No this can't be happening. I cant transform in front of her! I pinch myself. Please be a dream! Please be a horrible, unreal dream!

And there it is. The tingling sensation starting at my hip, slowly moving down to my feet. Flow's worried expression as she sees my body get covered in scales and my legs fuse together, growing golden scales and a big, oversized fin. I tumble awkwardly into the pool. Great, she knows my secret.

She rushed to the side of the pool as i resurfaced from the cold of the pool. "Wait What?" She asks, with a quizzical expression "You're a hybrid mermaid?" I sigh and slowly swim to the side of the pool with my head hung low in shame.

"Surprise.. I turn into a mermaid when wet!"

There. I said it. I feel my tail as it swishes side to side underwater. I'm screwed.

I pull myself up, out of the water. Reach for a towel. Dry off. My scales disappear and my tail transforms back to a pair of legs fully clothed, just like nothing happened. But something did happen.

"Don't tell anyone!" I nervously whisper in her ear as we start to walk into her house. I feel wobbly on my recently formed feet. I want to cry, mother will be so disappointed in me. Mother with her long, flowing hair.  Beautiful gold tail and top, and her wide, shimmering smile. What should I do?

My mind comes back to reality as I hear a click. I turn around rapidly and see..

A man. A man with a camera. A photographer. The whole world will know. The whole world will know my secret. The whole world will know our secrets.
