Advice/Tips on Writing:

(Tip) Write everything down- it doesn't matter if you're in the grocery store or at a funeral! Write down what you see, hear, feel (mentally and physically) and even taste! When you write about your five senses it helps you to create a realistic moment in your story so that the reader can connect and relate. It's like creating a realistic painting. You have to know what a real human face looks like and how it's "developed" before you start your actual masterpiece.

(Advice) Use Google

Build Your Vocabulary- Guys, if you only knew how professional, clean and interesting your story will be with awesome vocabulary. It doesn't take but five minutes (if that) to write down three new words that you've learned that day. You already have your phone with you! So ask google! Google not only provides a specific definitions it also gives synonyms and antonyms for that word.
Example; "Google, please Define Weird!"
Weird- Suggesting something supernatural; uncanny.
Synonyms: Uncanny, eerie, abnormal, unusual, strange, unnatural, ghostly.
Antonyms: normal or conventional.

WHICH BRINGS ME TO THIS!✍🏽👇🏽

"Which sentence sounds better?"

1. There was a weird sound coming from behind the tall, dark wooden door. (Basic word)
2. There was an eerie sound coming from behind the tall, dark wooden door. (Synonym)
3. There was an abnormal sound coming from behind the tall, dark wooden door. (Synonym)
4. As the uncanny sound behind the tall, dark wooden door grew more audible I froze in place. Whatever it was, wasn't normal. (Synonym and Basic Antonym)

🌹As you can see in the last sentence I stretched that small dialogue/scene and made it look like a mini paragraph. It doesn't take much to search up a word and dissect it more to make it beautiful and increasingly vivid.

There's a lot of emotion and more connection in sentences 2-4. The first sentence was basic, something a first grader can come up with, but the 2-4 were actually higher level (author) sentences.

Now, I don't expect anyone to be a Shakespeare and make their own words, or a J.K. Rowling & Stephenie Meyer. What I'm trying to say is that you can be more creative with your work.

If you can instagram, snap, tweet, text and FaceTime you can ask Google what does "pain" mean. And oh yea! Google also gives you a sentence stem and show you pronunciations. Don't we all just love google.

I remember for a Harry Potter Fanfic I was going to write and I needed a name for a group of people who were going against The Big Bad Dark Lord, Voldy. That's my homeboy just in case you were asking. lol I'm totally kidding.

But anyways! I needed to come up with an equally creative name that "somewhat" seemed as awesome as Death Eaters. Now that brilliant J.K. Rowling is amazing with coming up with names for things. Draco Malfoy, Voldemort, ButterBeer, Slytherin, RavenClaw, etc., everything was on point!

Funfact: The spell Voldemort used to make someone a death eater was "morsedore" or something. (sorry I can't think off the top of my head) morsedore means take a bite out of death in another language. Which is cool giving their Order name: Death Eaters. That creative woman! I tell you!

My point is, it took me DAYS to come up with a name for the group of rebellions and it still wasn't nothing special. They were named the Rəˈkwīts (Requites), but to come up with this lame name I simply listed all of there motives.

1) Stop a dark era
2) Seeks Revenge against death eaters
3) Witches and Witch Activist
4) Etc., etc.,

By that I mean, all the people in the group wanted revenge against the dark lord, that was one motive of the group, or goal. So I asked google what did revenge mean just to get a clear mindset of what I was dealing with then I saw the synonyms! Requite, Avenge, Spite, Repay... etc.,

Knowing me, I picked the one that looked and sounded more sophisticated. The definition was pleasing but I wanted the word to look more Harry Potterish? If that makes sense. I simply took the pronunciation and it worked alright.

Til this day, I still feel that mines is nothing creative like Rowling and it isn't. But that's not the point. The effort is!
