Red Strings 2/?

Wonsik flicked the cigarette bud from his fingers as it was burning short enough to make contact with his skin. He stomped it out on the floor as he let out a breath, ignoring the bruised body that laid on the floor, his ears listening intently to his surroundings.

So much for laying low, he scoffed.

He let out a shudder as the nights air hit him, the street lamp flickering bright above him.

Jung Taekwoon.

What a sight that man was. Weird personality, but interesting enough to grab Wonsiks attention. Lips and body that made Wonsiks mind imagine himself doing sinful things with him. Of course, he was a little too innocent that it was kind of unsettling, but Wonsik was understanding in a way. His parents seemed to have sheltered the fuck out of the kid that he didn't even think to question it once. Or maybe deep down he knew exactly why they were keeping him away from the world but didn't feel the need to delve deeper into it.

Either way, he was an interesting person to be around.

For selfish reasons, Wonsik felt the urge to corrupt him; to show him that the world isn't as bright and happy like he thinks. Maybe then would Taekwoon's devil come out to play.

Fate, he rolled his eyes, starting to stroll along, how delusional.

Taekwoon's fingers played with the sleeves of his sweater as he laid in feetle position on his bed, his eyes wandering over to the door as his parents chimed a goodbye.

Yesterday had been uneventful once he got home, besides the fact that he almost peed himself when lying to his parents. Thankfully enough, his parents had dismissed the situation, telling their precious son it wasn't his fault.

Thinking back, he remembered the words of the man he had met yesterday; a promise to meet today.

Taekwoon honestly hadn't meant to grab onto the Wonsik's hand as he turned away. His hand just gripped onto the man all on its own. To say he was flustered would be saying the very least but to say he wasn't happy that he did would be a lie. The softest smile graced the man's face, one that Taekwoon found fitting on the tattooed man.

The next words that left the man's lips made Taekwoon's heart race with a certain excitement, twisting a certain way that he could only describe as anticipation.

"See you tomorrow, yeah?"

He would be lying if he said he knew what the other meant by that. Was Wonsik expecting him to leave the house again? Was Wonsik going to come?

He sat upright on his, his legs swinging off the side as he stood up to make his way out to the living room. He stood there for a second before going back to his room.

He stood in his room for a few seconds, pondering on life. What was he suppose to do now that Miko was no longer here? He would usually tend and care for her to kill time until his parents came home.

He bit his lip nervously, glancing down at his attire before diverting his attention to his closet. Before he could make any movements, a tap on his front door sounded. He stared out to his living room with wide eyes, questioning if he had heard right.

It sounded again, louder this time.

Taekwoon took slow, cautious steps towards the front door, hands placed on the cold surface of it once he reached it. He jumped a little as whoever began knocking again, seeming to be impatient. His fingertips brushed against the lock as he peeked through the eyehole, his eyes settling on a familiar feeling.

A rush of adrenaline ran through his veins as his fingers tugged on the lock quickly, his other turning the knob.

He breathed as the cold air hit his face, a smile adorning it as he stared up at the slightly taller male in front of him.

"You ready to go explore the world, Angel?" Wonsik grinned, fixing the SnapBack that fitted snugly on his head, taking it off before putting it on backwards. He was cladded in a light blue flannel button up with a plain white t-shirt inside, along with light blue jeans that hugged his legs nicely.

"Explore?" Taekwoon asked, his grip on the handle tightening at the thought of leaving the house once more, this time on his own will.

"I said we'd meet up today, didn't I?" Wonsik raised a questioning brow. "Are you going to stand there or let me in?"

"Let you in?" Taekwoon was a little flustered, the other being here so unexpectedly affected him a little more than he'd like to admit.

"Or I can stay out here while you change. That works too I guess." Wonsik said, glancing dejectedly behind him as he shoved his hands into his front pockets.

"Uh... I'm not suppose to let..." Taekwoon paused. He had already broken the rule his parents reminded him about most so to hell with it,right? "Come in."

The smile that graced the others face made his guilt fly out the window. He moved to the side, almost becoming one with the door as the other strided in, glancing around the home. He leaned against the wall, taking his shoes off before glancing back at the other, "Are you going to close the door?" Taekwoon closed it. "... Are you going to change...?"

"O-oh, yes, that's right. Change." Taekwoon's choppy sentence made the other grin, hand reaching out. Taekwoon flinched a little, retreating back as he closed his eyes. He didn't know exactly what he was waiting for but he peeked an eye open as a hand caressed his almond hair softly. Opening both eyes, he stared at Wonsik questioning who only laughed in return. His one last ruffle of his hair and a finger gingerly touching his cheeks, Wonsik patted him on the shoulder.

"Go."

Taekwoon nodded, a hand coming up to fix his hair that he was sure the other had messed up. He mumbled something that was incoherent not only to the other but to himself too as he pointed to the couch that sat in the living room.

Wonsik chuckled as the other sped off into the room closest to the living room, shutting the door behind him hastily. He slowly made his way to the couch, not actually sitting down as he glanced around, looking for anything out of place. He didn't exactly have anything in mind specific, maybe a camera or two. He would be lying if he were to say he wasn't expecting chains and locks on the windows to keep the man inside the house. After getting comfortable with his surroundings of a cozy home, he sat down on the couch, his legs spread apart out of habit as his elbows made contact with his knees, phone in hand.

He spent a few minutes fumbling with his phone, glancing over once in awhile with a raised brow as loud bangs happened from the man's room, a timid 'sorry' making him roll his eyes each time.

After what seemed like ten minutes of wrestling with his clothes, Taekwoon finally came out of his room. Wonsik glanced up from his phone, making eye contact with the flustered elder who was gripping at the hair on the nape of his neck. He was dressed in a sweater with sleeves long enough to cover his pale hands of the other hadn't bunched it up  and black jeans that wrapped around his legs nicely. Wonsik had to bite back a groan at how perfect the other looked with his flushed cheeks and awkward stance, shaking his head.

"You look good, ready?" Wonsik offered a smile as he stood up from his spot, slipping his phone into his pocket.

"I-I'm..." Taekwoon paused, something he seems to do often, "I'm not sure if I should go."

"Why not? You changed, didn't you?" Wonsik walked over to the other, an inch closer than what was comfortable even though he was obviously an arm's distance away.

"I can't go." Taekwoon finally decided, the guilt evident on his face.

"But you want to." Wonsik said, staring at the other. "You want to go but you also don't want to break the rules, right?" The other nodded, "Well, think about it like this. I'm already here, you're already dressed. To hell with it. I mean, you broke it once, breaking it once more won't hurt. Plus, if you do get into trouble, at least you enjoyed it while you could. It's like if you got caught for killing a man you didn't like, better kill everyone you don't like before getting caught right?"

Taekwoon stayed silent as he stared at the man, his face paling as his mind wrapped itself around the words the man said. Kill? What did mother say about that again? "W-wha—"

"Okay, maybe not the greatest analogy I've made in my life. Basically, if you're already breaking the rules, might as well go all the way and have fun while you're at it. Better?" Wonsik laughed whole heartily as if he hadn't said what he did before.

Taekwoon nodded, making slow steps towards his front door, "Right... I'm just going to have fun. I'm not doing anything bad. You're a good boy, Taekwoon." He mumbled the last part under his breath, unaware that the other had caught it. Wonsik stopped mid-stride, glancing at the other before continuing to where he had entered not too long ago as if he had heard nothing.

Wonsik couldn't help but glance at the other every so often as he slid on his shoes, watching the other sit down to do the same with his.

Good boy, huh?

"Here." Wonsik grinned as he sat down on the familiar park bench, next to the man whose small smile made his eyes turn into crescents. He passed Taekwoon the ice cream cone in hand while taking a lick of his own.

"Thank you." Taekwoon murmured as his attention went to the white swirls in his hand. Taekwoon took a kittenish lick, closing his eyes while a hum as the cool sweetness covered his tongue. He opened them once more, eyes finding Wonsik as he gave him a grateful smile.

"How are you liking everything so far?" Wonsik asked as he turned to stare at something seeming to be miles away.

Watching the sun set, Taekwoon thought back to the day that seemed to have gone by so fast. Wonsik took him to places that filled him up with all kinds of sweets and tasteful food, almost all new to his taste buds. He had taken him to places that didn't seem like much to Wonsik but brought smiles on Taekwoon's face easily. Taekwoon got the chance to see children play around and chase each other on the playground, he saw people migrate towards food stands, hell, he saw so many things in so little time he could barely process each sight.

The world was so interesting. It made him feel light and happy all over.

"Everything's been amazing!" He grinned after collecting his thoughts. "It's exactly the way mother described it to be." The smile on his face slowly fell as he thought about it. If the world this great, why has she been keeping it from him? He felt like a fool half the time when Wonsik had to explain so many things to him. The more he thought about it, the more the frown on his face pulled down.

"What are you thinking about?" Wonsik asked as he broke out of his daze, staring at the others expression.

Taekwoon shook his head. "Thank you for showing me around. Everything was really nice."

Hook, line, and sinker.

"Nice, huh?" Wonsik said thoughtfully, a mysterious smile sneaking on his face, unnoticed by the man next to him who turned his attention to his ice cream cone. "There's one more place I want to take you."

"W-Where are we?" Taekwoon asked, his fingers digging into the material of Wonsiks flannel. He quickened his pace to match the other's long and confident strides, much different from his own timid ones.

They had been walking for quite some time, his legs feeling tired already. Taekwoon glanced around, noticing how each step the took, his surrounds got less and less friendlier. The big open houses became small rundown apartments, not that Taekwoon knew what they were.

"We're exploring the world." Wonsik replied.

"W-what?" Taekwoon stuttered, jumping a little as a man came out of an alleyway not too far away, his pants down to his ankles. He was sobbing, wrapping his tattered shirt around his body tightly as his other hand picked his pants up. Not long after, three men followed out, looking much more delighted than the other.

"See you later, pretty boy." The men cackled, an unpleasant sound that reached his ears, making Taekwoon press his body closer to Wonsik's as they walked by. Taekwoon knew what this feeling was. It was the same feeling he got when he woke up to a pitch black room, his night light burnt out.

Fear.

"Hey! You two." Taekwoon tensed at the rough voice that sounded, a slight flinch coming from him as he tugged on Wonsiks shirt. Why was he being so silent?

"W-Wonsik... I-I think..." Taekwoon started.

"I know. Just ignore it." Wonsik continued on, glancing around as though he was looking for something.

"Hey! I'm talking to you two!" An hand grabbed onto Taekwoon's shoulder with a harsh tug, making him yelp before yanking his body away from the stranger, almost becoming one with Wonsiks back.

"Oh, you were?" Wonsik answered back as he turned around with an off putting grin, his hands gripping Taekwoon's shoulders to do the same with him.

"Yeah, I was, pretty boy. Didn't you hear?" Taekwoon kept his head down, not daring to look at the men, only staring at their battered shoes. He was silently questioning Wonsik in his head. Why had the other turned him around?

"Oh, I'm sorry. I guess your existence was too irrelevant to me for me to hear." Taekwoon couldn't see the others expression but he was sure that the devilish grin the tattooed man was gifted with was adorned on it.

"Excuse me?"

"Oh, I guess those words were too big for you to understand? I believe there's an elementary school down the block, maybe you can ask one of the kindergarteners what I meant." Wonsiks chuckle reached Taekwoon's ears, making a shiver go up his spine. This isn't right.

"Wonsik, can we please go?" Taekwoon whispered, trying to turn back around.

"What do you mean? These nice men have something to tell us." Wonsiks smile made its way into his vision.

"W-Wonsik..." Taekwoon's wide eyes made it up to the others. I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared. He repeated in his head like a mantra. These men weren't nice and at this point, Taekwoon wasn't sure if Wonsik was any better.

"That's a nice catch you got there." One of the men sounded, his voice a little edgy at the fact that they were being ignored.

"Isn't he? Taekwoon, it's rude not to greet others. Look at them and say hello." Wonsik said, shifting away from Taekwoon as he felt three pairs of eyes on him. Wonsik placed a hand on his shoulder, leaning down to whisper in his ears, "You're a good boy, aren't you?"

Taekwoon's eyes widened at those words. He was a good boy. Mother always said so. If he listened to her words everything would be fine, if he kept his promise everything would be fine. Now that he's broken it, look what had happen. He's not a good boy.

He shook his head, feeling tears well up in his eyes. "No..." he brought his hand up to wipe his tears when he felt one stream down, only to have it gripped by a familiar warmth, one that he had only gotten use to today.

Wonsik gripped his chin as his grip tightened in his other hand. The grin on his lips fell when he saw the others expression. Fear was evident in the others eyes. Tears were threatening to follow, Taekwoon's strain to hold in a sob was obvious with the way his jaw clenched. Guilt filled up Wonsiks lungs so thickly he could barely breath.

What was he doing to this angel?

Wonsik shook his head. This wasn't how it was suppose to be. Taekwoon claimed to be a good boy, wasn't he suppose to like this kind of shit? Wasn't his devil suppose to come out to play? Wasn't he going to grab onto the men, plead them to praise him for being so good? That's how it always was when it came to people like Taekwoon. A praise slut. That's what he was suppose to be. He should be on his knees by now.

But he wasn't.

He was here, trying his best not to crumble down in Wonsiks hands and he was the cause.

Then what did he mean early? Good boy?

"Shh..." Wonsik murmured softly, his eyes softening as he let go of the other's hand only to thread itself into those almond locks. He patted Taekwoon on the head softly as he felt fingers grip onto the material of his shirt. Returning his gaze to those three men that stood there idly with a sharp glare, he parted his lips with one simple word, "Go."

"Who the hell do you think—"

"Ravi."

Taekwoon wasn't sure what was so threatening about the word but it seemed to shut the three men up quite nicely. He couldn't see their expressions, too busy drying his tears and calming his labored breaths within Wonsiks shirt but how the men hitched their breaths hinted their fear.

"S-sorr—"

"One." Wonsik uttered calmly, "Two." Came right after, not even one breath in between.

The quick padding of feet across the concrete filled the silence. They stayed like that for a second, Taekwoon's breathing becoming normal. Wonsik's arm felt comforting around him yet he felt like it shouldn't have. His other half had brought him to a place like this, seeming to know well what would go down. What kind of warped person was he fated to?

"W-Why?" Taekwoon finally sobbed out as he couldn't hold it back anymore. He pushed Wonsik away. He was so scared, not of the men but of Wonsik; the person he should be trusting with his life.

"I-I'm..." Wonsik wasn't sure what to say. He surely couldn't admit that he wanted to see Taekwoon's true self because the other wouldn't get what he meant. This is his true self. Innocent, naive, trusting. Someone the world could crush within an instant. Maybe that's why his parents never let him out? No, keeping him confined in the house was what caused this. Spitting lies and painting such a colorful world for Taekwoon to imagine is why he is the way he is. "I just wanted to show you how it really is."

"What?" Taekwoon couldn't comprehend it. See how what was?

"The world isn't as 'amazing' or whatever as you think it is. It's not just everything I've shown you today. What you saw just now? The world is much, much worse. Those men could have beat you up real good if you were alone." Wonsik said as his hand came to caress Taekwoon's cheek, making him flinch away at the touch but the other was determined to keep the skin on skin contact. "I just needed to show you a glimpse of it. You don't truly know the world until you know both sides."

Taekwoon's tears continued to drop as the fear intensified. Worse? The world wasn't the way mother said it was? Everything was so good... but now? Had she lied? Why?

"But, don't let your head get wrapped around it too much. The world still has a lot of good in it like you saw earlier today. Just focus on that. I'm sorry for showing you this place." Wonsik said, an apologetic smile on his face. "Forget about it."

"How can I?" Taekwoon suddenly yelled out. How could he forget? He wanted to know more, learn more. What wasn't his mother telling him? What were his parents keeping from him? Why didn't they allow him to learn more about his surroundings? He had lived so well while people seemed to have many troubles. "I don't want to forget."

"But you're going to. I'm going to take you home and you can just act like this never happened." Wonsik said with finality, his hand clasping onto Taekwoon's tightly.

Taekwoon couldn't find the will to voice the words that laid on the tip of his tongue.

"Go in before your parents come back." Wonsik nodded towards the direction of Taekwoon's house, giving the said man a nudge when he didn't move.

"See you tomorrow?" Taekwoon murmured as he glanced up at Wonsik beneath his long fluttering lashes.

"Maybe."

"No, promise me you will drop by tomorrow. We don't have to go anywhere but... after having some company besides my parents... everything seems a little lonelier before." Taekwoon took many paused as he struggled to get the right words pass his lips.

Wonsik stared at him for a second, his eyes analyzing the boy. If he just said what Taekwoon wanted to hear, the boy would go in but that didn't necessarily mean Wonsik would come back. All he had to do was let the kid hear what he wanted and he could be on his way. Forget the man that seemed too unreal, too pure for his own good.

"Sure."
