*Daryl's POV*

I rushed off my motorcycle just as Rick and Lori came out onto the porch I brushed past them and inside.

"Where is she?" I asked worried.

They followed me inside and Rick stopped me and I glared at him.

"What?"

"This is Hershel and this is his house" Rick introduced.

At the moment I honestly didn't care who he was. I was more interested in Adelyne. Where was she? I turned to Hershel.

"Where is Adelyne?" I asked.

"Are you her boyfriend?" he asked,

I didn't know how to respond to that. I just looked at him and he lead me into the room where Adelyne was and my heart hurt. I rushed over to her side and took her face in my hands and looked at her. Adelyne was unconcious and the only thing that was covering her chest was her bra and her hair. My fingertips brushed her face and I looked around and everyone had let me have privacy with her. I took her hand and kissed her knuckles and ran her hand along my face feeling her soft skin on my face.

"Adelyne you told me you'd be okay. You got to pull through come on wake up and talk to me please" I begged.

I waited several mintues and after I got no response I placed a kiss on her lips and walked out where everyone was waiting.

"Someone tell me what's going on" I demanded.

"Adelyne was shot by a man Otis and he told us about this man and we met Hershel who has been helping her." Rick explained.

My exspression hardened.

"Where's this Otis guy? I want to talk to him" my tone was harsh.

Rick put a hand on my shoulder and I pushed it off,

"He left. He went with Shane to get the things they need to save Adelyne's life" Lori explained.

My eyes got wide and I looked at both of them and then stormed up to the old man and Rick stood behind me like a guard dog.

"She could die?" I asked my tone soft but also harsh.

"Yes sir. I have to wait until they get back to go through with the operation. If I try without the stuff it's very unlikely she will survive."

"So what we're waiting hoping she doesn't die while we're waiting?" I asked mad.

How can people just sit here and do nothing? It was killing me, Adelyne could not die.

"Daryl's there's nothing we can do but wait right now" Rick told me and I paced the floor.

"Has she even woken up yet?" I asked.

"Aside from where she was screaming in pain no."

"Pain?"

"I had to remove a shallow bullet fragment and she regained conciousness and started screaming in pain as soon as I peirced the skin" Hershel explained.

"So you're the one that caused her pain."

I started to advance toward him but Lori put her hand on my chest and looked at me.

"Calm down he had to do it. Just relax okay?"

I backed up and paced the floor.

Night had fallen TDog and Glenn arrived and Tdog was getting his arm stitched in the kitchen. Lori, Rick, and I all waited in the living room I sat in a chair and Rick and Lori sat against the wall. Carl was sitting with me on the couch waiting as well as he cried softy. Suddenly we heard coughing and we all shot up rushing into Adelyne's room where she was awake and breathing frantically. Her eyes met mine and looked around the room.

"Where--where are we?" she asked.

I took her hand and her fingers curled around my hand and I kissed her knuckles.

"Hey sweetie, this is Hershel we're in his house. You had an accident" Rick soothed her in a fatherly tone.

She writhed a little.

"It.Hurts. A. Lot"

Lori ran a hand through her hair

"Oh honey I know."

Her head turned in my direction and she managed a weak smile.

"You came?"

"Of course I did baby" I kissed her hand once more.

She seen Carl who stood at the end of the bed with a sad look.

"Carl..look I don't want you to be scared, I'm going to be....okay I promise."

It was sweet she didn't want him to be worried she looked back at Rick.

"Hey Rick I..."

Suddenly all signs of life left her and I looked at her scared just as everyone else. Her eyes were still open and then she started moving uncontorablly on the bed. Rick and I went to hold her down.

"Don't it a seiszure if you hold her down you could hurt her" Hershel explained to us.

"You can't stop it?!" I yelled.

"She has to just go through it" he told us.

Lori hugged Rick not being able to look away much like me. As soon as it was over Adelyne's body stopped and she laid there again unconcious. Hershel examined her and sighed.

"Her brain isn't getting enough blood."

More time passed and I was getting anxious Rick said that Shane and this man had been gone for hours. Hershel was taking Adelyne's blood pressure again. I listned to the air hiss from whatever he was using.

"Pressure's dropping again. We can't wait much longer" Hershel told us.

"Take some more whatever she needs then I'm gonna go" Rick said.

We all looked at him shocked.

"Go?" I asked.

"Go where?" Lori asked just as confused as me.

"He said five miles. They should be long back by now. Something went wrong."

Lori looked at him with wide eyes.

"Are you insane? you're not going after them."

For the first time I actaully agreed with Lori it wasn't a good idea at all.

"Rick listen to your wife" Hershel told him.

"If they got into trouble--"

"You're in no condition to do anything about it" I said interupting him.

"He's right. You've given too much blood you're barely on your feet. You wouldn't make it across the yard" Hershel explained educating him.

Rick looked at Lori with desperation in his eyes.

"If something happened I need to go."

Lori walked closer to him.

"No your place is here. If Shane said he'll be back he'll be back he's like you that way."

"I can't just sit here."

"That's exactly what you do! If you need to pray or cry or tell God he's cruel you go right ahead but you're not leaving Rick. Adelyne needs you-- and I can't do this on my own." Lori told him.

It suprised me that she raised her voice it even made Carl wake up from his sleep on the couch. Rick pulled her into a hug and I just sat by Adelyne's bedside holding her hand. They needed to make it back they needed to, I kissed her hand and layed my head on her hand and mine.

"Adelyne please you need to pull through. Please don't leave me" I said softly so no one could hear.
