*Daryl's POV*

I kissed her I had to kiss her she was alive, walking around and breathing. My fingers trailed on her soft bare back and I pulled her closer.

"Ah" she winced in pain and I pulled away.

"I'm sorry, you okay?"

"Yeah I'll be okay, nice to see you" she told me with a smile and I helped her back onto the bed.

"You had me worried sick" I told her sitting on the bed and putting my arm over her outstretched legs.

"Trust me getting shot wasn't on the agenda" Adelyne told me with a chuckle.

She was making jokes and I wasn't she really made me worried.

"Adelyne I'm not kiddin' you nearly scared me to death. You gave everyone a scare, I regretted not making you come with me. You said you'd be fine" I explained to her.

I nearly shed tears for this woman. Why did she have to make me feel so diffrent? Adelyne moved her brown eyes out of her eyes,

"And I am. Look at me I'm sitting right here in front of you" she told me with a slight smile.

I fummed and then took the flower out of my pocket and handed it to her shyly. Adelyne smiled and took it from me and examined it.

"It's so pretty thank you Daryl"

"It's a Cherookee rose. And it is very pretty...like you" I mumbled and Adelyne put her hand on my shoulder.

I moved closer to her and looked into her gorgeous eyes I was so happy I was looking at them. This meant she was here she was with me she wasn't gone. I was so close to losing her and I didn't want to ever find out she was shot ever again.

"You think I'm pretty?" Adelyne asked her cheeks blushing a bright red.

"I think you're beautiful' I murmered and before she could say anything else I took her in my arms again.

I made sure not to hurt her and I hugged her and shook a little bit.

"I was afraid" I whispered.

"What?"

" I thought I was going to lose you. I was terrified."

I was so scared so scared because...because I love you.

I didn't say it but my god did I want to. The realization hit me I loved her she was everything to me. Whenever I was around her I just felt better and I wanted her o feel better. She was the light in my life now, I loved looking at her exspecially when the light hit her just right making her look like she was angel. I pulled away and claimed her lips again and I pulled away leaning my forehead against hers.

"I will protect you. From now on you stay with me by my side. Do you understand me?" I asked.

Adelyne nodded and that's when Hershel came in to check on her. I kissed her and told her I'd be back I had to go talk to Rick about something.
