So, before that happened, I was getting bullied because I was a hybrid. Exactly why I'm shy around people. But both Sabrina and I were getting bullied. I never told Dad, or even Ty, about it because I was afraid of being called a coward. But, that all changed when I came home from school one day with pretty much a black eye.

*Flashback*

It's currently recess time and Sabrina and I are in our little corner on the playground. We were talking about, I don't even know, when Caden and Nathan come up to us.

"Aren't you animals​ supposed to be at home or in a zoo?" Caden laughs.

"Yeah, what kind of name is Crystal anyway? Shouldn't it be Crybaby?" Nathan asks. Sabrina and I just ignore them and continue our conversation.

"Hey! Answer us when we're talking to you, Kittypets!" Caden spits. I look up at the idiots.

"The hecks a Kittypet?" Sabrina asks.

"The hell's a Kittypet? Haven't you guys been reading those cat books everyone's talking about?" Nathan asks. Sabrina and I shake our heads.

"Hah, you idiots are missing out. Anyways, I recommend you guys leave and go back to where you belong." Caden smirks. I just growl and Sabrina and I stand up.

"Why don't you just leave us alone for once?" I ask.

"Why would we leave you alone? You don't belong here." Nathan points out. I throw a spell near their direction, but not directly at them. I don't want to get in trouble because I hurt them​. Besides, Dad would kill me if he found out I used my magic in public. Caden and Nathan look at me with wide eyes, then their expressions change to anger.

"Did you just try to kill us?" Caden growls. Nathan balls his hand into a fist.

"N-no. I w-was just trying to scare y-you and w-warn you to leave us a-" I was interrupted by Nathan punching me in the eye. I cover up with my hand and a couple of tears escape my eyes. Nathan then realized what he had done and he and Caden run off.

"Come on, let's go to the bathroom." Sabrina says with sympathy in her eyes.

*Time Skip*

I move my hair out of the way of my right eye. I can't open my left one, as it's swollen shut. It's also somewhat turning purple and black.

"Oh no. Sabrina, I can't let my dad know about this! What am I going to do!?"

"You could move your bangs over to where it's covering your left eye, like your brother." Sabrina suggests. I brush my hair over to the left side of my face with my fingers until my eye is covered.

"Do you think they'll notice?" Sabrina shrugs.

"Worth a shot." She says.

*Time Skip*

The bus stops at Sabrina and Adam's road and they get off. Ty then jumps into my seat.

"Crys, why is your hair like that?" He asks. I shrug.

"I wanted a change." I lie. Ty just gives me a concerned look and jumps back into his seat with Jason.

*Time Skip*

I poke my food with my fork.

"Crystal, are you feeling alright?" Dad asks with worry in his voice. Hi

"Yeah." I lie.

"Your hair wasn't like that this morning." Dad says.

"That's what I told her earlier, but she didn't tell me anything." Ty explains. Our German Shepherd Lab mix, Sweetie, jumps on me and accidentally moves my hair while trying to get my steak.

"Sweetie! Down! Crystal, move your hair out of your face." Dad says​. I hesitate at first, then slowly, I move my​ hair out of my face, revealing my left swollen shut eye. Dad and Ty gasp.

"When did that happen?" Ty asks.

"Earlier at recess. Caden and Nathan were teasing Sabrina and I again because we were hybrids. I had enough so I threw a spell at them to warn them to leave us alone. Then Nathan decided he would punch me since he thinks I tried to kill them." I explain.

"Wait, did you say again?" Ty asks. I nod.

"Crystal, you never told us that someone was messing with you. We could have stopped it before it got this far." Dad says.

"I know but I was worried that they would call me a coward."

"So what if they call you a coward? We all know that you're not. You're the bravest sister I could ever have and I'm proud of that." Ty says and hugs me. I smile.

"Go ahead and eat what you can and then go back to your room to rest. I'll be back later with an ice pack." Dad says.

*End*

Nathan apparently hit my eye says hard that I'm somehow partially blind in my left eye. But, I'm lazy so I don't have glasses. That's why I'm extremely clumsy.
