Chapter Seven

“Crap…” Dean muttered under his breath, putting his blinker on and pulling onto the shoulder of the road.  The sounds from the police car stopped as Dean saw the officer get out of his car.  Dean turned around as saw the nervous look of Castiel and an angry look from Sam.

“I don’t want to say it, but, I told you so,” Sam said, angrily.

“Yeah, I get it,” Dean mumbled under his breath.

“Do you know why I pulled you over, Son?” The officer asked.

“No,” Dean tried.  Maybe he didn’t know it was them.

The officer blinked and when he opened his eyes, they were black.  Demon.  Dean realized Sam and Castiel probably couldn’t tell.

“This town is pretty crazy.  Like- watermelon in the sky crazy,” Dean said.  ‘Watermelon in the sky is their way of saying ‘there’s a demon right here and I can’t say anything about it because there’s a demon right here.’

Sam stared at the police officer that they’ve now identified as a demon without him knowing.

“We’re going to have to take you boys into the police station,” The demon said.

Castiel didn’t know it was a demon, so Sam had to whisper it to him without the officer realizing.  When Castiel heard, he panicked and jumped out of the car.

“Castiel!” Sam hollered at him and tried to grab him, but it was too late.

The officer/demon frantically grabbed at his Taser.

“No!” Dean shouted and tried to slam the Taser out of his hands, but he couldn’t.

They heard the cry of the angel.  Dean and Sam both know that it wouldn’t kill him, but they also knew that if he was hurt enough, the demon would be able to get the jump on him.

Dean thought quickly and grabbed the knife that would kill demons while the ‘officer’ was distracted and stabbed the officer, killing him.

            “Cas!” Dean yelled.

They couldn’t see Castiel but they could hear him, he was whimpering loudly.

Dean ran over to him, leaving Sam behind.

“Are you okay?” Dean asked Castiel when he got to him.

“Yes, Dean,” Castiel struggled to say, “I’m fine.”

Castiel had his hand over his leg where the Taser hit him.  Dean started to move his hand to look at the wound.

“C’mon, Cas.  We have to go before anyone else finds us.”

“Okay, Dean,” Castiel stood as he struggled to get up.  Dean saw this and put one arm under Castiel’s knees and the other arm under Castiel neck, picking him up bridal style.

“What are you doing?” Castiel asked.

“I’m baking a friggin’ pie, what’s it look like I’m doing," Dean said as he carried Castiel back to the car.  He gently set him down in the back seat.

“Let’s go,” Sam said, hurrying them.

Dean hopped in the front seat and drove off.

A/N: I'm sorry this chapter is so short.  The next one will be better.
