CHAPTER 4

"So... Who is this Hotatsu Hyuga? Do you know anything about him, Hinata?"

Hinata shook her head, "never heard of him..."

Tsunade sighed "we're still unaware of who his so-called 'boss' is... Could be one of our own, for all we know." She scanned the people in the room, being Kakashi, Team 7, and Hinata. Then she glanced back at the two strangers, "your names really aren't Boru Uzu and Sara Uchi, correct? And your headbands... You're really not from the Hidden Meadow."

"Hn..." Sasuke looked away.

"We should've known there was never a village like that..." Sakura sighed.

"Yes..." Sarada glanced at Boruto, "but this wasn't my fault... It was..."

Boruto stared at the floor, "it was me."

Tsunade peered her eyes at the boy, "what are you saying?"

"It's my fault we ended up back here." Boruto explained, "we're really from the future. About twenty years later..."

"What?" Kakashi was shocked, along with everyone else in the room, "how?"

"There's this jutsu that the Hokage in our time has... It's a forbidden Time-Space Jutsu. I... I took it. And we ended up here." Boruto hesitated.

Sakura stared at him incredulously, "You stole and learned a forbidden jutsu? Why would you do that?"

"It..." Boruto looked away, "it doesn't matter. All you guys need to know is that that Hotatsu guy is a liar! We came back here on accident! We have no intentions of hurting anyone. Or the timeline."

"The timeline is already disrupted..." Tsunade's assistant, Shizune, spoke up, "if you're not the ones we should be after, then can you tell us about this Hotatsu and his partner?"

Sarada shook her head, "we've never heard of him either. We're actually surprised he knows we're here. Not even... Not even our parents know..."

Naruto looked down at the floor, then grinned, looking back up at the two, "so, uh, what's it like?"

Boruto looked at him, "huh?"

"You know, the future! In twenty years? Do I get married? Have kids? No, more importantly, do I... Become Hokage? It's my biggest dream, you know?"

"Hn." Sasuke cleared his throat, "and... The Uchiha clan? What of it?"

Sarada bit her lip, "uh..."

"Questions after..." Tsunade interrupted, "they still haven't told us who they really are. How silly of me to forget asking."

"Hm." Boruto coughed, "my name..." He glanced at Naruto cautiously, then Hinata, then finally, Sarada, who only stared at the floor, "my name is Boruto Uzumaki."

The name was out, and the entire room went silent.

"... U-Uzumaki?" Naruto's voice cracked, "are you..."

Boruto turned to look at Naruto, then nodded. That's all it took. Naruto broke into tears and fell on his knees, wiping his eyes and his now running nose.

"I have... I have a son!" Naruto sobbed happily, "you're my... Wait, then who's..."

"This might get awkward..." Boruto chuckled, "but I always wondered why I got along so well with Hinata." Boruto shrugged, "she does look like my little sister, after all."

"S-sister?" Hinata muttered, "you're..."

"Hinata?!" Naruto gasped as he stood up, then walked up to Boruto, wrapping his arms around him, "you look just like me!"

"I know..." Boruto smiled sadly at the feeling of his dad's younger self hugging him.

"Boru... Boruto..." Hinata repeated Boruto's real name, then smiled happily at the thought.

"What about Sara?" Sakura asked.

"And did I restore the Uchiha name?" Sasuke repeated.

Boruto peeled Naruto off of him, then looked at Sarada, who was still standing and staring at the floor, "well..."

Boruto walked over to Sarada and patted her back. Just as he did, he peeled off the white spots he stuck on her clan symbol. It wasn't until he finished that he saw her shoulders shaking and tears falling onto the floor.

"S-Sara?" Sakura walked over to her, "are you okay?"

Sakura held Sarada's shoulders as she cried.

Mom...

"I-I'm..."

"It's okay. Just breathe." Sakura wrapped her arms around the girl and hugged her tight. It wasn't until she saw the symbol on Sarada's back that her face went pale, "Sara... Are you... An..." Sakura looked at Sarada's eyes, then glanced to Sasuke, then back at Sarada, "your eyes..."

"What?" Sasuke walked over to the two, and as soon as his eyes fell onto her back, he froze, "U-Uchiha?! Who... Who are you?"

"Sasuke..." Sarada cried, "you're... I didn't want to make you upset with me... I didn't mean to..."

"Sara..." Sasuke stared at her shut eyes, "whatever your name is... Open your eyes."

Sarada managed to open her blurry eyes a tad, then looked up at Sasuke and Sakura's faces.

"That's..." Sakura covered her mouth.

"Sharingan..." Sasuke stared in amazement.

"My name is Sarada Uchiha." Sarada cried as she wrapped her arms around Sasuke and Sakura, hugging them tight, "I'm so sorry... Mom... Dad..."

The sound of her sobbing voice made Sasuke go even paler, "'Dad'?!"

Sakura blushed madly, "'Mom'?!"

Sarada chuckled a little as she stepped back and wiped her eyes, "uh-huh. Crazy, right Mo-- I mean... Sakura? You always told me how obsessed you were with Dad."

"Sakura..." Sasuke stared in disbelief.

"Sasuke..." Sakura glanced at him.

"Ahem..." Kakashi cleared his throat, "this just ruined the time stream..."

"It was already ruined when these two came back." Tsunade sighed, "you know, uh, Boruto... You're just as reckless as your father."

"I know." Boruto sighed, then laughed loudly along with Naruto.

"Anyways. That being said." Kakashi spoke, "Boruto, Sarada, you two need to go back to your dimension."

"Huh?" Sarada looked at him, "no way! We're staying!"

"She's just as stubborn as Sakura..." Sasuke groaned internally.

"We're staying to help." Boruto nodded, "we may not know who they are. But if they're from our part of the timeline, then we should know how to deal with them."

"Can you really do that?" Naruto looked at Boruto.

"Yeah, of course!" Boruto grinned, "after all, what would happen to Sarada or I if any of you die."

Naruto grinned and nodded, "okay then!"

"We'll need to figure out who Hotatsu's boss is, then from there, figure out where they are." Shizune explained.

"That sounds like a plan." Tsunade nodded, "alright. Now that we've determined who the real threat is, here, dismissed until further notice."

"Thank you, Lady Hokage." Kakashi thanked her as he led the kids out.

"So this is it?"

"It seems like it."

"Wow, it's so outdated."

Adult Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura, all wearing their own orange, black, and white hooded cloaks, walked down the path leading to the Hidden Leaf Village.

Naruto gazed around, then chuckled, "look, there's Kotetsu and Izumo!"

Kotetsu looked up from the papers he had on his counter just inside the village gates and saw the three, "hold on, stop right there! We need identification."

"Crap..." Sasuke murmured, "we never thought of this before getting here..."

"The name's Naru Uzu." Naruto coughed.

Seriously... Sasuke sighed. Oh well... This won't be permanent. Just to get into my own village... "I'm Sasu Uchi, and this is my wife, Saku Uchi."

Sasuke glanced at Sakura, who was only giving him weird looks.

"Hm..." Izumo glanced under the hoods of their suspicious cloaks, studying their faces, "What's your business, and from what village?"

"Here to visit the Hokage." Sakura nodded, "we have to talk about the village hospitals in collaboration with the Village Hidden in the Rain."

"Oh." Kotetsu nodded in understanding, "then that shouldn't be a problem."

Naruto and Sasuke glanced at each other, then stared at Sakura for her clever cover-up.

"We've been bumping up security ever since we got some message."

Sasuke rose an eyebrow, "message?"

Izumo nodded, "there have been time-travelers lately who have been rumored to be after the people of the village."

"Time-travelers. Ha, there's no such thing." Naruto laughed.

"Well, some guy named Hototsu told us." Kotetsu shrugged.

Izumo slapped Kotetsu, "what are you doing? His name wasn't Hototsu. It was Hotatsu, right?"

"Nuh-uh, I'm pretty sure it was Hotetsu."

"Hotetsu? No. Hotatsu."

The three looked at each other, then slipped past them and into the village, "what is it about this Hotatsu, guy?"

Sasuke turned to Naruto, "some sort of message. I don't ever remember this happening..."

"Me neither..." Sakura said, then stopped, grabbing Sasuke's sleeve, "Sasuke..."

"Hn?" Sasuke and Naruto stopped and looked in the direction she was pointing. It was the stone bench that was a symbol to the three of them, reminding them of the night Sasuke left the village.

"Why did we ever tear out that bench?" Naruto chuckled.

"This was before I left..." Sasuke sighed, "let's keep going."

They continued on, being extra careful to avoid contact with anyone.

"So where could they be?" Sakura looked around, over the crowds of people, "Naruto, can you use Kyuubi mode to find their chakra signature?"

"Yeah." Naruto shut his eyes, and their rims faded to orange, "they're close. They're definitely here, though. "

"We need to find them and get out of here." Sasuke said as they continued to walk closer to the chakra signatures.

"Wait."

Sasuke and Sakura stopped in their tracks as soon as Naruto stopped them. His eyes were shut as if searching for something.

"What's wrong?"

"There's..." Naruto murmured, "there's a strong chakra signature not too far from the village, and it's coming in fast."

"Is it a Shinobi?" Sakura asked.

"Yeah, two signatures, actually. One of them seems... Abnormal yet familiar in a way." Naruto explained.

Everything was silent. Too silent. Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura just tood, awaiting the 'okay' from Naruto.

"Guys..." Naruto tensed, "guys, guys, look out!"

In milliseconds, they were caught in a giant explosion, blowing up nearly half the village.
