Chapter 21- Jealousy
"So...how do you like that Alex kid?" Phil oddly asks me as we walk into the daycare center to pick up Jaxon.
I look up at Phil with uncertainty, "I like him. He's really cool, and likes all of the things that we do." I tell him.
Phil nods, and sweetly smiles at the 18 year old girl behind the counter, "I'm here to pick up Jaxon." He says.
The girl looks Phil up and down with a knowing smirk, and a slight gleam in her eye. Phil flirtatiously smiles back, and winks at her, my protective side coming out. I look at Phil with a 'Are you shitting me right now?? I will kill you.' kind of look, and I give the girl a death stare. She instantly stops flirting with my Phil before going into the back.
I stay staring at the door, burrowing into it with my eyes. My gaze being strong, and filled with anger. Why the hell was Phil even acting like that? Wow I must not be as special to Phil as he is to me. Well done Dan, getting too close to someone as usual.
Phil looks down at me with pleading eyes, "Dan, I-"
I put my hand up, so he stops talking, "Save it, Lester. I'm going into the car. Get your son by yourself. It may give you some time to flirt some more." I hiss, and quickly walk out of the daycare center with furry still clear in my actions and tone.
Minutes pass, and I finally begin to calm down. Was I over reacting? Maybe I was. It's not my fault. I'm protective of Phil. If he thinks that he can flirt with any attractive girl he can find while we're a thing, I'm going to have a problem.
Finally, Phil opens up the back seat door on my side, placing a sleepy Jaxon into his car seat. He looks over at me with hopeful eyes, but I quickly look away. I'm not going to forgive him that easily. Phil sadly looks down for a second before closing the car door, getting in on the driver side.
"Dan, you know I didn't-"
"I don't care what you have to say. Take me home." I demand, my definition of home being a bit confusing. I spend more time at Phil's house than mine now. So what is my home?
Phil doesn't speak, but starts the car. He begins to quickly drive, making me alarmed. Sure, the roads are empty so we won't get hurt, by why is Phil even considering driving like this? Is he mad? Am I making him mad?
Dan, you don't need to say sorry. You're not the one who messed up.
~
Phil pulls into his driveway, and I give him an agitated look, "I said take me home." I sternly tell him.
"...This is your home." Phil softly says, making my face soften, "At least it can be your home." He chews his lip.
I let out a long sigh while staring into the depths of Phil Lester's blue eyes, "...This'll be my home." I whisper.
Phil's eyes brighten, and he softly kisses my before opening up his door. He walks over to Jaxon's side, opening it up. Phil unbuckles Jaxon from his car seat, and picks him up. Jaxon rustles around in Phil's arms, making me giggle as I get out of the car.
Phil, and I walk side by side as we enter our house, "I'll take Jaxon to bed for his nap." I whisper, not wanting to wake him up. Phil smiles at me, and carefully places Jaxon into my arms, "We also have some things to discuss." I grimly tell him while chewing my lip before walking into Jaxon's bedroom.
"Are you and daddy fighting?" Jaxon sadly whispers in a sleepy tone.
My eyes widen, but I end up sighing, "I don't know, Winnie. I wouldn't call it fighting...not yet at least." I tell him.
"I don't like it when you fight." He whimpers, making me frown, and place a soft kiss onto his forehead.
"We're not going to fight, I promise. Now sleep so you can take your nap, and you won't be grumpy later." I him, and bop his nose.
"Sing me a song?"
"Always." I smile.
I decide to sing FOOLS by Troye Sivan. It is a odd choice to sing that song to a 2 year old, but it's helping me cope with the whole flirting-while-dating-the-person-who-fought-for-you kind of situation.
After finishing the soft tune of the song, I stand up and walk over to leave the room. I'm met with Phil's tear stained face. This makes me frown, confused, "Was that song directed towards me?" He quietly asks in a broken tone.
My heart cracks, vigorously shaking my head, "No. Oh god no."
Phil sighs, "You don't have to lie, Dan. I know when you're lying."
I grab Phil's hand, and drag him out of Jaxon's room, quickly shutting the door behind me, "Jaxon doesn't like hearing us fight." I tell Phil.
"You hate me." He whispers, not paying attention to what I just told him.
"I could never hate you." I lightly smile, "Am I mad? Yes, very. It just hurt seeing you doing something like that. I don't think you realize how much you mean to me. I don't blame you...I've been in this relationship a lot longer than you have." My eyes widen at what I just said, and Phil clearly heard what I had just applied.
"I see how it is. You're still going to use the whole Jamie thing against me, aren't you? How many times do I have to say sorry? How many times do I have to tell you that I love you? Why can't you get it through your thick skull that I'm with you, not her." Phil snaps.
My eyes begin to water, anger beginning to boil inside of me, "Never." I coldly say, "No matter how many times you tell me, I'll always be hurt by what you did to me!" I shout.
"I didn't even know that I was doing anything! Mr. I Hide All of My Feelings!" He shouts back, making me hurt even more, and angrier.
"It's my only line of defense when I'm scared!" I yell as the tears begin to fall.
"You're scared a lot aren't you?! 'I'm scared. Might as well starve myself because that'll help me!'!"
That's it.
"How dare you?" I growl, stepping closer to Phil, "How dare you say something like that to me? How dare you flirt with a basic bitch in front of the person who you apparently love oh so dearly?!" Our faces are now inches apart, "You could've at least tried to hide it. God, I hate you right now." I search Phil's cold face, "I'm leaving." Before I can turn to go, Phil tightly grasps my wrist.
"Do you want to know why I did what I did?" Phil asks, his eyes becoming hopeless, "I did it because I was jealous." He tells me, making me puzzled.
"...Jealous of what?" I ask as my anger begins to subside.
Phil looks down, his blue eyes out of sight, "Alex." He says, "I'm scared that you're going to leave him for me. We used to be friends when I went to my old school. He was there. Alex so talented, and so much more attractive than me. How could you not leave me for him?" He sadly says, his voice cracking a few times, "Have you seen the way he looks at you?" He adds.
My face softens, and I wrap my arms tightly around Phil, engulfing him in my arms, "I like you for you." I whisper into his shoulder, "Please don't think otherwise. I'll never leave you." I say, my eyes beginning to water because I know how Phil feels. I know the hopeless feeling of the person you love leaving you for someone so much better. Although Alex isn't better than Phil. No one is, "I'm sorry for yelling at you."
"Don't say sorry. Please please don't say sorry. This all started because of my stupid brain- hey, why are you crying?" Phil lightly lifts my head, showing my tear stained face. He sadly smiles before placing a soft heart felt kiss onto my lips, "I can't even begin to fathom how terrible I feel. I meant nothing that I said. Nothing."
"But what you said was right." I whimper, "I'm pathetic. Always have been, always will."
"You aren't pathetic, Dan. Far from. What's pathetic is me hurting you with my jealousy. You don't understand how I feel right now. Just, fuck I love you."
I don't respond, I only squeeze my eyes shut, and hug Phil tightly. A bitter taste fills my mouth, and I swallow constantly to make it go away, but it won't. I look up at Phil again, and quickly place my lips onto his. The bitter taste that wouldn't leave almost instantly does so.
Phil, my antidote.
~
Phil's chest slowly rises and falls as my head lays right over his heart. His heart rate is quickened, yet his breathing calm. What a beautiful sight to see. Just Phil. No barriers. Me, and him. Him, and I.
I honestly don't know what to think. All I know is that as we lay together, limbs tangled, breaths mingling in silence, that I've never loved anyone like this. I thought I loved Ryan, but god was I wrong. What I have with Phil, it's beautiful almost. Breath taking. To me, at least.
Phil begins to run his hand up and down my bare arm, making me sigh in bliss.
I'm so happy.
A small smile etches onto my face, and I plant a kiss onto Phil's neck. Phil happily giggles, making me want to cry.
So fucking beautiful.
"Dan, what's wrong? Did I do something? I-I-" Phil frantically asks as one of my tears fall onto his bare chest.
"Shush." I smile, "I'm crying because I'm happy. I'm so happy. More happy than I've been since I can remember. You don't- I don't- I need to stop being such a sop." I say, blushing.
Phil cups my face, and lifts my head up so I meet his gaze. He lovingly smiles down at me, his pupils huge, "I think you're just fine." He whispers while tracing around my lips with his thumb, "More than I could ask for...I can't believe that I'm with the dork in the back of the classroom." Phil smiles, "The one who was obsessed with staring out the window." He adds with a light chuckle, making me stick my tongue out at him.
"I'm with the dark asshole." I retort, making Phil make a face of mock horror, "But whatevs. I thought you were cute." I shrug.
"You thought I was cute?" He asks with his eyebrows raised, a pink coming over his face.
"Well, duh." I say nonchalantly, "What did you think of me when we first made eye contact?"
"You made me feel...odd. In a bad way too. Well, I wouldn't call it bad bad just, different, I guess. It was a little frightening. Hence, why I was so awful to you. I still regret acting that way till this day, but never once did I think that I'd be taking something so valuable away from you..." He quietly explains while staring at the ceiling, his voice trailing off. Soon, the corners of his mouth twitch upwards, "You could say that you turned me gay." Phil laughs, his eyes squinting as his chest jumps.
I laugh along with him, a warm feeling welling in my chest. A feeling of loving someone, and being loved back.
~
"Hey Phil? Do you want to get Chinese takeaway?" I call through the house. A pair of arms snake around my waist, and I lovingly lean into the touch like a baby kitten. I let out a quiet sigh of happiness, content with my life at this point. It's amazing how the boy behind me changed all of this. Phil places a soft kiss onto my neck, making me giggle while squirming around, "We were having a cute moment." I pout before turning around to face the blue eyed boy that now stands in front of me.
"I think we'll have many cute moments in the future." He smiles, and gently kisses me. I'm quick to comply, and loosely wrap my arms around Phil's neck as he tightly holds my waist. The kiss deepens greatly, but we have to sadly pull away for air, "I love your collarbones." He smirks before planting a rough kiss onto the love bite that's already formed.
"Daddy I'm thirsty." Says a tiny voice from the living room doorway. Phil and I quickly untangle ourselves from each other, and I'm quick to hide my collarbones.
"I'll get you a glass of water." Phil worriedly says, his face draining of all color. He quickly turns around and walks into the kitchen.
I crouch down to Jaxon's height, and lightly smile at him, "Did you have a good nap?"
Jaxon nods while sleepily rubbing his groggy eyes, "Why did you and daddy fight earlier?" He quietly asks.
I chew on my lip, "...You don't need to worry about us fighting anymore." I cautiously say, a smile forming on my face as I hear familiar footsteps, "Phil and I aren't going to fight for a while. It may just be some bickering. I mean, that's what roommates do."
"Here you go Lion." Phil says, and hands Jaxon the cup of water. I stand back up and peck Phil's lips as I do so. He hugs me by my waist, and I place my sweater paws onto his chest. Our noses bump together, and my eyes lightly close as I lay my head onto Phil's shoulder.
"I love you." I whisper.
"I love you too." Phil answers, a sound of him smiling being clear in his voice.

wOw IT'S BEEN A WHILE SINCE I'VE UPDATED.
I feel like a lot of stuff happened in this, yet it wasn't written out in a decent way...idk I'll shut up. Although I did tear up while writing this oops.
Btw, I'm working on a project for when this fic ends. ;) I think you'll like the ending to this fic...*cough*
Honestly, I don't wanna end this story. I enjoy writing it for the most part, but each world that I write has to be ended and put aside at some point. Wow that sounded deep. Much deep. Much wow.
I'll stop now. -J
