Chapter 10

My eyes opened to a bright, white light. I still felt a strange fuzzy feeling inside my chest. I noticed something in my surrounding. I was in an unfamiliar room.
Why does that sound so familiar I wonder?
Grey stones were integrated into the wall, ditto the closed area was filled with green equatorial plants that reached the ceiling.
There was almost no furniture, except for a desk full of papers and a wardrobe.
"Oi you're awake!" a bright voice cried. It was a blond, but certainly not Killer. No, he was a bit shorter. The trait that caught my attention were his eyebrows which were curled into a strange spiral at the end. The blue-eyed man was also constantly happy and muscular, and he suddenly launched into the room.
I subliminally tucked the blanket to my chest.
"Good day Y/n-chan~! I brought you something. Here drink this, you'll feel better!"
I glanced at him, still a bit shocked but nerveless took his nice gesture and stretched my hand to take the glass filled with an orange beverage. I quickly pressed my lips to the cold glass and drank all of it in one gulp.
"Thank you...?"
"Sanji, Y/n-chan. Or Black Leg. I work for Kid." he explained, overly eagered. As soon as he mentioned Kid I immediately looked around the room, for some strange reason hoping that he would be there. But he wasn't.
I chuckled. He came closer and brought my hand to his lips and gently pecked it. Heat rose to my face as stunningly watched him.
"It's a pleasure to meet such a beautiful flower like yourself. I hope I can..."
"You can do what, you fucking cook?!" A deep voice barked. Kid strutted into the room, angry as hell.
Sanji seemed fazed by his interruption as if he wasn't aware of his nature.
"I was just..."
"If you won't leave in three seconds, I'll invert your rib cage and feed you the dogs. You wanna fucking go, punk?!" he gritted with his teeth.
As soon as the blond left, he averted his gaze towards me.
"You aren't allowed to see him anymore!"
What?
"May I ask why? He didn't do anything wrong, right" I glanced at the plate and empty glass in front of me.
"You don't have any word in it!"
"But..."
"As long as you're here, you belong to me. Understood?" He shut me up with a strange concern in his eyes, but that was then dismissed with an annoying glance at my resting body.
Why would he be concerned? He is only here for the money.
"You drooled over my stuff. I really hope you'll clean that." Kid accusingly pointed at the messed-up pillow, 'forgetting' the previous problem.
My eyes widened. Then I remembered some pieces from yesterday's night. I was attacked. But more importantly...I slept in Kid's bedroom.
"Your stuff? So that means this is...But why aren't I in my room? Where did you sleep?"
"You don't remember?" Kid uttered; his brows knitted in a frown.
"Remember what?" I questioned, staring bug-eyed.
Jutting his chin, he merely cut me off. "Nothing, none of your business."
I wanted to bark at him, but I stopped myself when I realized what happened last night with his arm. I discarded everything and just blurted. "I'm sorry!" I didn't look at him, my gaze rested at the crumpled sheets. I slowly stood up, unaware of my attire and walked to Kid. I could feel his eyes following my every movement.
"How is your arm?" Just as I was about to reach it, he caught my hand and firmly squeezed it. "It's ok. Stop being so clingy."
"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked.
"Just get dressed. No questions." Before he closed the door, he tossed something into my direction, the object bouncing from the bed, landing close to me.
"Here. You'll need it." And with that last part uttered, he left the room, shutting the door quite fiercely.
I first couldn't comprehend what that small object was, until I reached for it and recognized the familiar screen.
A phone?
After two weeks without any connection to the outside world I was finally able to...Oh, nothing works. Shocking.
The whole phone was setted so I would only be able to call two already saved numbers and... that's it.
Jeez, thanks so much!
I played a little bit with the useless device, flipping it over and over until I decided it would be pointless to pount any further, so I sighed in frustration and proceeded to my own room.

Before I went to the 'reception' gathering space, I had selected some comfortable clothes, my per usual jeans and white T-shirt, only because I had this hunch that I would probably need a comfortable attire.
Before steeping into the overly illuminated space, I had had a small glimpse of a faint memory from last night. Laughter.
"Good morning..." I chimed, struggled to sound as neutral as possible.
"Hey!" Exclaimed Killer, not really paying attention to the horrifying man on his right. Kid wasn't fazed by my presence so I tried to further communicate with the blond so I could inquire some information that I was obviously lacking.
"Why is he so...?" I nudged with my head at the redhead, his anger visibly detected while his jaw was clenched.
"A meeting." Killer instead answered, knowing exactly what I was aiming for.
"With?" Truthfully, I have no idea what's going on. Ever.
"Why do you care?!" Kid barked, still avoiding my eye contact. Oh, he snapped, huh?
"Capone "Gang" Bege. From the West Blue City." Killer had enough courtesy to fill me, but he consequently increased his boss' rage. "A mafia leader in short." The blond shrugged.
Wide-eyed, I creased a brow. "But isn't that like three hours from us...? Wait.... If he is the mafia leader..." I pointed at Kid. "In South Blue City and this Bege guy in West Blue, then there has to be leader in North and East blue, right?" I surmised, feeling a bit proud that I came to the conclusion.
"Trafalgar Fucking D. Law. North Blue. And Bartolomeo the Cannibal and Jewelry Bonney from East Blue." Kid decided to step in, his veins popping out.
"Those are the other two." Killer dryly explained.
I gasped "Wait...there is a female mafia leader! Wow! Awesome!" I chimed, ignoring Killer's sigh and Kid's swearing at my over-eagerness.
"Yeah, yeah! Just go! Heidi is waiting for you..." I cringed a bit at the maid's name. After spending some unhealthy time here, I discovered, in a painful and traumatizing way, how clingy the middle-aged woman was with long dresses and make-up. No wonder she was so delighted when she found out she would get a life size-doll.
"I'm not going with you?" I slumped at his blunt demand and averted my gaze to the floor.
" Of course you're not, you moron!" Kid snarled.
My body reacted on its own, my head jumping up. "But I want to!"
"You're not allowed to!"
"If I want to go, I will!" I chinned up.
We stared at each other and couldn't look away. I was gripped by the overwhelming urge to do something, but I shook it off.
"I'm giving you a last warning."
"No. Way." I objected, pronouncing every single word.
No way in hell.

"Are we close?" I asked, this being the tenth time in one hour. I was trying to see how much it would take for Kid to snap. Even tho I was yawning and close to blacking out.
"Get out." He hissed under his breath.
"We are driving in the middle of nowhere, like 120 km/h. It's a bit impossible." I murmured, trying not to laugh.
"Exactly. Have a safe trip!" he sneered and flicked his hair backwards.
"You're kidding right? You know, Killer is driving behind us. If I hit his car, that will affect him too." I whispered-yelled, my hands gripping the lower part of my seat so in case that he was serious I wouldn't just give in without a fight.
"Did I stutter?!" The redhead mused, leaving me speechless.
"No... Hmmm..." I peered to the almost-familiar device, and an escape idea popped into my mind. "What about some music? That would lighten the mood, huh?" Without hesitating, and waiting for his approval, I reached to the controller wall and clicked a couple of buttons before a faint music filled the car.
"Hey Kid..." I gulped, fidgeting my phone between my fingers.
"What?!" He grunted, not tearing his gaze from the highway.
"I'm well aware that I can't really categorize myself as a car expert..."
"No shit" The redhead mumbled, offensively cutting me off.
I gave him a deadly glare before I continued: " Anyway...But I know for certain that this car isn't new. Why's that?" Don't you like beat up others for money and stuff?
"You're just firmly asking out of curiosity." That wasn't a question, but more like a statement.
"You know what they say.... Curiosity killed the cat." I smiled from the front seat.
"..."
"Or we can stay quiet. As usual." I murmured, feeling a bit disappointed. What the hell Y/n!
" 1969 Boss 429 Mustang." He muttered, a bit reluctantly.
"Huh?"
"That's the brand of the car. Quite old but after some repairing, it runs smoothly."
"You did all of this?! That's...Incredible!" I chimed, subconsciously following the control wall and wondering how the heck did he managed to do that, being rough and quick tempered.
"Yeah, whatever..." While I was enthusiastically looking around, now excited to see with my own eyes the work he had done, I missed the faint blush that crept to his face.
"Hey, Y/n....Get some rest. I won't allow you to humiliate me just because you look like a zombie with sleep deprivation problems."
Ouch, that hurt!
Before I could even question his psychic powers, he interrupted me: "You were yawning. Now sleep."
"Oh, yeah, you're probably right." I nervously chuckled before I closed my eyes, humming to the song from the radio.
As I was calmly drifting to a trance, Kid, from time to time, tore his gaze from the road and glanced at me, his eyes consistently finding their way to my lips.
Before he could comprehend what was happening, he had tightly gripped the steering wheel and silently swore.
He lies, he bluffs, he's unreliable
He is a sucker with a gun, gun, gun, gun
I know you told me I should stay away
I know you said he's just a dog astray
He is a bad boy with a tainted heart
And even I know this ain't smart
But mama I'm in love with a criminal
And this type of love isn't rational, it's physical
Mama please don't cry, I will be alright
All reason aside I just can't deny, I love the guy
