Discontinued Work

I've had this idea for  bit now, but I just never put it up.  And for those reading my other work, I'm sorry for not updating them up even though I promised to work on them and update as soon as I could.  I'm horrible.

Anyways I have a little something to say, for those who read and remember the previous chapter, and remember the part where I mentioned my friend having planned to put up her webtoon.  Well she just put it up about an hour or two ago.

It's called "Outlanders" if anyone is interested in taking a look at it.  I didn't have an account on line webtoons, but once she told me a while ago that it was up, I quickly made an account, and commented.  If you're interested, I'll give you more information on that, since there is another webtoon with the same name.

I already know what all of her characters look like, and some of the plot because she had showed me some of her work.  But it's still so exciting to see it up.  And if anyone is curious as to what my name is on there, it's the same name as on wattpad, ju7393.  And no, I will not be putting up any work there, because I can't draw to save my life.  Though I'm a master at drawing stick people.  Though I did manage to draw one anime character, well from the magazine shojou beat, when it was still being published monthly.  And that took me two days to be able to finish some of it.  And it is pretty decent, though for me who can barely draw a straight line, that was a great achievement.

Enjoy.

How many works are there that have been discontinued?

Is discontinued and not updating after who know how many years the same thing?  I kind of feel it's close to the same.  Sort of.

How many here have been reading a really good story, whether it be anime/manga fanfiction, or k-pop fanfiction or any type of fanfiction, and then there is a note from the author.

That they are discontinuing the story.

There are two reasons I have come across as to why some discontinue their work.

1. They no longer like their work, and are greatly dissatisfied with it big time.

2. They no longer have an idea, or a grasp of what they want to do with the story anymore.  And they just can't get the inspiration they need and want to continue.

There might be more reasons, but those are the two that I have come across so far.  And if you know of some more maybe you can let me know.

Oh, I just remembered another one.

There was a story, that I had just begun to read, and it was getting really interesting.  And then it was taken down.

The reason being the comments from the readers.

The story had forced sexual intimacy, rape in other words I guess.  And some of the comments seemed as if they were encouraging it since it was a BTS fanfiction.

The author took down the story, and wrote a note saying that she or he was disappointed in reading the comments, because no matter what rape is rape.  And that it is never okay.

From what I know so far, they will not be posting that story on wattpad or on any other site.  But they did say that they had been editing and thinking about putting it up for sell, like many others on wattpad have been doing.

So I guess that is a form of discontinued since it is no longer on wattpad.

I personally at one point had thought of discontinuing my own work, when I only had "Guardians undercover".  At the beginning I loved typing the new chapters so much, but then as the time passed.  It became hard to put my ideas into words.  I knew what I wanted, but I just couldn't get it out properly.

And one time I actually didn't know what to do about a few chapters, I had no idea for it.  Because I didn't want to all of a sudden just jump right into the main parts, and I was lost.  And I even thought of discontinuing it once or twice.  But then I changed my mind.  There is no way that I would do that to my readers, after I have seen so many good stories be discontinued.

And besides I am actually quite proud of how "Guardians undercover" is going, and my other work as well.  Of course I'd say that since I wrote them myself.

Anyways, back to the topic.

It is pretty sad to see such amazing works be discontinued, but it's understandable if the author can no longer think of an idea or has just completely given up on it.

Though some authors have put up their stories for adoption, for anyone who wants to continue the story.

Like there is one Ghost Hunt fanfiction, that the author has stopped doing anything for that story, but the story had been adopted by someone at ff.net, and the author here on wattpad, has been posting up the new chapters that the other person has been putting up.  And I really liked that, since the story wasn't exactly ended.  But it was ended on behalf of the author, but it was continued by someone else.

And I have to admit, it is still pretty good, just as the original author had typed up.

ANYWAYS.

What is your "Discontinued Work" moment?

I didn't know what else to type for this, but I just got another idea for the next rant thing.  But that will be for another time.  I think.

And thank you for reading this rant thing, and my other work.  I never would have thought that I would get to the 100K in "Guardians undercover".  And my two BTS fanfictions, I didn't think it would get any views at all.  It barely has a few but, it is still shocking to see even a few, on work that I think is very lacking.

So that's it for now.  Hope you enjoyed it.
