"Whatever good, (O man!) happens to thee, is from Allah; but whatever evil happens to thee, is from thy (own) soul. and We have sent thee as a messenger to (instruct) mankind. And enough is Allah for a witness."
(Aaya 79 Suratu Nisaa)

*Past*
She aimlessly strolled in the park, deep in thought, oblivious of the birds atop trees happily constructing their nests, oblivious of the little hard working ants, that marched in a straight line, oblivious of the squirrels which scurried around the tree trunks, gathering little acons and nut supplies, in order to suffice them during their hybernation period, oblivious of the curious glances from the little kids she was fond of, and usually played along with.
If this were a usual Saturday , Jauhy and Saf would be hanging out together, beginning the day at the park with a refreshing morning walk, then moving onto their Saturday's dose of fun and excitement, chasing the little kids that frequently attended the park, and those that just came for a visit, playing along with them, and joining their entertainment. They would be sure to fill their pockets , well in Jauhys case, her sling bag with some extra cash, after a long fun filled day, they would treat the little kids with deliciously, cold and refreshing ice creams. Safwa loved any ice cream that comprised of chocolate, chocolate mixed with the vanilla ice cream, would melt slowly in her mouth, slide down her dry throat, cooling her parched throat, causing her to release a sigh of satisfaction.
If this were a normal Saturday after treating themselves to an ice cream, if they required some necessity they would go shopping together, arms interlinked, overfilled bags, dangling from their hands, happily they would make their way out of the mall . It didn't end there, no, they would spend the remainder of the day together only returning home by supper time, or at times spending the night at each others houses instead.
If this were the usual Saturday, Jauhy would not be so stubbornly locked in her room, lazing on the love seat beside the window, that overlooked the harbour, a book perched on her lap, taking in the smell of the aged pages, her mind travelling to a world of its own, forcing herself to be oblivious of Safwa roaming the park, like a lost and heart broken soul.
But sadly, this was not a normal Saturday, while she cried out in lonliness, Jauhy busied herself with reading, maybe even writing or compiling poems and Khaleel, he probably was busy chatting and flattering another girl.
Her heart clenched at the thought. She never understood boys like him, what joy did they find in trying to win over a girls heart, showing false affection towards them and when it siuted them and they felt they were tired and wished for some new company , they would discard them like unwanted trash, not caring in the least, how broken, sad and self concious they left a girl. Did it boost their already brimmimg ego? Did it build their self confidence? Or did it increase their fame?
She never understood, she just didn't get it ...... but then she realised, it wasn't necessary for her to understand, what was necessary for her was to repent for disobeying Allah Ta'allah and showing ungratefulness, for indeed by using her eyes to gaze at haraam and using her fingers to chat to a non mahram, she was being ungrateful for the hands and eyes that Allah had gifted her. How many there were who had lost their hands, lost their eyes ! What if Allah had to take away her sight?
What if she lost her hands?
A cold shiver ran down her spine, as realisation dawned on her, she didn't need Khaleel, she didn't need Jauhy to make her life better she needed someone that would never leave her side, she needed someone who would pay attention , she needed love and care and that would only come from not a someone ,.... but , from A Merciful Being, from her Beloved Allah.
She would sincerely repent and she would make Allah her one and only true friend, without Allah she would be dependant on the world, but with Allah she would be independent of the world, she would find true bliss, ecstasy and contentment, and the world would stare at her with its envious gaze.
She ran out of the park, past the little girl who had tried gaining her attention but, to no avail. The ends of her hijaab bounced behind he, as she raced three blocks down. Finally reaching her house she stopped abruptly , huffing and panting, trying to catch her breath.
She held the gate for support, as she breathed in the fresh morning air. It felt so good to run, with the wind whipping her face, her scarf bobbing behind her, the air sucked out of her lungs, as she sprinted past various buildings, taking merely a glance, leaving them behind. It felt so good to perceive the burning sensation in her chest , as she inhaled fresh air and exhaled, attentmpting to calm her thundering heart.
Safwa lifted her head towards her balcony, intending to breathe a sigh of relief, but the figure before her, caused a gasp of shock to escape her mouth.
There he stood on her balcony, in his suit and tie, his eyebrows furrowed, an angry scowl painted on his face, his shoulders tense, he paced to and fro, her phone clenched so tight in his hand, as if he would break it in his rage .
Safwa gulped, what was he doing in her room ? And what was he doing with her phone ? Her eractically beating heart that had just been calmed a few seconds ago, began thudding against her chest , filling her with fear and regret. Why did he have to come here now, now when she just embarked the ship of repentance ? Why now ? Just why ??
He stopped pacing and his gaze met hers, his cold eyes stared into her fear filled orbs, as if searching for the truth in them. Safwa froze, did her parents know ?
He motioned for her to join him on the balcony, the look of rage still not leaving his face. She rubbed her forehead in frustration and reluctantly walked up the stairs, with every step, she regretted leaving the park and returning home.
She opened the room door slowly, then slid the balcony door open, he spun around instantly, glaring at her, each second he glared at her, felt like daggers being thrown at her heart continously, rage was evident on his face. Tears filled her eyes, but she quickly blinked them away, he hated tears and her crying would only cause his anger to increase.
"What is this ?" He screamed so loud, Safwa jumped, frightened by his sudden outburst.
