her first priority then she was definitely Alex's first priority. She squeezed her chest and glanced back at the door. It's not like she had a choice. She looked side to side and saw several swarming towards them.
"Alex, you know what to do."
He nodded and stood in front of her. He got into a stance to get ready to attack. As the men approached them, Alex pounced at them, protecting Leila at all cost.

Lucas could hear the clashing sounds of the sword, the shots of a bullet and men screeching in pain. He looked around the white room which was just a normal room with bed, table and chair.
It seemed like a room where someone had lived before. He scanned the room and saw only one long window. He tried to open it but it was locked as well. He punched it hard but it was too hard.
He ran out of options. He pulled his hair and shouted out of frustration.
He reached for the door again; trying to open it so that he could at least make sure Leila was safe. Soon enough, the sound of footsteps and people fighting slowly disappeared. It stopped but he had no idea how it ended.
He just prayed for nothing to happen to Leila. Just when she had finally accepted and trusted him, they ended up getting separated. He looked at the night sky through the window. It was just a plain black sky with no stars shining or moon beaming. It was a dry night. Lonely and cold.

Lucas heard the door getting unlocked and creaked open. The person seemed to have closed the door shut once he or she came in. He heard footsteps walking towards him and he knew it did not belong to Leila. The footsteps were heavy like a man. He knew he was caught and he was willing to face any consequences.
"It was so difficult finding you," the man spoke and the voice sounded so familiar to Lucas. He knew exactly who it was. He looked up at the man standing in front of him.
Aaron.
