Chapter One
“Why don’t you remember?” Castiel mutters under his breath.
“What?” Sam asks.
“Don’t worry about it, Sam. You need to finish making Dean better, then we’ll get out of here,” Castiel said, avoiding eye contact with Sam and Dean.
Sam nodded, and continued to clean and tend to Dean’s wound. It was obvious it was still bothering Sam, but Castiel kept quiet.
Castiel stared at Dean, begging him with his eyes to remember.
Dean grabbed the bottle of cheap beer and took a quick sip of it as Cas licked his lips.
“Can I help you, Cas?”
“I don’t know,” Cas said then turned around and walked out the door before anyone could say a word.
“What was that all about?” Sam pestered Castiel.
“Sam…” Castiel begged, “Please don’t ask.”
Sam sighs, but he understands.
“Sam,” Castiel gets his attention, “do you mind if I sit in the front?”
Sammy hesitated, “I guess…”
“Thank you, Sam,” a slight smile glistened on Castiel’s face.
Dean was listening to Highway to Hell when he caught Castiel staring at him again. Dean glares at Castiel slightly and leans forward, turning off the radio. “Dude, what’s your problem?” Dean asked, almost angrily.
Castiel snaps back into reality. “What?”
“You can’t answer a question with another question, Cas,” Dean says, looking over at him, staring into Castiel’s bright blue eyes.
“Right…” Castiel says. “I have no issue.”
“You’ve been staring at me all day. What is it? Do I have broccoli in my teeth?”
“When was the last time you had broccoli?” Sam laughs.
Castiel stays silent and stares out the window as he hears Dean turn the radio back on.
