I went down on one knee.
And nearly slid into the sea.

With shock, I sounded the alarm.
It could have done me harm.

My leg could have been broken.
Few words of empathy were spoken.

A friendly voice called out.
And helping arms reach out.

Warm and gentle hands helped me to my feet.
It was love at first sight, as eyes meet.

As my friends laughed and joked.
In light beams, I was cloaked.

In the company of angels, I took their leave.
And with love, left my laughing friends to grieve.
