Chapter 3

Friday Morning

Huey woke up, got out of bed and got dressed. This was day three. He was unbelievably nervous, even though there was a chance that Dewey did like him back. He took a deep breath and stepped out before freezing. The weekend...how was he going to get the notes to him without drawing attention.

"Morning, Huey." Dewey greeted.

"Oh, morning. Why are you dressed so nice?" He teased. Dewey blushed lightly.

"No reason really?"

"Trying to impress someone." Louie piped in.

"Louie!" Dewey yelped.

"He's been getting notes from a secret admirer." Louie winked at Huey secretly. Huey chuckled.

"You don't say."

Dewey was a blushing mess.

"Don't let your face get so, red, Dewey." Huey told him as he walked by to go do his hair. Dewey's face flushed even more, his feathers fluffing a bit.

"What's the matter, Dewey?" Louie asked.

"When did Huey get so...-"

"So, what?" Louie wondered.

"I don't know how to explain it." Dewey muttered, going to the restroom as well. The triplets finished getting ready and headed downstairs to eat breakfast before leaving for school for the last day of the week.

Dewey was impatient all day, wanting it to be lunch to get the note from 'Red'. He kept himself distracted from the note itself and tried to figure the person behind the pencil.

'It could be that one girl in Louie's third, she can write, wait no, not like that. What about the other girl from his second, no! The guy that sits next to him in his third? He's pretty good with words.' Dewey's mind raced as he tried to figure it out all day. He didn't even eat lunch that day. He just waited by his locker for Louie to show up.

Louie was running a little late that day since he had to wait for Huey to rewrite the poem to make it long enough for three days instead of one. He ran up to Dewey out of breath.

"H-Here!"

"Don't run, Louie. You'll get an asthma attack."

"I'm fine, just, read!"

Dewey grabbed the note and opened it up.

'Hey, Dewey. This note is a little longer than the other two since I won't really see you this weekend. I can tell you've been thinking about who I am. The way you bite your pencil as you try to figure something out. Your soft breathy mutters to yourself. Anyways, I love how adventurous you are. You bring joy to my day. You are like my sunshine on a cloudy day. Your beauty is stronger than anything in the world, your personality outshines the glow of the moon at night. You always know what to say, what to do. You're clever, puny and have a good sense of humor.

'When I first met you,
I felt like I had known you forever,
telling you my secrets
and what I didn’t want ever.
You listened to me.
I bet you thought I’d never end.
Who would have thought
we would become more than just friends?
Over a period of time
I got to know the real you.
A boy, so caring and gentle,
with a heart so true.
You’ve survived your life
with hurt and loneliness by your side.
I told you I’d never leave
because of the feelings I have inside.
I know you
like no one I have ever known,
and sometimes I wonder
what I’d do if you were gone?
So I have decided
time answers all.
If it is meant to be,
time will remove the wall.
I love the way we are together.
You can always make me smile.
Will it ever really be forever?
I guess I will have to wait a while.
Time will reveal what lies ahead,
but always remember
what I have said.
Meeting you has changed my life,
and I really love you so.
The feelings I feel for you,
I am never letting go.
Remember me always
and I will, too.
I always think of
me and you.' -Katie

She's my favorite poet, and I feel like this fits perfectly to who we are. I love you. -Red'

Dewey's eyes were wide.

"Woah..." He breathed out. "I...I know this person."

"More than you think." Louie hinted.

"It's not you, right?" Louie laughed at that.

"No way, I would never sign my stuff with 'Red', 'Green', maybe." Louie joked.

Dewey was so so overwhelmed by everything. He knew the person and they saw him chewing on his pencil and talking to himself that day! Who writes good that has him in his fourth period? He had to figure this out he just had to!

The rest of the day went by agonizingly slow. Once over, Dewey rushed home and decided to study the way the note was written.

Huey walked into the manor and sighed heavily.

"What'd he think?" Huey asked Louie.

"He know that he know the person sending him the notes."

"Good, that's what I wanted." Huey smiled. "He really was adorable chewing on his pencil."

"I can see that, I saw you staring at him for the whole period."

"You did!? Oh jeez! I hope he didn't see me!" Huey panicked.

"No no, he was waaay too distracted." Louie reassured him. Huey sighed and relaxed.

"Days three, four, and five done..." He breathed out.

"So, no notes over the weekend?" Louie wondered. Huey shook his head.

"Too risky. Waaay too risky." Huey told him. "He already knows that he knows the person." Louie shrugged and nodded.

"So, Tuesday's the day, huh?"

"Mmhm, I just hope I'm ready." Huey admitted.

"I'm sure you'll do just fine, Hue."
