Chapter 3

Inescapable

"What took you so long to open a simple door? You literally left me waiting out there for a quarter out time!!" You started complaining as soon as Ari opened the door for you, finding the delay absurd.

"Emm... We did not hear you, because, because... we were upstairs, yes upstairs and we started chatting and you know now." Ari tried to come off as calm despite the fact that every word that left her mouth was nothing but a lie as they were late because they were fixing the place up and helping Jimin to flee from the fire emergency stairs that the building had and that happened to pass through one of the windows of the apartment of Seon which was located on the fifth floor.

"All right, all right, where is our bride? I want to see her. I hope she has not had any anxiety attacks." You rushed up the stairs to the second floor with mixed feelings of worry and enthusiasm while Ari followed behind you with a dreading expression on her face.

"Good morning my love ~" You greeted Dae whom you found pacing from right to left in Seon's room and she instantly turned to face you, plastering a smile on her face as quickly as possible.

"Why are you like this? You shouldn't be the one to be anxious, it's not even your wedding, relax"  You couldn't help but start laughing as you found funny the way she seemed so stressed instead of being joyful for after all today was supposed to be a joyful day.

"Right, right, I know...but it's because we are the bridesmaids and I got stressed a little. I hope I don't stumble anywhere and fall and embarrass myself." Dae's words were quite convincing as she also had an alpha awkwardness in her blood so her feeling nervous over small things she most likely had overthought about, wasn't unlikely to happen.

"Oh come on! Stop thinking about things that could go wrong. Everything will go perfectly fine, you will see anyways... where is the bride though?" You encouraged her a bit and gave her a quick hug before you brought the attention back to where it should be, your gaze travelling around the room, and not finding Seon anywhere yet.

"She is taking a shower, yes, that's what she is doing," Ari answered somewhat reluctant, her eyes avoiding to meet yours although this time she was not lying yet tension still was present in her body.

"Okay, great then. Let's start the preparations slowly, in a bit the hairdresser will reach here with her staff and the wedding dress we chose will be delivered, so let's focus and get moving people." You clapped your hands once or two as you recapped everything that was due to happen, making the girls start thinking logically again as the marriage could not be cancelled after all that they went through with the preparations and money that Jungkook threw to make the wedding perfect, as his beloved dreamed of her special day to be.

--- time skip ---

Seon took a deep breath as her hands began to sweat from the stress, looking at herself dressed in the white wedding dress and adorned properly.

What am I doing? I really do not deserve to marry him after what happened. I can not do it.

Her footsteps were echoing around the room as she couldn't stop pacing, feeling more and more overwhelmed by the passing of time, for every tick was bringing the time when she would face Jungkook's eyes ever closer.

How was she gonna do that after what she had done with his own brother at that? It was wrong, it was impossible and she shouldn't. She had to tell him before the marriage happens, yet the fear of losing him was holding her in a chokehold and making her cowardice grow.

The door that suddenly opened, made her snap out of her torturing dilemma and turn around to, face her friends standing by the doorstep, now looking at her in all her bridal glory.

"Ah you look like a doll, so beautiful~" Dae left her eyes to travel from top to bottom, admiration visible in her orbs for in her eyes Seon had never looked better.

As Ari and Dae approached her, showing their pure excitement for the moment, You stood motionless to look at her for a moment before turning around and exiting the room as you didn't want the girls to notice the tears of happiness that welled up in your eyes.

You two had been friends since childhood and it was logical for you to get emotional and shed tears of joy while witnessing your best friend finally getting married and fortunately once again you will be by her side at an important moment in her life. A moment that you were truly wishing to be a door opening for her that will lead her to her best life.

After you quickly wiped your tears, you re-entered the room and approached her, engulfing her in a hug full of warmth, that instead of making Seon feel happy and safe, made her want to run away and disappear from the earth entirely.

"Whatever it is that you are thinking, just take a deep breath and calm down. You love this man and I know he loves you too so there is nothing to worry about," You felt her trembling body under your touch and understood the fact that she was nervous so you pulled away from the hug and looked at her in the eyes before you tried to calm her with your words.

It was normal for her to be mentally a wreck, after all, most women go through stress and nervousness before their wedding days.

Seon stared at you for quite a while, your warm smile and reassuring gaze, making her want to save this. For if she was to speak, she could risk losing you as much as she could risk losing Jungkook. The truth was always better and she was someone that didn't like injustice yet at that very moment she understood that she didn't have the guts to come clean so she just smiled back at you and nodded her head, showing that she agreed with your words.

Y/N is right, I can't throw away everything I have with Jungkook just for a mistake of a night. I can't throw away our friendship just for a guy. The past should be left in the past. It will never happen again anyways. Never.

I love Jungkook and he loves me and all I have to do is leave it my mistakes here. Whatever happened before our wedding doesn't count. From today I will start a new life, with the man of my dreams.

--- Time skip ---

Jungkook put his hands on his tie, trying to fix it for the umpteenth time as he waited in a crowded church for his beloved to arrive.

"If you touch this ruffled tie one more time, I swear I will throw a cuff at you." One of his best men, Yoongi whispered at his side, as Jungkook's nervousness had started bothering him too.

"Calm down brother, they most likely got stuck in traffic, she will come." Jimin put his hand on his brother's shoulder as he attempted to reassure him and Jungkook gave him a smile before he let a deep breath escape his lips as the fact that they were late had begun to worry him more than he should.

He hadn't spoken with her only for a day after all, what could happen in just 24 hours. He was just overthinking things and even though he was aware of that he couldn't stop himself from continuing swirling in his mind until the vehicle that the bride was supposed to come in with finally appeared on the horizon and stopped in front of the church which had its doors wide open and a red carpet was laid from beginning to end.

The girls got out of the back car and Seon from the first one where she was accompanied by her father and you.

Once outside you rushed to give her the bouquet as Ari fixed her the veil a little while Dae adjusted the tail of the wedding dress, leaving her afterwards with her father only so you could proceed to your place before she makes her big entrance.

The song began to play on the piano which was in the corner and the bride slowly began to enter inside, catching everyone's eye with her dazzling beauty.

Jungkook's eyes couldn't take themselves from her as a gleam of joy reflected his feelings for her in his eyes.

Seon smiled at him, as soon as she saw that gaze of his that filled her with warmth and made her doubts disappear in an instant. Those eyes full of love for her got her in a trace and she forgot about everyone's presence around her as if they were just the two of them.

Her father handed her hand to the groom telling him to take good care of his only child and Jungkook smiled at him and replied as his eyes turned back to Seon.

"Do not worry, Sir.  I will take care of her as much as my life because from now on, she is my life."

His words gave Seon more confidence, related to what she was about to do, for her decision to listen to her heart that was definitely beating for him, was not wrong. One wrong action, shouldn't be able to become a thorn in their love. Or so she rethought in her head over and over again, in an attempt to convince her own self, that it was gonna be alright.

The wedding ceremony had passed by without any implications after that, even though there were people that were on edge at every moment of it, and Jimin had exchanged many glances with Ari and Dae whom he knew that they knew. Yet he had not dared meet Seon's eyes not even once, even at the after-party, in which they had stayed partying for hours.

You sure had been among the ones that seemed to have been having the most fun at that wedding, for you surely were because it was your best friend's biggest day after all. If you wouldn't be the one celebrating it to the fullest then who would. You had danced until you couldn't feel your fit anymore and even drank a bit, despite the fact that you weren't a fan of alcohol.

There was no reason to worry about how to get home after all so why not get loose on this joyful day. Your boyfriend Jimin drove you back home to his apartment which you shared together for a while now.

Once at the doorstep of his apartment, he had stepped aside and let you get in first, witnessing you kicking your heels off your feet immediately after before you headed further inside and crushed on the couch.

Jimin closed the door and took off his coat as well as his shoes before he leaned over and fixed properly your heels that were scattered on the small hallway. Then he proceeded to come to find you on the couch where once he sat, he heard your complaints.

"I'm dead tired. Why did they invent heels, to begin with? Those are not shoes, they are torture." You whined as your legs were killing you, after all that dancing at the wedding party.

Jimin did not say anything back as he too was tired not only physically but also mentally as his thoughts had been eating him alive all day long.

He knew very well that what he had done was not right and he also knew that Seon loves his brother so there was no way she would have cancelled the marriage just for a  one-night stand that she passed with him as surely that was all it should have been for her but the point was that for him it was not just a one-night thing and that was what made him so unhappy.

He had longed for something like this to happen among them for a long time. For a simple touch, a smile, a caress, share a kiss, even becoming one with her on the days that his imagination could get bold. Freeing his ardent desire for this woman under the secure veil of his fantasy.

Yet he had brought that imagination to life.

She had no feelings of love or anything like that, for him and he had lied to himself many times before too, labelling his feelings as nothing more but longing for her. A longing that shouldn't exist at all, to begin with. Yet it did and it had only grown more and more with time.

Why had that happened? He wasn't sure. How had he ended so invested in her to the point that no day had gone by without thinking about her? To the point where he had created a pool of sins in his mind and he dived in it, every time Seon was to come to his sight. Why had she ended up being Jungkook's and not his?

For one thing, though, he was sure and that was that he loves his brother and that he would not want to hurt him. He had chained himself in silent torture all these years just for him and he had to do it again. He will bury the events of last night in his memory and will never talk about it again to anyone, not even to himself.

"You fell asleep?" Your voice caught his attention and made him snap out of his thoughts, his head tilting slightly to face you as his eyes remained half-closed.

"Do you want me to bring a blanket so you can lay here?" You added as you reached your hand and caressed his cheek lightly, realizing that he seemed pretty tired himself, maybe tired enough to not find the strength to stand up and go to the bedroom.

Jimin took your hand in his hold and smiled lightly at you, feeling lucky to have a girl that always cares about him and does her best to understand him, but as always this day a bit more, he felt guilty towards you, for he was having such inappropriate feelings for another woman...and had even touched another woman.

"It's okay, let's go to bed." He replied and got up, pulling you along with him.

As soon as you arrived in his room, you both fell onto the bed with your clothes on and left your heavy eyelids close in order to drift asleep yet even with your eyes closed, the mind of one of you two didn't seem to fall asleep, for scenes of last night kept flashing in his mind.

Jimin shook his head in irritation before he approached your body and mumbled if he could hug you, hoping that you would accept his touch this once and you gave him a soft positive reply, half asleep already. He engulfed you in a back hug and covered you both with a blanket, hoping that the warmth of your body will get his thoughts away from her, yet once he closed his eyes, Seon's face flashed in his mind again along with the sound of her breaths and the feeling of the kisses that he had trailed down her neck.

Damn it... I want her.
