Chapter 2
DR Valerie Nicole was done her shift for the night at the hospital. Her day mainly consisted of preforming check ups on patents, prescribing medications, and keeping the other patents the other staff in line.
"Make sure that he takes them at least twice a day, if there's no sign of improvement within a week come back and see me," Valerie said using her telekinesis to float a prescription to the mother of a young patent.
The mother nodded, grabbing the flying prescription out in mid air. "Thank you very much doctor," The mother said.
Just when Valerie was about to dismiss her the front doors busted open as paramedics rushed through lobby while pushing a stretcher carrying an unconscious young man.
Unfazed by the interruption Valerie quickly moved to there side and directed them to the nearest available room. "What do have here?" Valerie asked, rushing alongside the the paramedics.
"About half of his body is covered in third degree burns, bruises, and cuts. As well as what appears to be a deep cavity in the lower chest, possibly caused by an electrical burn." The head paramedic said without even looking at her. When they approached the empty room Valerie carefully used her telekinesis to levitate the body onto the hospital bed.
"Alright I need 7 CCs o-" Valerie paused taking a closer look at the unconscious boy. "Is this some kind of a joke!?" She asked, glaring at the paramedics.
"What?" asked one of the paramedics, a confused look on his face matching the faces of the other paramedics.
Turning to face the head paramedic Valerie walked up to him so their there faces were only inches away from each other. "You told me that half of his body was covered in third degree burns, bruises and cuts, as well as a cavity on his lower chest that may have been caused by a electrical burn correct?" She said to the paramedic, her glare intensifying.
"Y-Yes?" The paramedic said, his brow visibly sweating under here glare.
"Well?" She said gesturing to the unconscious boy. Looking towards the young unconscious the head paramedics jaw dropped upon seeing the red cuts and black burns that where once there gone, even the large cavity that was almost an inch deep was gone. "Where are they?" Valerie finished.
The paramedic just stood there for a good minute staring at the uninjured teen, who only a minute ago looked like he was caught in an explosion. "T-they where there a moment ago." The paramedic stuttered.
Valerie shook her head and gave a sigh of annoyance. "I will be reporting this," she said. Moving over to the unconscious patient Valerie puts on her stethoscope and places it on the boy's chest to listen for a heartbeat.
Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump Bump.
Putting her stethoscope away she uses her telekinesis to levitate a small flashlight that was sitting on her desk to her hand. Lifting up one of the patients eyelids Valerie then flashes her flashlight at his pupils to see if it would trigger any kind of a response. "Strange," she muttered to herself.
"What?" asked the paramedic.
Valerie didn't bother to look at him. "He has an usually fast heartbeat, but he isn't giving me any kind of a response whatsoever," she said, staring at the patient for a while thinking hard as to whats wrong with him. "Well keep him here for the night to see if wakes up in the mourning, if he's still unconscious by then we'll have one of our telepaths have a look at him," she said turning to face the paramedic and giving him a very stern look. "Thank you for the assistance but we'll take it from here," she said. The paramedic then gave her a nod and left the room, closing the door behind him.
Remembering the patient still unconscious on the bed, Valerie uses her powers to levitate the body a couple several feet from the bed, she then removes the torn up white pants from his body and levitates a hospital gown on him. As soon as that was done Valerie dropped herself in a nearby chair, pinching the bridge of her nose. "(sigh) Why do I always have to deal with all the crazy shi-" she was about to say until she was interrupted by something unexpected.
The unconscious patient waking up in his bed screaming. "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!! WHO!? WHAT!?! WHEN!?! WHERE!?! WHAT?!?!?" He screamed while looking around the room scared and confused.
Quickly moving over to his side Valerie places her hands on his shoulders in an attempt to calm him down. "It's okay your safe," she said in the calmest tone she could do. Removing her hands from his shoulders, Valerie stands up strait and looks him over again checking for any injuries she might have missed. "Are you in any pain?"
"W-What?" he said not really hearing the question. "W-Where am I?"
"Your in the Atlanta Medical Center," She said. "Now please answer the question, are you in any pain?" She asked him again.
Laying his head back onto the pillow, he takes a few deep breaths before answering. "I... I have a bit of a headache," he said while rubbing his eyes.
Valerie nodded using her telekinesis to float a plastic cup over to the sink in the room and fill it with water. "So, whats you're have a name?" She asked him floating the glass of water into her hand.
"Huh?" He muttered, finished removing the sleep from his eyes to see Valerie handing him the glass of water. Taking the glass he greedily sips it down quenching his thirst till the cup was empty. "T-thank you."
Valerie took the empty cup and threw it in a nearby garbage can. "Will you tell me you're name now?" She asked getting impatient.
He froze for a bit trying to remember something... Anything! But all that he could remember was the sad voice in the void. (I'm so sorry... Allen) He remembered the voice saying that name almost like it was calling to him. "A-A-Allen, my name is Allen," he answered. Sitting up Allen takes another look around the room before asking. "How'd I get here?"
Valerie wrote something down on a tablet before answering. "Paramedics brought you in not too long ago," she said.
Allen gave a sigh of relief. "So it was just a dream," he said. Taking a deep breath he then closes his eyes and relaxes his head on the pillow trying to go back to sleep.
Valerie looks up at him curiously. "Nightmare?" she asked.
Allen nodded. "Yeah, I woke up in some park completely covered in cuts and burns," he said. Too tiered to open his eyes.
Valerie's eyes widened a bit upon hearing his words. "Strange, the paramedics said the same thing," she said. Placing her tablet down Valerie gets up and takes a closer look at his chest. Squinting her eyes a bit she sees the faint out lining of several scares that have faded.
Allen was about to tell her the scariest part of his dream with the women flying away, but he immediately shot open his eyes upon hearing her words. "What?" He asked, looking at her dumbfounded.
Valerie continued to look over Allen's scares not even bothering to look up at him. "When the paramedics found you they said half of you're body was covered in cuts and third degree burns. I didn't believe them at first, but now it appears that they were telling the truth," she said. Standing up, she heads for the door opening it with her telekinesis. "We may need to run some tests just to be sure, but in the meantime get some rest," she said, leaving the room and closing the door behind her with her telekinesis.
Allen followed Valerie with his eyes as she left the room, the dumbstruck look still plastered on his face. 'did the door just open and close by itself?' He thought to himself while staring at the door.
Valerie opened the door again and walked back into the room. "Sorry almost forgot something," she said. levitating the tablet off the table, and back into her hand before leaving the room.
Allen somehow continued to stare at the door with and even dumber expression on his face. 'IT WASN'T A DREAM!!!! IT WASN'T A DREAM!!!!!!! ' He thought to himself. Climbing out of his bed, he walk's over to the window in his room, hoping that what he would see will make some sense of whats going on. Bushing aside the window curtains, and opening the window.
Just across the street Allen saw presumably a young married couple-as the wife was very visibly pregnant-changing their cars flat tire. Normal right? One would think so, until the pregnant women lifted the back of the car off the ground with her bare hands, while her husband changed the tire so fast it was more of a blur. And if that wasn't weird enough some teenage girl was texting on her cellphone, but then her phone levitated out of her hands up in front of her, before she did a cute little pose as the phone did a quick flash and floated back into her hands.
'D-did she just take a selfie?!' Allen thought as he slowly back away from the window. 'Okay okay, I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanation for all of this. I just need to think this in a calm professional manor,' he thought.
Several minutes later the hospital's front entrance bursted open as Allen was screaming while he ran away from Valerie and several other nurses who were chasing him. "Wait, we haven't finished examining you!" Valerie shouted.
Allen looked back at her while he ran. "I'd prefer my butt to not be probed you alien scum!" He shouted as he ran across the street.
Valerie took a few more steps before she came to a stop, she bent over and held her shaky knees as she was out of breath. "I knew I should have hit the gym," she said in between her breaths. Valerie then looked up seeing Allen disappear in the distance. "C-call the the police," she said to one of the nurses.

The funeral home was filled with relatives and close friends, all dressed in the proper attire as they came to pay their respects and say goodbye one final time to the diciest. They all sat quietly in their seats, knowing that shouldn't disturb Joseph who was currently standing in front the open casket. He was dressed in his best suit, while looking down at the unmoving body lying inside a open casket. With tears threatening to burst out of his eyes, Joseph offered them no resistance allowing a tear to fall onto body's the cold dead cheek, as Joseph quietly sobbed over the dead body of Janet Mayborn, Joseph's mother.
However Joseph's mourning was interrupted, as a man wearing a black suit and a earpiece gently places a hand on Joseph's shoulder. "Senator sir, there's something that requires your attention," his bodyguard whispered.
"Not now," Joseph whispered.
"Sir, its the President," The guard said.
Joseph looked at the guard, his eyes now red and puffy from the tears. Joseph silently nodded. "Very well," he said before leaving the funeral home.
The guard then escorted him to a long black limousine that was waiting for him out front. The guard opened the passenger door to reveal two leather seats sitting in front of a flat screen TV. Joseph then stepped inside the limo before turning on the TV to reveal a middle aged woman with black hair on the TV. "Madam president," Joseph said.
The woman on the screen nodded before clearing her throat. "Senator Mayborn, my condolences to your mother," she said.
"What is it?" Joseph said ignoring her apology.
"Just six hours ago our satellites detected a large energy signature in Mayborn memorial park," the president said.
Joseph frowned at her. "You called me from my Mother's funeral just to tell me this?"
The president looked at him. "The energy signature that appeared a few hours ago matches the same signature that occurred twenty years ago. Joseph, it's Allen Mayborn's signature... Your father's."
Joseph's eyes widened before he nodded and left the limousine, he took a few steps toward the funeral home before he fell to his knees. "Senator!" The guard exclaimed before helping Joseph up. "Are you alright?"
Joseph didn't even look at the guard as he got up. "I... I need a flight booked for tomorrow."
