*Adelyne's POV*

I was walking across the forrest floor holding up my crosswbow looking for something to catch so I could bring it back to camp for my friend Mike and my seven year old daughter Katie was with him. I sighed and looked around the food here was running scarce. We had to move somewhere else soon but right now this was were we had stayed because there had been food here. My main concern was keeping Katie alive. She was my whole world and I didn't want to lose her she was going to stay safe and I was going to make sure of that. I would lay down my life for her, she was all I cared about. Well I cared about Mike as well he was my best friend and he was amazing and he loved Katie as well. I spotted a rabbit and sowly I began walking towards it and had it aimed I was perfectly still and that's when I heard a stick snap behind me. I dropped my crossbow and pulled out my gun and straightened with it aimed. I waited and a few seconds later a man with a crossbow stepped out from behind from a tree. He was tall and scruffy with beautiful Georgia blue eyes. He was wearing a shirt that showed off his muscles I nearly gasped. This man was gorgeous and he had a crossbow like me which made him even more delicious. Adelyne stop it! this is no time to be drooling over a guy! His eyes stared me down and mine did the same even though he was studying over me not lusting over me.

"Who are you?" he asked.

I didn't lower my weapon just incase I had to shoot him. I wouldn't hesitate, harm to me meant harm to Katie and I wouldn't take that chance.

"Why who wants to know?" I asked looking this man up and down I couldn't stop. Damn

"I'm Daryl who are you?"

I took a deep breath and let it out with a sigh.

"I"m Adelyne"

Just then another man came up to Daryl and he smiled. He looked older he was almost bald and was scruffy as well. They shared the same blue eyes and the same facial structures. They had to be related somehow.

"Well what do we have here? Why don't you put that down darlin' before you hurt yourself" he chuckled and I slowly lowered my weapon.

"It just you out here?" Daryl asked.

"No way this girl survived on her own" the other man said.

"Exscuse me, who are you?" I asked glaring.

"Merle Dixon this is my brother Daryl, now my brother asked you a question" he snarled.

Merle was so lucky it wasn't just us two out here. I would've shot him already. Daryl I liked Daryl not only was he nice but he was hot and I could actually have a conversation with him. Merle opened his mouth and I wanted to punch him but I wouldn't do that.

"I heard him the first time" I retorted. "And no it's not just me. My friend Mike and my daughter Katie are back alone at the little camp we have set up. I was looking for food"

"You hunt?" Daryl asked.

I pushed my hair away from my eyes with a free hand.

"Yeah got a problem with it?"

"You any good?" he asked.

I shook my head and he nodded back at me and looked at his brother. They were communicating with their eyes and I knew that. My sister and I use to do it all the time before she moved to Florida to be with her boyfriend and start a family. I hadn't seen much of her since and there was no way to get a hold of her now.

"You want to come back with us? We have others a pretty decent size group, food, water, kids too. You're daughter won't have to go hungry."

Daryl just kept looking at me but that's not what irked me. It was the comment about my daughter going hungry.

"Exscuse me I provide for my daughter perfectly fine thank you" I snapped.

"Fiesty I like it" Merle chuckled nudging Daryl.

"But yes we would like to come with you. We need to gather our things"

"Lead the way" Daryl said.

I grabbed my crossbow and slung it over my chest and kept a grip on my gun just in case and led them back with me. Hoping everything would work out.

*Daryl's POV*

We walked back to Adelyne's camp with her and I couldn't stop looking at her she was gorgeous. If she was around where I came from she would be scooped up off the street and I'd never have a chance to talk to someone as beautiful as her. Wait what? stop it Daryl you don't feel you're a Dixon. Even though my mind was screaming at me my eyes wouldn't stay off her. Adelyne's hair was a dark brown and her eyes a feirce green. The sway of her hips as she walked in front of us with that crossbow on her back had me hypnotized. Damnit Daryl stop!

"Interested little brother?" Merle said quietly with a smirk.

I scuffed and rolled my eyes. But hell yeah I was she was very good looking and I'm sure there was more to this chick than just her looks.

"Pfft bitches like this one are only good for one thing" Merle told me whispering.

Was he scared of her? Usually he would say shit like this outloud but she could turn and kill us no doubt so I figured that was why he kept his voice down. Was he right? Were all women only good for one thing? When we approached the camp we seen one tent a man and a littlle girl who looked like Adelyne so I'm assuming this was Katie. The man stood up and pulled his gun and charged and immediatly I raised my crossbow Adelyne ran up and put her hands on his chest pushing him.

"Mike! Mike stop it's okay! put the gun down!"

He didn't lower his weapon but he did stop charging. This guy had no idea what he was getting himself into if he kept coming at us. I would shoot him and I wouldn't miss not at this range. Adelyne better be able to solve this.

"Who are you?!" Mike yelled.

"Mike lower the gun now!" Adelyne yelled locking eyes with him and he glared and then put his gun back in his holster.

"This is Daryl and Merle they're going to take us back to thier camp with people" she told him calmly.

"He just tried to kill us he ain't comin'" Merle told them and I stopped him.

"Shut up Merle."

Adelyne explained to him what had happened and how we had met. He seemed to believe her but he didn't seem to happy about it. Just by looking at this guy I could tell he was head over heels for Adelyne. Were they dating? Suddenly a little girl came running up to her.

"Mommy!" she yelled and Adelyne scooped her up in her arms and hugged her.

"Hey baby. This is Daryl and Merle we're going to go back to their camp. They have others more people. How does that sound?"

The girl looked at Merle and I. I looked at Adelyne she looked really good with Katie in her arms. And Adelyne looked great for a woman who had a kid. And Katie was a beauty just like her mother and she just sounded so adorable.

"Will there be people to play with?" Katie asked.

Merle scuffed and rolled his eyes. And smiled and nodded and Katie looked at Adelyne and smiled and kissed her cheek. Mike looked at me and then he looked away from us. I had a feeling I wasn't going to like this guy. I sure as hell didn't like the way he looked at Adelyne.

*Adelyne's POV*

Daryl and Merle led the way to their camp and Katie, Mike and I walked closely behind while I held Katie's hand. I kept looking at Daryl and was fighting my urge to smile but damn he was so good looking. I really needed to stop now was not the time to have my head up in the clouds. I looked over and notcied Mike was looking at me I suddenly felt embarassed and looked away and down on Katie. She looked tired,

"You okay sweetie?" I asked.

This caused everyone to stop and look at me and Katie. Her brown hair hung over her face.

"Yeah..I'm tired and hungry" she whimpered.

I crouched down and Katie crawled onto my back and I felt so bad. My daughter was hungry and there was nothing I could do about it right now. I looked at Mike wishing he knew how to use my crossbow and catch us something quickly.

"We can get er somethin' when we get back to camp" Daryl told me looking back as he kept walking.

"We almost there?" Mike asked.

"Almost" Daryl said roughly.

It suprised me that Merle had been silent and I knew that Mike didn't like Daryl and the feeling was the same with Daryl. Mike wasn't always easy to get along with at first. No one knows that better than me even I didn't like him at first. Mike looked at me again and I mouthed 'be nice' to him and he rolled his eyes. Damnit Mike don't ruin this for me. We approached the camp and immeditaly I seen more people and a big RV. There were people hanging laundry and kids playing. It looked like they were survivng here and it looked like a nice little set up.

"Just wait here" Daryl said and Merle made his way into the RV.

I put Katie down and she looked around and so did I. There was a great deal of more people it felt weird being around people because it had just been me, Katie and Mike for so long since the start of all this hell bascially. Suddenly Daryl came walking up with another man and a fimiliar face at that. The man was Rick Grimes.

*Daryl's POV*

I told Rick about the people who came back with Merle and I. As we walked up I seen Adelyne's mouth drop open in shock.

"Rick?" she said.

Rick laughed and walked up hugging her lifting her up off her feet.

"Adelyne oh my god you're alive"

She nodded and Rick set her down and knelt in front of Katie.

"Hey Katie" he hugged her and she gave him a great big smile.

"Where's Lori? Carl?" Adeylne asked.

I watched them smile and have their little reunion. So Adelyne knew Rick, how? That was going to bug me so she knew his family and the way he hugged her he cared about her. He shook Mike's hand they went to around and got introduced and I heard Carl scream with a smile running up to Adelyne who knelt down and hugged him. Lori smiled and hugged her too and Shane said hello to her but she didn't hug him like she did everyone else. Did she not like Shane?

"She's mine" a voice said behind me.

I turned around and seen Mike standing there glaring at me. What the hell was Adelyne to him property? She was a person. I glared at him back and grunted,

"Whatever."

Well Daryl and Merle find Adelyne and they get Katie and Mike back to camp. Daryl already has a attraction towards her and we find out Mike is determined to have Adelyne. And Adelyne knows Rick and his family what's the connection there?
