The tests
Joan shuddered in the world made of ice.
'So this is how my scroll world looks like.' She thought to her self while inspecting the world.
"Joan." A voice called out to her.
"Mia, it's me." Even though she had not seen her scroll spirit, Joan could identity its voice even if a million people are talking together.
A scorpion crawled out of an ice boulder but it wasn't a normal scorpion, this scorpion was made of ice.
"Joan, you have come." Mia spoke again.
"Yep, now let's get to the test please? I'm freezing here." Joan asked her scroll spirit, shivering as a cold wind blew.
"Ok if you say so." Mia carried Joan on her back to a giant door.
"So what should I do?" Joan asked.
"Behind that door is your power but to open it you need to find the key out of these keys." Mia explained the test to Joan and made many keys out of ice and Joan's test began.

"Bartholomew Kirk." The man spoke.
Barry recognised Dan through his voice. "Dan is that you?" He asked just to be sure.
"Yes." Dan answered.
Barry burst out laughing but his laughter was cut short with a dagger pierced through his shoulder.
In an instant all the caffeine in Barry's blood disappeared as he yelled in pain and then looked around the room for the perpetrator.
'Dan hasn't moved and there's no one else here, so who can it be?' Barry began to reason as he removed the dagger from his shoulder carefully.
"You're slow, you didn't even see me when I went to take the dagger and stabbed your shoulder."
"Why?" Barry asked.
"You joke with everything even to the extent that you forgot that this is the test to awaken your power. But I'll bring that back into your memory. Your test is to defeat me in battle." Dan coated his hand with purple lightening to the extent that his hand grew bigger.
'That's not possible. That's the lightening fist!' Barry reasoned.
"If you space out you'll die." Dan's voice snapped Barry back to reality but before he could react, Dan electrocuted him.
"Aargg!!"

Erza stared at the cheetah made of iron for a while then it spoke.
"Erza, your test is to solve these questions." The iron cheetah brought out some question papers and handed over to her.
Erza stared at the questions and let out a sigh and her complaints.
"Really, it just had to be maths." Erza told her scroll spirit dully.
"Well I found nothing better to use, now get on with it."

Lyn stared at the eerie black mist in surprise and fear.
"Lyn, your test is to tame this beast with a weapon of your choice." The mist spoke with a rough and husky voice.
Lyn shuddered in fear, even its voice was frightening enough.
"Come!" A huge beast came at the command out of the shadows.
It was twenty times Lyn's size and it had the body of a lion, the head of a rhinoceros and the tail of a buffalo.
"How do you expect me to tame this?!" Lyn asked no one in particular.

Luke kept on falling, he had been falling for thirty minutes and from the look of it he wasn't going to land any time soon.
"Ow!" Luke stood up slowly and began to inspect his surroundings.
"Luke."
"Yes." Luke answered the scroll spirit.
"You have only one chance to chose your element out of the six elements namely plant, earth, fire, wind and lightening. Choose the wrong element and you get no power. Don't choose based on what you want but reflect, look back and then you will find the answer."

John screamed in pain as the eagle headed man removed his eyes, leaving him blind.
"I'm giving you a better eye but in order to get it you must find it blind." The man with a eagle head told a bleeding John.
*-*-*-*
"Amy, what's my test." Peter asked his female scroll spirit.
"Peter, in order to get your power, you must find the ashiri and open its eye then you pierce your eye with it." Amy told Peter.
*-*-*-*
Beryl closed her eyes in fear and pain as her former caretaker raised her up with her hair.
"Hmm, there's cash on you, now should I sell you into slavery or prostitution." The man voiced his thoughts on purpose.
Beryl tried to pull back tears, of all tests to give, she just had to re-experience the most painful moment of her life.
*-*-*-*
Ben yelled, the flames on his body was burning him. Torture, Ben hated torture but he figured scroll users will be subjected to torture.
A man who Ben couldn't see appeared with a knife and gave Ben a slash on his back.

Outside in the real world effects of what happened in the tests were already manifesting them selves on the bodies of the students undertaking their tests.
"Captain Cole, will they be alright?" Ash asked Cole.
"Of course they'll be." Cole's answer wasn't convincing enough to assure Ash that her classmates are safe, she wanted to help but there was nothing she could do so she just hoped for the best.

_______________________________
Sorry for the short chapter, honestly this test was impromptu, at first I just wanted to give them their powers immediately but then I had second thoughts and there you have it, the tests.
Thanks for reading.
