Chapter 22- Oh No

(A lot of time jumps in this whoa sorry)

((Ok but Melanie Martinez amiright?))

Phil has been much more touchy lately, but I'm not complaining really. It's just...odd. Intimidating almost. Is it the whole Alex thing? I guess Alex and I have been hanging out quiet a bit lately, but Phil shouldn't have to worry. I've told him over, and over again that I'm not leaving. He has to deal with me for as long as we're aloud to stay together.

What Phil and I shared last week seems to constantly replay over and over in my head. The way I felt. It showed how much I really love Phil. How I can't picture me with anyone else. Times like these make me think that the pain I went through for the blue eyed boy was worth it without a doubt.

"What up?" Alex smiles as he throws his binder onto his desk before sitting down.

"Don't ever do that again." I laugh.

"What? Do you not understand swag? Face it dude I am the number one swag." He nods and crosses his arms.

"You look more like a stupid chav...or a normal chav since they're pretty stupid." I say.

"Where is this conversation even going?" Alex laughs.

I shrug, and prop my chin up with my hand, "I don't know I'm tired. I barely got any sleep last night." I groan.

"Studying?"

"Yeah." I blush, and burry my head in my hands.

~

During sometime in the lesson, I notice Alex constantly glancing at me. It's nonstop which kinda freaks me out. Is there something on my face? Do I look weird? Am I less unattractive than usual? What?

At one point, I catch Alex's gaze as he continues to stare at me. Of course, he looks down, and I can't help but notice a small pink tinge to his perfect cheeks.

~

"Hey Dan? This is a bit awkward but- uh, do you wanna come over to my place today?" He nervously asks once the lesson ends.

I smile at Alex, about to say a yes. Before I can, Phil appears in the doorway with a wide and loving smile, making my heart melt, "Not today, Alex. But maybe another time." I truthfully tell him.

His own smile slightly falters for a moment, "That's okay. See you tomorrow." He quickly says before walking out of the classroom, dodging Phil.

"Bye?" I say to myself, a bit confused by Alex's actions.

I grab my stuff, still a bit puzzled, and walk up to my beloved boyfriend Phil Lester. My full smile returns once his gaze meets mine, "Ready to go home?" He asks, a glint in his eyes.

"I'm ready if you're ready."

~

"So uh...what were you and Alex talking about?" Phil worryingly asks as he sits on the sofa.

I take my attention away from playing with Jaxon and his Legos with a confused face, "What do you mean, Love?" I question, my lips twitching upwards at the use of pet names.

"Danny, you gotta make the explosion sound." Jaxon tugs on my shirt.

"Hold on Winnie." I tell him, and Jaxon pouts but listens.

"I don't know it's just...you guys seemed a bit...never mind." Phil sighs, and goes back to the book he's reading.

I frown a bit before kissing Jaxon's forehead, "Be right back." I whisper, and stand up, walking over to Phil on the couch. I sit on my knees next to Phil. The side of his body to my front. I lean in, partially blocking the view of his book. Phil's gaze meets my deep one, and he chews his bottom lip, "It was nothing important." I tell him, placing a soft kiss to his lips.

"But he looked so into yo-" I cut Phil off by another kiss, this one much deeper. He instantly stops talking, and allows me to kiss him all I want. It's really my only way of showing Phil that what I have with him is worth so much more to me than my relationship for the beautiful boy in history.

After a kiss to Phil's jaw, I sit back, still staring at him, "It was nothing important." I quietly tell him again.

"But-" I kiss Phil once more, and I'll keep doing it until he stops worrying.

"Nothing." I emphasis with a sound of pleading in my tone, "Nothing." I kiss Phil's cheek, "Nothing." I kiss Phil's lips, "Nothing." I kiss Phil's jaw, "Nothing." I kiss Phil's neck.

"Nothing." Phil quietly says back. I nod, "I'm sorry for being so paranoid. I just thought that he was looking at you a certain way. That's all." He chews his lip.

I place another quick kiss onto Phil's lips before getting off of the sofa, and back over to Jaxon. Honestly, I don't blame Phil for being so paranoid. Today I got a good glimpse of how Alex looks at me, and it's worrying. It's in a predator kind of way. Not a 'This person is cute awh.' kind of way and it scares me.

I won't come out and say this, obviously. I don't want to worry anyone, especially Phil. I'm sure that this whole thing will go away soon.

~

"Have I ever told you how beautiful you are?" Phil whispers as he runs his index finger over one of my collarbones.

My cheeks turn crimson, "...Maybe." I mumble, and burry my face into my pillow.

"Have I ever told you why I think you're beautiful?"

"Kinda."

"Do you think you're beautiful?"

I don't respond.

"Dan?"

Still nothing.

"You really should. It can be nice to view yourself the way the rest of the world does." He tells me.

"Hey Phil?" I finally speak.

"Hm?"

I peck the tip of his nose, "You're beyond beautiful. Especially when you smile at me." I whisper, before closing my eyes.

Phil wraps his arms tightly around me, and brings me closer to him. I burry my head into his chest as he places his head in the crook of my neck.

"I love you." He says.

"I love you too." I say.

"I'm sorry for everything I've done to ever hurt you." Phil sadly says.

"Shush you numpty. Don't ruin the cute moment."

Phil chuckles, "Okay, okay, I won't."

After that, Phil stays silent, and so do I. We stay silent in our own little safe place. Protected in our own bubble from the brute force of the awful things in the world. The awful things in this not-so-nice neighborhood.

Although, I've come to realize that it's not as bad as it seems. Sure, there are some questionable people, but most are here for the same reason Phil is: Money. Like Mrs. Baker. She is one of the nicest ladies I've ever met, and you'd never expect someone as kind and old as her to be living in a place like this. It's comforting and homey.

~

I tightly hug Phil, nuzzling into the crook of his neck. He happily hugs me back with just as much affection, "I was wondering if you wanted to go out for dinner tonight. Just you and me." I shyly say, "Or not. I mean, you may not even like eating out that much and-"

Phil chuckles, cutting me off, "Shut up you twit." He smiles, "I'd love to go out for dinner with you. Where would you like to go?"

I smirk, "That is going to be a surprise, thank you very much." I laugh, knowing that this will drive Phil into insanity. He hates not being in control of things.

"I hate you so much." He fake grimaces, but ends up smiling anyway, "What has brought up all of this lovey dovey stuff? You're never like this. I've always seen you as the 'Stay at home movie' kind of guy." Phil asks.

"Well..." I say. I can't tell him the truth, obviously. The truth being guilt about Alex. I've been trying to make it so that he doesn't have a thing for me anymore, which means spending time with him secretly while trying to act as annoying as possible. I think it's working...sort of, "Can I not just spend a nice afternoon with the person I love?" I innocently ask with a smile.

"Okay, okay." Phil chuckles, "Just promise not to drink too much, alright?"

"No promises."

~

"Hey." Alex mouths while smiling as I enter the room. He watches me closely as I continue to walk over to my seat.

"Hi." I say, shuffling around under Alex's sharp gaze with his brightly colored eyes.

"Do you have any plans for tonight?" He asks.

My heart rate quickens, my mind spinning. Alex always seems to do this to me. I want to say yes, yet the look he's giving me is making me want to say no. How the hell is this boy controlling me like a little lap dog? When Phil controls how I think, it's a good kind of control. But Alex's feels downright manipulative, "No." I blurt out, my eyes widening in fear. His smile is completely evil, "Yes. I mean, yes. I do in fact have plans for tonight. Important ones too." I defiantly tell him.

His face changes. He looks aggravated. "Let me guess, it's with that Phil guy. The one who has a leash tightly wrapped around your neck." Alex spits.

He's just like Mathew...only much, much worse. I'm petrified, "I need to go." I whisper with tears clouding my vision.

Quickly, I jump up from my seat after grabbing my stuff, and run out of the classroom. It's like I can still feel Alex's eyes borrowing into me, searching through my mind. Looking through every thought that I've had and keep having. He can see right through me. Why the hell did I even choose to befriend Alex? Was it his looks? The way he dressed? His mystery glare that's slowly turning into a psychotic one the more I think about him? I shake my head vigorously with fear and distaste.

I want Phil. I want him to be with me, protect me. I don't care if people say that he has a leash on me. He's mine, and I'm his, and I need him right now.

As I continue to quickly find his class, I feel the urge to shout his name. My breathing becomes heavy, and my shirt starts to feel tight.

No no no.

Ryan.

Stop.

Ryan.

Stop.

Ryan.

"Stop!" I shout while gripping my head.

The world stands still. Everything seems to go in slow motion. I'm guessing that Phil overheard my shouts as he sprints out of a classroom door. He crashes into my weightless feeling body, and he holds me tightly. His arms wrap around my shoulders. I begin to loudly cry, soaking his warm jumper.

I hear voices all around us, my stomach dropping at how psychotic I must look. How insane I appear to be, "I'm sorry, Miss. I don't know what got into him. I'm going to take him home." Phil urgently tells a teacher as he pulls me out of the hallway.

We make it out of the school gates, Phil's hand still firmly grasped around my wrist. It's only when we get inside his car that Phil finally speaks, "What the hell was that?" He asks.

I whimper at his use of words, "Alex- I- He- I'm sorry..."

Phil's eyes fill with fear, "What did he do?" Phil frantically asks and leans over the control panel between our chairs, "Did he hurt you?" He continues, searching my face for any signs of bruises.

"H-He didn't hurt me it's just- the way that he was staring at me it was...vicious and evil, and he started getting really mad at me for saying that I had plans for tonight. Especially since they were plans with you. Phil, he scared me. Petrified me. Brought up things that I even haven't told you yet..."

"What did he make you say...?" Phil cautiously asks, his face still close to mine.

"I didn't say anything. He just brought back memories that I don't want to remember." I whisper, "Please, take me home." I plead, "I just want to go home. I'll try to explain everything in detail. Just...please."

Phil nods before kissing my cheek, "I'm sorry that this is happening. You don't deserve it, Dan." Phil sadly tells me before turning the car on, and driving away.

I'M SO SORRY THAT THIS UPDATE IS CRAP YET HAS SORT OF A CLIFFHANGER DON'T THROW TOMATOES AT ME THIS ISN'T THE RENAISSANCE. (Sadly)

While writing this update, I was listening to Cry Baby (ofc jfc I'm Melanie Trash) and songs such as Teddy Bear, Tag You're It, and Cry Baby sparked the idea for this chapter as I was writing.

This book seems to be taking a sharp left turn from what I had originally planned all those months ago, and I think I like it better like this. -J
