"So you've never tried any other flavor?"
"Na-nope," I said, trying my best to keep my answers to his extremely nosy questions short and sweet.
"Your Yoda talk is starting to get on my last nerve. We've got to fix it. Right now," he said, firmly.
"Fu-fix it...?" I asked, doubtfully. The Yoda talk was the only thing that filtered the crazy stuff, that I usually talk about, from coming out. I wasn't really sure if I wanted the Yoda to be fixed.
"Yes. Fix it," he said, with a look that screamed determination. Or it could even be a strong urge to urinate. I can't decide. My mom's handbook really helps at times like these.
I nodded to his possible-determination-possible-need-to-urinate face, acting as if I actually wanted the Yoda gone too. As if. The Yoda was the sole protection I had against guys like Peter. It was the only filter I had, for my talkative mouth.
"Eureka!" He yelled, suddenly, startling me out of my wits. Pfft. Who does he think he is? Archimedes?
"Wha-what?" I asked, simultaneously praying to God to not let this be some ridiculous idea where he dresses up as a girl or something.
"You wish I would," he says, chuckling. Wow. I just said that out loud. My cheeks start heating up to a furious shade of red, in embarrassment.
"OH MY GOD!" He yelled, suddenly, startling a poor couple trying to drink their shared iced latte in peace. "Your Yoda talk! You didn't talk like Yoda this time. OMG!" He slaps his palms on the table, almost spilling my caramel frappe (I'm sure to gain 2 pounds now), and continues,"Hmm. This is a serious observation. Test Subject A, Do you feel especially nervous when you're looking at me?"
Test Subject? Am I a guinea pig for his science experiments now? That is absolutely horrendous! In fact, I think I'll get Blair to start a 'free the guinea pigs from the murderous scientists' campaign for me, now.
"Haha, so funny. Besides why do you need Blair for everything? God. Grow some balls, dude," he laughs, before abruptly stopping and staring at me. "Interesting..." he muttered, continuing the weird judgemental gaze he was throwing on me.
"Wha-what?" I asked, disliking all the sudden attention on me. For about five minutes and twenty seven seconds, everything was awkwardly silent.
"You've got nice boobs," he finally said.
For a moment my mind went blank. After that moment, my mind started screaming "CREEP WOMANISER PLAYER RUN RUN RUN" like a siren.
But I was not going to do that. He just met me, and has the audacity to say things like this?! I was getting angrier by the second.
"STOP BEING SUCH A DISGUSTING MEMBER OF THE MALE POPULATION! OBJECTIFYING A WOMAN IS VERY, VERY WRONG. YOU MEN THINK IT'S OKAY TO GO AROUND SAYING THINGS LIKE THIS, BUT IT'S NOT. IT'S LIKE SAYING YOU'VE GOT A —" I suddenly stopped my full blown speech-cum-rant, when I noticed he was smiling at me.
"WHY ARE YOU SMILING?! DO I SOUND FUNNY TO YOU NOW? OR ARE YOU STILL STARING AT MY JIGGLY PARTS?" I asked, frustrated at his snarky behaviour.
"Do you hear yourself? Yoda, begone," he winks.
That was when I realised, all this had just been a hoax. A trick to get my sole filter, out of my mouth. And boy, is he clever, because what he did, definitely worked.
"Wow," I said, my broken speech soon becoming normal, each passing second. It was easy to continue talking to him like I would to Blair after the mini-burst-of-anger I had a while back, god knows how.
"Ingenious, really," I said, still shook from the fact that he was the first person who made an attempt to get me to speak properly, and succeeded with it.
"Now that your Yoda talks easing off, let's start working on your memory," he says, cockily.
His attitude was giving me a major migraine. He was rushing through all this so fast. I mean I need time to process things and he's already talking about reviving my memory. Good god! At this rate, he'll ask me to do his homework next.
Lord save me.
"What? Don't you want your memory back?" He asked, a sceptical plastered look on his face.
"Um I do," I said, in a way, relieved that the Yoda wasn't embarrassing me anymore.
"I hear a but..." Peter
"Because there is one," I said, trying my best to not run away this very instant. I felt a panic attack coming up and this wasn't good. This wasn't good at all.
"Go on," he said, not realising that to me, the surroundings were spinning. His lips looked distorted. Everywhere I looked I saw red and black, and my heartbeats were rapidly increasing.
"Are you okay?"
I could make out a male voice calling out for me, as I drowned in my thoughts. Thoughts of my fear of opening up to someone, my fear of being alone, everything crashed down on my tiny self, with blinding speed, pushing me down into a vortex of thoughts with its crushing momentum.
I was falling.
I could see myself falling.
Was it possible? I did not know.
The sea of my own thoughts pulled me into it, and just as I thought I was dead, just as I thought my thoughts had consumed me, I fell back. Back to reality. The reality where I was apparently running by Block 5, past Blair's house, with a confused Peter chasing me.
