Chapter Three
Newt and Thomas lookes at you, obviously shocked. You closed your eyes again, feeling a cool breeze, even though the wind wasn't blowing. You noticed that the weather here was alwasy perfect. You remember rain, lots of rain, but no memory to match with it. There didn't seem to be any rain here... yet. There had to be rain sometimes to make the crops grow or some thing other than perfect weather but then nothing in this place surprised you anymore.
"How do you remember me?" Thomas asked, too loud for Newts liking because he shushed him by elbowing him.
"Simple. I remember you." You sighed as you felt were suddenly pulled to your feet. You yelped as you stood up, blinking at Newt. He didn't seem happy, and you weren't happy that he was man handling you.
"Answer the question Greenie." Newt snapped which caused you to sigh.
"Okay, so from what I gathered, you get people sent up here, what, every month? Then in the space of...." You stopped.
"Two days." Newt helped.
"Two days you get three new 'Greenies', I dunno. Whatever, wouldn't it make sense if we knew each other? Wouldn't that be logical? Considering that girls first words were 'Thomas' and I came up in that box, wouldn't it be logical that we all know each other? They might not remember me, but I got a glimpse of a memory and they were there. There was machines and lots of blue, I hate that colour." You said as you shuddered. You felt a pain in your head, like someone was telling you to stop. Like someone was controlling your memories, that's when a name appeared in your head. Teresa.
"Teresa. You, me and Teresa." You said as you felt the pain again. You didn't understand. That's when the pain was being unbearable. You heard a voice in your head a voice that you recognised but you didn't know who it belonged to.
You have a power [Y/N], use it. Wicked is good.
You screamed as the pain increased. Newt and Thomas tried to calm you down but nothing helped, it was a horrible pain that shot through your whole body. Thomas was shouting at you to stop screaming. He was telling you it couldn't be that bad. You gritted your teeth as you glared at Thomas.
"It.... can't... be.... that..... bad?!" You shouted. You looked in Thomas's eyes, and soon he started screaming too. The pain you felt subsided slightly, as if the people controlling you were proud that you passed on the pain to Thomas. Thomas was on the ground clutching his head as you stood up. The pain had totally left you, like nothing had ever happened. Thomas stayed laying on the ground, looking shocked. He didn't expect that to happen. Newt looked at you.
"What was that?" He asked.
"Nothing." You said as you started to walk away. Newt grabbed your arm and you turned.
"Don't lie to me Greenie." Newt said, he was quiet. He wasn't demanding anything. His eyes seemed to soften when he looked into your [E/C] ones.
"I don't want to talk about it right now. I just want to go to sleep. Please." You whispered. This was all new to you and you were so confused and you were starting to get scared. You weren't comfortable or familiar with this place anymore. Like all of that was just a...... memory. Newt let go of you and motioned for you to follow him. You did so, looking at Thomas staring at you as he followed too. Newt led you to a room next to Teresa's, since you two were the only girls.
"I'll wake you up tomorrow." Was all Newt said as he and Thomas headed for the door. Before Thomas could leave you shouted after him.
"I'm sorry. You said it couldn't be that bad and it angered me. I wanted you to feel the pain I was feeling." You said as you climbed into the bed and pulled the blanket over you. Thomas said nothing as he left the room, closing the door behind him. You felt tears well up in your eyes and you didn't understand. This isn't what life is meant to be like, you knew that much, but you have no memories of a real life. No family days out. No hanging out with friends. You didn't even have a memory of a day at school. You remembered no specific place, this was all you would remember until they wiped your brain again.
You fell asleep, sobbing into your pillow. You knew a few people probably heard you, but it's expected to cry in this position. Newt was probably feeling sorry for you at this minute. Anyone who heard you was probably feeling sorry, being the only girl in a trapped place full of boys.
