Chapter 3

(Photo is Valentine)

Jack's POV

The last thing I wanted to do was go on a special rescue mission with Rapunzel and a piece of Elsa's personality. And I still didn't completely believe that Rapunzel didn't have anything to do with it. Maybe she didn't do it herself, but maybe she just watched while it happened.

I went to the snow globe room, and we used a snow globe to go to Las Vegas. As soon as I stepped through the portal, I was blinded. There were so many lights here! It was night, so all of the casinos and such were lit up to attract customers. People were walking around, most of them couples. But not all of them.

"Any idea where Valentine is?" I asked Stella. She closed her eyes for a moment, and then pointed down the street.

"That way. Follow me." She said. Rapunzel and I followed her down the street, passing tons of people and places until we came to a building. It was covered in dazzling red, pink, and white lights. I checked the name. It was called The Love Shack.

"Of course. Elsa's romantic personality would probably choose the most romantic place around." Rapunzel said.

"What is it even supposed to be? A casino?" I asked.

"A restaurant." Stella explained, walking inside. There were a lot of people inside, and all of them were couples. The three of us walked up to one of the waiters.

"Good evening ladies and gentleman. Welcome to the love shack, where entertainment, romance, and food mingle. How may I be of service?" He asked.

"We're looking for a girl named Valentine." I said.

"She could be here. But unfortunately, I cannot allow the three of you to go inside. Only couples are allowed beyond this point." The waiter said apologetically. I looked at the two girls. Um... Houston, we have a problem. I was most definitely NOT going in there with Rapunzel. But how do I say that nicely...? Rapunzel sighed.

"I'll wait out here." She said.

"Looks like it's you and me then Jack." Stella said. The waiter removed the rope that was blocking the way to move on, and we walked out into the room beyond.

It was probably not what I would have expected. It was all one big room, and there were small tables everywhere. Every table held a single couple. People of all ages were here. On the far side of the room was a large raised stage. At the moment, it was empty.

"Where do you think Valentine is? Remember, only couples are here." I said.

"I'm not sure..." Stella said.

"You don't think she found a boyfriend already or something... do you?" I asked hesitantly. Stella laughed.

"Feeling a little jealous?" She asked.

"Of course not. I already know that the actual Elsa chose me." I grumbled. Suddenly the lights dimmed and a single spotlight shone on the stage. A girl in a sparkly gold dressed stepped onto the sage.

"Good evening lovers! For your next entertainment, we have a very special guest! May I introduce to you... The Angel of Love Valentine!" The woman said.

"You've got to be kidding me." I said. The crowd cheered as the woman in gold left the stage and someone new stepped into the spotlight.

It was definitely the Valentine we were looking for. She looked almost exactly like Elsa, except she was wearing a gorgeous sparkly pink dress and had strawberry blond hair. Her hair was done on a braid just like Elsa's always was, and it had Ruby heart clips in it. She wore deep red lipstick and purple eyeshadow. Instead of blue eyes like Elsa's, she had violet eyes. The crowd cheered as she curtsied.

"Great. How are we supposed to get to her now?" I asked.

"I suppose we'll have to wait until after the show." Stella said, sitting at a table. I joined her and turned to watch Valentine. After the cheering died down, Valentine started singing.

"Is she singing... We Found Love in a Hopeless Place?" I asked in surprise.

"Well this is a romantic restaurant." Stella pointed out.

"I sure hope she doesn't have too many songs planned." I said.

Rapunzel's POV

It had only been a minute or two, and I was already bored to death of sitting in the lobby.

"You know, there's a restaurant next door for single people looking to meet other single people." Someone suddenly said from behind me. I spun around. It was a girl, I think. She had a girl voice. It actually sounded kind of familiar...

She was wearing a black thing which was part dress, part cloak, and she had a mask on. It looked like one of those half face masks they have in Mexico. This one was white with rubies on it. Her hair was gray, like she had rubbed it with chalk, and it was done up in a semi-braid semi-ponytail.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You just look so lonely and out of place here." The girl said. I sighed.

"I'm waiting for someone." I told her.

"They aren't going to come out any time soon. The show's just getting started! And Valentine is a very talented singer. She sings directly from the heart."

"Oh. I... I may be here a while then."

"You should go to the Blind Club next door. They set you up with a blind date for ten minutes. Once the ten minutes are up, you get to try someone else. A very high quality place."

"Oh. Yeah, I think I'll try it out. Thank you!" I said, turning and leaving. I was too far away to hear the woman's last words. But even if I had heard them, I would have been confused and thought I had heard wrong.

"No, thank you... Rapunzel."
