A Room With a View

The nurse came in with fresh bandages and began to re-wrap all of Runa's wounds once the doctor had finished.

"Well," Doctor Farage said, "This could have been a lot worse. I looked at all the x-rays and the MRI. Everything looks good except for a couple bruises and the wrist fracture which we need to re-splint until they can cast it. You did suffer a slight concussion. I was not sure if there was extensive damage but it does not look like it."

"Breathing and eating will probably cause a lot of discomfort for awhile. But tomorrow you should be able to start trying some solid foods. Depending on the results you may be able to go home in a couple of days."

"A couple of days;" Molly asked, "That soon?"

"That soon," he said smiling.

The Nurse finished and left the room.

"That's good news, right?" Molly said to Runa.

"Thank you," Runa told him.

"You're Welcome. Get some rest," he said, leaving.

Molly watched until he had disappeared. "They better be damn sure you're ready. I'm not letting them send you home until its safe."

"It's okay mom," Runa told her. "I'll be okay now"

"I know you will, sweetheart."

There was a knock just outside the room and they looked up to see Mendalie smiling from ear to ear with flowers in her hand.

"Mendie," Runa said!

"Hey there dollface!" she said walking in.

Runa reached out her right hand and Mendalie grasped it, smiling.

"Hey. You got a room with a view," Mendalie said, looking out the window at the hospital roof. "Okay, maybe not the best view."

Mendalie brightened the room even more than it was.

"Hey Mrs. W," Mendalie said.

"Hi Mendalie, dear; I'm so glad you could come," she told her.

"Of course" Mendalie told her, "Anything for my bestie!"
