*Daryl*

I held Adelyne close to my chest as she buried her face and sobbed. She was clinging to my shirt and others were in shock. Even Carl wasn't crying he was just looking down ashamed. I knew what he had to do and it ripped me to the core. Rick was still curled up on the ground and Maggie was crying with Glenn holding her. I ran a hand through Adelyne's hair and kissed the top of her head. We stayed this way for a minute or two. That's when I noticed Rick get up and I pulled away from Adelyne for a moment and walked over to him. He looked shocked and in a daze just hazy I waved my hand in front of his face.

"Rick you with me?" I asked.

He didn't say anything but he stood there still looking out of it. I was worried I had no idea what to do.

"Let me see the baby" Herhsel said and Beth brought her over to him.

Hershel got a faint smile.

"What are we going to feed it? We got anything a baby can eat?" I asked.

"Good news is shes healthy. But she needs formula soon or she won't survive."

"Lori asked me to keep a look out I haven't had much luck" Maggie told me.

"No not her. We ain't losing another one."

Suddenly Adelyne's voice caught my attention.

"Dad!"

Rick picked up an axe and went back into the prison Adelyne ran to follow him and I Glenn stopped her telling her to just let him go. I was going on a run and I was bringing Maggie with me instead of Adelyne. She needed to be with Carl right now. I called over Beth.

"Look Adelyne and Carl just lost their mom. There dads not doing to hot-"

"I'll watch over them."

I nodded and kissed Adelyne goodbye who lightly kissed back. Aww she was hurt. Then Maggie and I got onto my bike and drove off.

*Third Person*

Adelyne had a shovel and was digging a grave for Lori. She was lifting up dirt throwing it in a pile. Lori's body was covered up and laying to the side so Adelyne could move it in when she was finished. It was still so hard to believe Lori was gone. Sometimes Adelyne wouldthink of something and immediately go to tell her. Only then she realised she wasn't around. This was bullshit. Everyone she cared about so far had died. Katie her sweet girl. The most important person in her life was gone. She couldn't even keep her safe. Tdog was gone and now so was Lori. The closest person she had to a mother. Her real mother disowned her when she got pregnant. Then when Adelyne left her boyfriend and got arrested for shoplifting Rick, and Lori took her in and loved her as her own. Adelyne still remembered the day she went into labor.

--Flashback--

Adelyne sat on the couch with the popcorn bowl balanced on her pregnant belly watching a movie with Lori. It was about three in the morning and they half watched the movie and half talked.

"So what did the doctor say?" Lori asked popping a piece of popcorn in her mouth.

Adelyne groaned leaving her head back on the couch.

"She said that it should be anyday now. Im over due by like two days and let me tell you I feel like a beached wall whenever I get out of bed" she told her.

Lori chuckled and moved her hair away from her face.

"Well it'll be soon and then you'll have your babygirl in your arms."

Adelyne smiled rubbing the side of her stomach and looked at Lori.

"I know. I'm so happy I can't wait to meet her and-- oh!"

Adelyne shot up the popcorn falling to the floor forgotten. She held her stomach. Lori leaned up and put her hand on her back,

"Honey are you okay?" She asked.

"Lori...can you drive me to the hospital?" She asked.

"Why?"

"My water just broke."

Instantly kicked into gear waking up Rick and he got Carl who whined but got up. Rick was instantly by Adelyne's side and she held her stomach wincing as she felt a contraction. Lori was starting the car and Carl was pulling on his shoes.

"Ow!!" She screamed.

"Okay lets go. You have to walk come on" Rick explained walking her to the car with Carl.

Lori got out and ran to Adelyne opening the back door and got in with her and Carl while Rick drove.

"Uhh mother fuc-"

Lori clamped her hand over Adelyne's mouth to stop her. And they drove to the hospital.

--End of flashback--

Adelyne returned to reality and started to cry and dig faster and harder. Finally she exploded and screamed throwing her crossbow across the feild as she sobbed. Suddenly she was grabbed from behind amd taken to the ground in a tight embrace.

"Adelyne it's okay. Calm down shh" came Carols soothing voice.

Still Adelyne sobbed and while Carol held her.

*Daryl*

I was riding back with Maggie we had found formula thank god. I had also caught a possum so that was a bonus. All I was thinking about was if Adelyne was okay. She had lost Lori and I knew she cared about her. Despite the mistakes that Lori made and she had made plenty we loved her. I cared about her, she got on my nerves but I cared for her as a friend. But I knew that Carl and Adelyne and Rick were devestated. And I was going to help anyway I could. I just hoped it would be enough. We pulled up to the prison and I parked my bike and Maggie and I got off. Entering the prison I scanned for Adelyne and she was there with everyone and she was next to Beth who was holding the baby. Everyone looked at us when Maggie and I entered. Beth immediately stood up along and walked over to me and Adelyne sat where she was. I held the baby and Beth went to go make her formula quickly and handed it to me. I smiled down at the baby in my arms. I fed her the bottle

"Yeah...you like that babygirl?. You like that huh? Little ass kicker" I mumbled with a smile.

They all looked at me and I chuckled and so did everyone else. I glanced at Adelyne who was now standing by the cell door and she gave a faint smile and then walked away.
