o6.| NOT ENTIRELY
JASMINE WAS ABLE TO FIND VISION THE NEXT DAY. She knew that Wanda had been right and that she needed to figure out a way to spend a day not worrying about what was going to happen to her. She couldn't continue to focus on what was going to happen to her. Even if it was imminent, she couldn't continue to focus on it. It was going to take control of her life and she was never going to be able to live it down. She was going to lose more sleep from the fact that she was going to lose her life and she didn't want to do that. She didn't want to lose the sleep that she barely had, just because of the fact that she was going to lose her life. She couldn't do that. She wouldn't.
The dark-haired woman sat on one of the couches within the lounge in the Avengers Compound with a book in her lap, before she lifted her eyes to see Vision. She smiled to herself as she watched the android beginning to make his way over toward the woman, but he was stopped for a moment. Jasmine furrowed her brows as she watched him talk with James Stark before the android was quick to cut the other man off. James glanced over his shoulder to see Jasmine before he gave her a wave. Jasmine offered him a smile before he let Vision continue his way.
The woman reached over to her cup of tea on the table and brought it to her lips. She blew on the hot beverage for a moment, just as Vision took a seat beside her. He glanced around the two of them, taking note that there were other Avengers in the room. She watched as he did, the machinery in his mind going at a hundred miles an hour as he attempted to figure out who all was in the room and what it was that they were possibly doing. But she gave him a nudge with her elbow as she set her cup back down on the table.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Hey, don't try and guess what everyone's doing, Vis," Jasmine scolded playfully, which caused the android to let out a small chuckle. She tilted her head to the side before she dropped her hands in her lap. "I'm glad that you had some free time, I know that you usually help Tony with some collaboration stuff in his lab with FRIDAY."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Oh, no, it's quite alright. Mr. Stark-Tony-was perfectly fine with giving me some time off," Vision explained as he nodded his head, which made Jasmine smile. "I think that he wanted me to stop working so hard so that I could have a little bit of 'fun'."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "I think Tony just doesn't want your hard drive to fry from all the work that you put yourself through," Jasmine pointed out, which made Vision let out a small chuckle before he turned his attention over to her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Sounds like something you should listen to," He pointed out, which made her furrow her brows. "You should take some more time to yourself and learn to relax a little bit more-"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "I do-"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "-You don't," Vision corrected her as he shook his head. "Not entirely. You're so focused on figuring out a way to make sure that all of the other Avengers are safe before you figure out a way to help yourself. I believe that you should be focusing more on yourself than you do with yourself."
The woman stared at him for a few seconds and she knew that he was right. She knew that Vision was right and that she should've focused more on herself than she did. But she couldn't help it. Jasmine wanted to make sure that everyone around her was safe and sound before she was. There wasn't a bone in her body that didn't make her want to figure out a way to save those around her. She had always been that way. She never wanted to save herself before the lives of others. She always wanted to figure out a way to make sure that the other Avengers-or anyone in general-was safe.
That was just the type of person that she was. She knew that in the end, she was going to meet the end and that she was going to have to face what her life was made up of. Was she able to live a life that was filled with the chance to help others and make their lives better? Or did she focus more on herself? She wanted to be able to look back on her life and see that she had helped whoever it was, no matter who it was.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ She pressed her lips together, "It's harder said than done, Vis," She cleared her throat as she set the book that was in her lap over on the table. "I want to be able to help all of those around me. I want to make sure that the team is in the best capable shape that they can be in-"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "And what is that doing for them if you're not?" Vision asked and her lips parted as she stared at him. He reached over to her and rested his hand over her own. Her eyes dropped to their hands and she pressed her lips together tightly. It took her a moment as she stared down at their hands before she glanced up at his. "If you are to help take care of the Avengers, you should at least make sure that you're in the right circumstance and situation that you put them in."
Again, he was right.
She wanted to be the best person that she could ever be. But when she had a limited amount of time to live, she knew that she only had a certain amount of time before everything went downhill. And she knew that if she was going to do whatever it was that she could to help herself-she was going to have to do something that she wanted to do.
And, just like that, it all came back to one thing: Project Synthesis.
