Chapter twenty

Kyra's POV

I sat on Jaydon with my legs over his and rested my head on his shoulder. In his room with no one running in and interruptions. "Question." I say. To break the silence.

"Yes?"

"How old are you?" I look up at him.

"Seventeen." I nodded in my understandment resting my head back on the shoulder. "Can I show you something?" he asked.

"Sure."

I sat up as he cupped my face with his hands. He leaned down and gently touched my lips with his. I wrapped my arms around his neck. He parted away leaning his forehead against mine. I smiled weakly looking him in the eye. "I . . ."

I'm speechless. His warm smile opened me up. "Jaydon, I . . . I do."

I moved positions so I'm now on top of him, wrapping my arms around his neck. I sat on his lap, staring into his eyes. His glittering eyes twinkled in the light. I leaned down for another gentle kiss. I never knew this is who I'd have my first kiss with. Even though I may not want to date for another two years or so, this guy I would date any time. He's been there for me when I needed him and the only one here who isn't rude. I parted away, leaning against him.

He laid down with me on top, holding the arm of the couch. Pushing back strands of hair behind my ear, he held my waist. I pushed off of him and stood towering over him. He turned his head to eye me. I walked out of the room. "Hey, wait. Where are you going?" he hollard from behind. I believe he stood up and came after me because within seconds, he was right behind me.

"Was it something I did?"

I kept on walking to the outside world without looking at him or saying a word. Pushing through the doors, I stirred right and walked towards the hill. I love how clueless he is. I walked and sat in the shade. Jaydon walked up and stopped in front of me. Glancing up, I tug at his arm and he comes onto me. I smile at him, showing my appreciation and that I'm interested in.

"What?" Jaydon chuckled.

"I'm interested in you."

"So?" he smiled.

"So . . . I like you." Jaydon smiled, lifted himself up from me and laid beside me, wrapping his arms around me.

I snuggled in with him, staring at the sky. Soon enough, I fell asleep.

-

I woke up a while later with Jaydon sleeping next to me. Staring at the sky, I stayed careful to not wake him up. Looking as the clouds flew by. My imagination started up seeking all sorts of animals.

Nik's POV

He walked down the sidewalk back to his little house. After escaping prison a few months ago, he is ready to take revenge on Daniel and the loved ones. Sitting in jail for twenty one years gave him time to think for revenge. After meeting Makayla today, he gave him an advantage.

Daniel seemed protective over her, almost like she's precious to him. Nik stopped at a light, pressed the button and waited. The light turned green and walked until he got to his home. Slipping his shoes off, he walked into the kitchen, grabbed a beer and walked into the living room, flicking the tv to life. Watching the news, seeing all the non-interesting things. Nik flicked channels until he found his favourite show.

His phone dinged in the middle of the show, getting him frustrated. Looking at it, he read the text message from Daniel.

Stay away from her!

Questing him he realized he's talking about Makayla. He smiled and said okay, but in reality, he won't. He wants to take revenge, take what's his.

He laughed uncontrollably, scratching his head. He texted back that he sure won't.

Setting his phone down, Nik turned off the tv and headed out. Getting in the car, turned the engine on to life and drove away into the city.

Driving with the radio on through the city. He drives by the school, slowing and stopping in the nearest driveway. Scanning the area, Nik got out, walked, standing behind the defense of the tennis court spotting two kids on the hill lying down. One asleep on the other. He glances to make sure that they're not looking and booked it to the entrance. Stepping into the doors, someone comes near the entrance as he ducks behind the door hoping they didn't see him.

Crouched behind the door, Nik poked his head into the window so he knows if they're gone or not. Spotting the silhouette going into some pair of doors, he moves quickly inside, shuffling through the hallways. Scanning the school, he spotted Makayla walking into the far hallway into another section of the school. He entered the purple part of the school, scurrying his way. Nik ran after her when she shut the door behind him. He peeked through the window as she changed from clothes that looked soaked to new ones. Watched her change from one shirt, heading to her suitcase picking a new one.

Nik kept watching her unnoticed when someone grabbed him by the shoulder and yanked him outside, throwing him on the sidewalk. "What the hell man!" Nik yelled at Daniel.

"I told you to not go near her!"

Nik smirked at him . "Daniel, calm yourself. I won't hurt her."

"Shut up!"

Nik laughed. "How did you get out of prison anyway?"

"I escaped, idiot."

"What do you want?"

"What I want is for you to die. You took everything from me!"

"You killed everyone I loved! So yeah I took everything from you."

"I will get my revenge on you, and you will be sorry."

Autumn's POV

"So what happened?" Autumn asked.

"Nik. Nik escaped prison somehow and is now here. I don't need someone else hurt other than the killings. The killings are bad enough." Daniel exclaimed. "He's bad news. I don't need any of you to mess with him, please."

"Why? What did he do?" Autumn asked once again, very curious. "He's a murderer. He killed everyone I loved. My family and my girlfriend. You remember Emma, right Makayla?"

"Yeah."

"Well, he sent someone to a concert where she was, paid him to do a shooting to kill her. And to make sure she's not a target, he killed some others so it's not suspicious."

"Did this person get caught?" Ethan asked.

"I can't remember. I think so, though."

"What a shame." Makayla said.

"So please, whatever you do, stay away from him. I just don't want you hurt."

"How do we know it's him?" Autumn questioned.

"You'll know. If someone is out there around the school grounds looking suspicious, then you'll know it's him. If he's trying to avoid people, then it's him."

Autumn nodded to let him know she understands, same with everyone else. "Do you know why he escaped prison?" she said, very curious about this mysterious person. "All he said to me is that 'I took everything away from him. I'm getting my revenge.' His words, not mine."

She looked at her phone as it's 3:45. Almost four. Which means almost dinner. Autumn's stomach growled for food. "I'm going to get something to eat."

"What time is it?" Daniel asked her as she walked. "Almost four," she hollard back.

Walking down the quiet hallway, she wondered where everyone was. It's a nice day out so maybe a few of the kids are outside. Checking the window of the gym doors, the other teens, Izzy and them are talking, some not talkative. Autumn can tell all that from looking at them. Continuing her way, Autumn stopped dead in her tracks when she saw Alice s' silhouette standing in front of the doorway to the food room. Shocked, she screamed in terror. Must have been loud because everyone ran to her, even the teens in the gym.

"Autumn, what's wrong?" Ethan came up with concern.

"There's a ghost. Alice's ghost!"
