Chapter 4

The bet

Dae placed the coffee cups she was carrying on a tray on the table and sat down to continue the conversation with the girls as they had a lot to say, especially now that Seon had returned from her honeymoon with Jungkook.

"Come on, tell us, tell us. Did you had fun?" You nagged Seon with your elbow a bit , wanting to make her speak at last and Dae and Ari of course casted their eyes on her with great interest.

Seon laughed a little before she proceeded to satisfy your curiosity and start telling you about the wonderful place with its perfect beaches, the amazing hotel and all the other places they visited with Jungkook.

Then of course he told them about the gifts he bought her and the nice food they tasted, as well as the romantic walks on the beach and the crazy funny moments, which she enjoyed as much as she could.

"Ah, you had a good time. I'm jealous now." Ari sighed and she would like to take such a vacation at some point but to find the time and the money for all that was a bit difficult.

"When you marry Taehyung, you will go on vacation Ari and you will have a wonderful time for sure." Seon gave her a teasing smile before taking a sip of her coffee.

"In fact, in order to go on vacation I have to tell Taehyung to get married. And we all know how that would go." She replied making the rest start laughing for they all were aware that her boyfriend wasn't pleased with the idea of marriage.

The two had been in a relationship for a year and a half and of course, they had feelings of love for each other but Taehyung had made it clear that he was not ready for marriage and neither he will ever be because he believes that a paper does not change anything and generally considers marriage a bureaucracy.

"Now that I think about it, I want to go on vacation as well, but without the wedding part," Dae added as she herself was skeptical about such life decisions.

Not that she was not madly in love with her boyfriend Yoongi, but because she believed that one should only get married once in a lifetime and with that someone should be the right one. She didn't want to get divorced and remarried many times like her mother.  Of course, Yoongi was the right person for her but there was no need to rush as she considered her relationship to definitely has a bright future.

"Yet again I don't want to go anywhere. I can have a good time here too ." You uttered your thoughts on the matter turn, said her conversation, making Dimitra raise one eyebrow.

"Not that you are unemployed and do not have money to travel to another city let alone a whole other country." Dae's words  that were exposing you, made Seon's eyes widen as she did not know about such information, because when she left, you still had your job as a saleswoman in a clothing store.

"What? !! Did you lose your job again ?! How ?! When ?!" She questioned as she left her mug on the table and looked at you.

"Oh well. Three days after you left for the trip, it rained and I did not clean the shop windows. And of course the boss started yelling and you know me. I do not like being yelled at." You explained slightly embarrassed not over your behavior for you definitely didn't regret that but because you were aware that knowing Seon would nag you about it now, which was evident in the expression on her face.

"Seriously! Oh come on Y/N. In three months you have changed jobs four times!" She told you looking worried more than annoyed, for she knew your condition well and was aware that you couldn't afford staying without a job for you had your parents in debt and you were helping them,as much as possible to repay it as quickly as possible.

Your whole monthly payment would go to them, thankful that being possible only because of Jimin that was basically covering your everyday expenses.

"Do not worry, I'm already looking for a job. I always find something." You reassured her, taking everything with a grant of salt as per usual. It wasn't in you to worry about something that hadn't yet happened at all.

"Why not go and work for Jungkook's company anyway. Since there are endless jobs there. They will most likely find something for you." Ari suggested but you just gave her a glare for this was not the first time they had brought up this issue, but you did not want to use any connections to get a job, nor did you want to owe thanks to Jungkook or whoever else. That was the reason why you had refused so many times to Jimin and Seon but also to Jungkook himself when he asked her, certainly motivated by Seon's words, and for the same reason you had refused them all and you will do it again.

"How many times do I have to tell you? Not happening." All three girls rolled their eyes at the display of your stubbornness and just changed the subject knowing that no matter how much they could keep at it, they would not get them anywhere.

Changing your mind about something was as difficult as making a pig fly.

---change of set---

"I suppose you made poor Seon tired for so many days, huh" Taehyung commented with a clear motive to tease his friend, who generally said how he spent his honeymoon while avoiding getting into any details that he actually wanted to hear.

Jungkook started laughing a little embarrassed once put on the spot as Yoongi put his hand on his shoulder and looked at him with a proud look before congratulating him as if he had finished a marathon.

"Can you all stop with all these exaggerations, he was not at war and came out a victor, it was a simple honeymoon " Jimin interfered with small laugh that was actually partly real and partly not, because for some reason he couldn't utter,he did not like the idea of his brother satisfying Seon, even though she was his wife and that was his job.

The boys continued their conversation in the small cafe they had got together for a hangout as that place was their usual to-go place for meet-ups, their table sounding as lively as always as the waiter approached with their orders.

"Everything aside though guys, I am happier than ever. Seon is the woman of my life." Jungkook concluded as he let his body lean back in the chair, looking up with a look of love in his eyes as the face of his wife appeared in his mind.

"No woman deserves absolute trust, man. So do not fly in the clouds." The waiter cut him off as he left their order and left, making them all follow his figure in wonder.

"What got into him?" Jungkook asked as he pointed towards the waiter who was also a friend since they were regular customers.

"You have missed episodes," Taehyung replied before he tear his gaze from him and faced Jungkook.

"His girlfriend cheated on him and they broke up," Jimin explained, making Jungkook display a slight shock before he just ended up nodding his head in understanding.

"However, such a thing could never happen to me. Ari loves me more than anything else and has eyes only for me." Taehyung found the need to brag confidently as he was sure of his beloved's heart.

"Well, do not say that. She is human like everyone else. You can never know what could happen." Jimin uttered deliberately, knowing the sensitive point of his friend who once he loves someone is given to them with soul and body and has absolute confidence in them and that had actually been the main reason Taehyung had been hurt several times until he had met Ari, of course.

"Look how much faith you have in a woman depends on her character but also on how capable the man is and that she meets all her needs, so I believe that I will never have such an issue with my Dae" The boys turned their attention to Yoongi who as always made himself look superior.

"You think you are the man, huh. I bet that if any capable dude that knows how to play his cards were to fall on Dae's path, she would definitely fall for him." Taehyung reacted a little irritated by the way his older had tried to present himself, even though Yoongi had actually tried to sound cocky on purpose just to have some fun.

"Oh is that so. Do you think the same is not true of your Ari then?"Yoongi couldn't help but feel slightly triggered by Taehyung's reply, making the conversation get a bit tense.

"Hey, hey. Calm down. What are you guys saying now? It doesn't even matter, it's hypothetical either way" Jungkook tried to calm the situation and gestured to his brother Jimin to help him.

"Exactly. No matter how much you two are to argue back and forth it wouldn't have any weight because you can't even prove who is right or wrong. Just let it go." Jimin did his attempt yet to his surprise his two friends remained staring at each other intensely for a bit more.

"There is a way. Of course, I do not know if you have the guts." Yoongi snickered at  Taehyung's challenging words for he sure found the fact that he was daring him, ridiculous.

"You are completely crazy !!" Jungkook uttered, feeling done with the two as he could no longer believe in his ears with what was happening at the moment.

"I trust my Ari to remain faithful so I'm in." Taehyung seemed confident, causing Jungkook and Jimin to look at each other and then at both of their friends with disapproving looks.

"And I have trust  in Dae so it's on." Yoongi held out his hand towards Taehyung and the two exchanged the handshake that closed the deal.

"In the next three months, if my Dae does not fall for your tricks, then the victory is mine and you will have to obey one of my wishes." Yoongi smiled as he was absolutely sure he had already won this little game.

"The same goes for you Hyung. If Ari rejects you, which she will definitely will, then you will be at my mercy." Taehyung replied just as sure of his beloved having agreed to play this game for the purpose of victory only.

"I am surrounded by crazy people," Jungkook murmured, giving up on them both for as always they liked to argue with each other about everything but he had never imagined they would even go so far as to fight for the faith of their loved ones.

Just where will this little game get them?
