AXEL CARRIED OUT hamburger and hot dog buns to his father, who was currently hovering over the grill with a spatula in his hand. "Here, dad." Axel smiled while handing over the bread. At that moment, the sound of the doorbell ringing caught both of their attentions. "I'll get it."

The boy turned and rushed to his front door, only to reveal one of his best friends, Beatriz Ruiz, on the other side. "Beatriz! You're only. . ." He glanced at his right wrist, as if he had a watch. Though as soon as he realized he did not, in fact, have one, he looked up at his friend again. "An hour early!"

"You're a whole dork, you know that?" She giggled. "Where's your not-as-lame sister?"

Axel rolled his eyes with a laugh. "She's in her room," he replied while jabbing his thumbs towards the stairs behind him. Without a moments delay, the brunette pushed past the boy and raced up the steps. Axel rolled his eyes before beginning to clean around the house.

AXEL RICHARDS WAS infamous for being able to throw killer parties. Whether it was because he was a football player for the school team, or because word spreads quickly in such a small town. Whatever the case, he took joy in being infamous for that reason, because it surely wasn't for being the star football player. The boy also knew how to present himself well in front of others. He took pride in his looks, especially since he had always depended on his mother. But since she was no longer present, he was on his own to make his appearance pleasing.

At that moment, a small portion of the street had shown up, and were scattered along the property. The young host smiled and greeted each person he came into contact with.

Axel caught sight of the Andrews family, minus Archie. "Ah, my favorite family!" He greeted them with a warm welcome. First, he gave Fred's hand a firm squeeze, before turning and giving Astrid a small hug. "Where's Archie?"

"He's on the camping trip with Jughead." Astrid informed.

Axel's face made a look of realization, as he recalled the conversation between the two teens about Archie not making it to the block party. Nevertheless, he turned back to face Fred. "My father is out back. I'm sure he'd love your company, Mr. Andrews."

"I'll go see if he needs any help. Thanks, Axel." Fred replied before patting the boy on the back, and walking towards Bruce Richards.

Axel directed his attention back Astrid, "Beatriz got here a while ago. I think she's helping Thea with her makeup. She looked like she was in actual pain." he joked. Astrid snorted before punching him playfully in the arm for his rude remark. Axel laughed as the red-headed female followed her father into the house.

Axel, turning around to face his party with a look of satisfaction, immediately sprung into action when he saw someone picking up his lawn plant. "Hey!" He yelled, practically running towards the rambunctious teen. "It's for looking only, dumbass!" Slowly, they put it down while simultaneously giving Axel a terrified look. "God you freshmen really don't have common sense, do you?"

At that moment, loud stereo music pulled Axel out of the trance he was in. The raven-haired boy turned, and watched Reggie and Moose hop out of the backseat of the convertible.

Reggie was the first to jump out. "My boy! How's it hanging?"

"Good, man." Axel replied before giving him, and Moose a brotherly handshake. "Hey, I was thinking we should play a little scrimmage of football? A few other bulldogs are here."

The two other boys nodded their heads frantically, and so it was settled. It was then known as Reggie, Moose and Chuck Clayton against Axel and Trev Brown. "Shirts versus skins?" Moose suggested.

"Save it for your wank bank, Moose!" Chuck called out. Everyone laughed in response.

Axel rolled his eyes at the question. "Literally there are three players on your team." He noted. "How difficult is it to remember each player?"

The game had officially begun. Barely any movement was being made up until the reinforcements finally joined. Axel caught sight of the fiery red-headed girl approaching his peripheral vision. He turned and smiled at Astrid, Beatriz and Athena. "It's a good game, if you want to join!"

"Yeah, you're gonna need all the help you can get." Athena, Axel's sister, remarked. Only to spite her, he repeated everything she said in the highest pitch he could muster.

With a smirk, Astrid rose to her feet, shrugged off her jacket, and began walking towards the game. "Wanna team up for a little defeat?" She asked.

"Always," Chuck responded. Axel rolled his eyes.

Astrid held her hand up, "Not you."

Axel laughed. The red-headed girl fell into a spot in between Axel and Trev. Beatriz also approached, and took a spot next to the raven-haired male. "Huddle up!" Reggie called out, causing each team to swarm around their designated captain.

"Alright." Axel said with a clap of his hands. "Here's the game plan. Trev you'll be the center. You two ladies stand on either side of him, and when I call hike, you run straight out and make like a 180 degree curve. Try to cover as much distance as possible, and stay open." He demonstrated the movements on his hand.

The three nodded at him before taking their stances in a line. "You sure you don't want to get your nails dirty, princess?" Reggie remarked as he stood across from Beatriz.

"You sure you don't?" She replied with a smirk.

Axel scanned the playing field, and threw the ball to Trev. "Alright, that's enough. Let's get this show on the road!"

This signaled the start of the game. Trev hiked the ball to Axel, who watched his other three teammates take off away from him. Upon seeing them make their slight turn, Axel noticed Astrid to be the most open. He threw the ball to her area and hoped that she would catch it. However, he didn't get a chance to notice because as soon as the ball was released from his hand, Chuck tackled him to the ground.

Astrid caught it with ease, and took off towards the touchdown area as fast as she could. In the process she yelled, "Hey, Kev!" Kevin Keller watched with utter shock as Astrid crossed over the line without being touched by the opposing team.

"Oh shit!" Axel yelled out in joy as their team was now in the lead.

Beatriz called out from behind Axel, "Hells yes! That's like what?" She trailed off, not knowing the score. Axel turned towards her with an amused look, and she just shrugged in return.

"It's six to nothing." He cheered in response, giving the brunette a high five.

Sadly the game came to an abrupt end when Bruce called out, "Foods ready!" Everyone took off running towards the backyard to make sure they were first in line.

The members of the bulldogs that had shown up to the party all huddled around eachother while still remaining in line for food. "Have any of you heard from Jason?" Reggie asked aloud. Most of them shook their heads.

"He hasn't returned any of my calls or texts." Chuck noted.

Axel sighed. It wasn't known for Jason to miss a party where there'd be other bulldogs. It just wasn't like him.
