chapter eleven
"Wait, wait, wait!" Billy held his hands up, looking at America. "What do you mean I created you?"
America rolled her eyes. "Well, technically, you didn't create me, per se. You created the universe I was born in."
Tommy looked at his brother. "When did you have time to create a universe?"
Billy looked one second away from freaking out. "I didn't! I have no idea what she is talking about."
The girl sighed, looking at the brunet twin. "If my information is correct...you created Utopia - my dimension - in your sleep. Which explains why you have no recollection of creating it."
The white haired teen snorted. "Look at you, Billy, only fifteen and already making alternate dimensions."
"Shut it." Billy mumbled, eyes still looking frazzled by the new information.
He seemed as if he had more questions to ask America but they would have to wait as the door to the room opened once more and the head scientist strode in with three teenagers behind him; a blonde girl a couple years younger than the twins, a black kid around the same age, and...a teenage Loki. Everyone stared at the newcomers, the head scientist pushing them further into the room. "Get acquainted with one another. You have training in twenty minutes."
With that, he closed the door on the teens and left them in a tense silence.
Kate was the one to break it, hopping off the top bunk to approach the new teens. "Hey, I'm Kate Bishop, code name Hawkeye. The blond is Teddy Altman, code name Hulkling. That's America Chavez, and the twins are Billy and Tommy, or Wiccan and Speed, respectively."
The blonde girl nodded shyly. "I'm Cassie Lang...I think they gave me the code name Stature?"
"I'm David Alleyne, or Prodigy. This is Loki, he obviously doesn't have a code name."
Tommy stared at David, looking between him and Loki. "Wait, wait, wait! The Loki? The same one that went toe to toe with the Avengers? The one who's scepter - "
"Tommy!" Billy hissed, elbowing his brother.
"What? I just want clarification." Tommy grunted, elbowing Billy back before turning his attention back to the two teens. "So? Is he?"
"I would be the very one, yes." Loki replied.
Kate narrowed her eyes. "Why are you so young?"
Teddy snorted. "Oh, my gosh, Kate! You can't just ask people why they suddenly aged down!"
Loki rolled his eyes. "It is a long story." He glanced at the twins. "I sense the power of an Infinity Stone within the two of you. My scepter helped power you, correct?"
"More like create us." Tommy grunted.
"Pardon?"
"You heard me." Billy pinched his nose at his brother's attitude, shaking his head.
The god of mischief smiled. "What is it you two can do?"
"We'd give you a demonstration but Hydra has placed...precautions on us." Tommy sighed, explaining further when Loki gave him a confused look. "We went AWOL for a few days. This is just the beginning of our punishment."
The teens fell silent at that, staring awkwardly at one another. Luckily - or unluckily, depending on the angle - the door opened a few minutes later and Hydra cronies walked in, ushering the teens away for training. They were led down a series of hallways towards a huge, wide open room. There were targets on the far wall, lifting weights along another, a treadmill in the corner, a punching bag in another corner, and sparring mats spread out throughout the room.
The teens stared at the room, unsure what to make of it.
The head scientist walked into the room, glancing at the teens. His eyes roamed the teens, taking in their mildly confused expressions. "This is where you are to train your abilities and your bodies. In this room alone, your...consequences...are lessened." He looked specifically at Loki, Billy, and Tommy. "But be warned, I can and will raise them should you try anything. For now, you are to work individually on your physical fighting skills. No powers. I will reevaluate in half an hour to see whether to add sparring or powers. Begin."
He walked out of the room at that, leaving behind a few Hydra cronies to observe the teens as they stood there, staring at one another.
Tommy sighed, walking towards the treadmill. "Let's get this over with."
"Uh, Tommy?" Billy called after his twin. Tommy hummed in response. "No powers, remember?"
"Damnit. Fine. I'll take the punching bag, you take the treadmill, slow poke."
Billy glared at his twin. "Just wait until we can spar, brother dearest."
"You are going down." Tommy shot back.
The rest of the teens spread out through out the area, reluctantly starting on their workouts.

The Avengers were all back at the compound after their initial conversation in California, everyone gathered in the conference room once more. Wanda, Pietro, and Vision were still processing the information they were given across the country.
As was Thor.
"Explain to me, Stark, how my brother could possibly be kidnapped by Hydra?" Thor grumbled, not looking convinced that Loki actually was taken captive.
"Well, I am not sure if he was kidnapped or if he went willingly." Tony admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. He cleared his throat a moment later. "However, my theory still stands. You know, the one about Hydra making a new generation of Avengers completely under their control?"
The Avengers hummed in somewhat agreement.
Steve took control of the conversation next. "Our next mission objective is simple; we rescue the kids that Hydra has most likely taken hostage and reverse any mind control that may have been implemented."
"Oh, because that sure is simple." Pietro drawled under his breath. He winced when Wanda elbowed him. "Ow."
"Hush." She hissed at him, looking back at Captain America. "I can probably undo the mind control."
"Thank you, Wanda." Steve sent her a smile. "First step is simple. We locate the Hydra base that the Skrull took the twins to. That is most likely where the rest of the next generation of Hydra Avengers is being held."
"No need, Captain. I have that information already." Vision pulled up the coordinates on the computer in the middle of the room. "They are being held at Hydra's Ukrainian base."
Wanda felt nervous energy fill her, making her feel like her brother. "Well? What are we waiting for? Let's go rescue the children." Steve went to respond but the witch cut him off. "We can formulate a plan on the jet. Time is wasting. We must make haste."
Pietro saw the look in his sister's eyes and agreed with her, ushering the Avengers out of the room and down to the hangar. He eyed Wanda out of the corner of his vision, noting how anxious she was.
Sighing, Pietro made an educated guess as to what was making her so anxious and sat down next to her, placing a had over hers. "Wands, they will be okay. And so will we."
The brunette twin smiled up at her brother, thankful for his undying support.
She didn't know what she would do without him.
