Chapter 27

Dae stopped in the corner to catch her breath as she ran from the parking lot to the small cafe where Taehyung was waiting for her.

That was the only time he had a break today so she had to take her lunch break a little later than her other days. She had promised him after all that she would help him with the problem he had.

Taehyung had told her that he had a schoolgirl who seemed strange lately, her behaviour had worried him and that was why he had asked for Dae's help as an expert.

And it was logical so Dae couldn't refuse her help as Taehyung was also a friend so in a sense, she felt obliged to give him her helping hand.

Because of this, she had become accustomed to meeting him often lately, in the mornings, at noon, or in the afternoon. Whenever he called her, she would go.

But their meetings, although of a professional nature, never took place in her office, since it always felt too far away for him to go there, so she was the one who, like now, ran to meet him in cafes, parks or in general where he told her that he would be.

The job of a psychologist was certainly not easy and having Taehyung as a client had certainly proved to be no easy task for her

She pushed open the cafeteria glass door, making her entrance and glancing around until she noticed his presence at a table in the background, by the window.

"Sorry I am late. I tried my best to get here the fastest I could." She told him as soon as she approached him and he noticed her.

"It doesn't matter, the world wasn't on fire anyways " He replied with a smile, as he got up and pulled the chair for her to sit on.

"But still-  Don't you have a lesson in half an hour?" She told him as he sat down whispering a polite 'thank you.'

"I have but I hoped you would not have anything on your schedule after our meeting. Do you?" Taehyung asked her and Dae looked at him confused before answering.

"Em, if it's something urgent I can cancel, I only have one appointment for the afternoon. Did something happen?" She appeared worried but he just smiled at her.

"I was thinking to invite you to come over to school with me right now. Take a closer look at the case. What do you say?" He offered her, before taking a sip of his coffee.

"It's not a bad idea because if I was to meet that girl personally it would be a lot of help and I could come off with clearer conclusions. But are you sure she would be open to meeting a stranger like me?" Taehyung smiled again before reassuring her with his words for he had literally promised to that student a great grade and a gift if she was to help him out and pretend like she was in need of psychological help.

"Of course, it's my last hour after all. Then I'll take you back to your office or wherever you want to go. I give you my word." He grabbed hold of his keys as he spoke, already knowing that he had convinced her and reassured her, his alibi in case she was to have doubts that he was lying to her or something.

"Great, let's go then!"She appeared enthusiastic as she stood up and he followed, slightly holding himself back from cracking up at her obliviousness. For unlike her the only reason he was doing this, is to ensure that he could continue having a valuable excuse to spend time with her.

---Change of set--

You gasped as soon as your manager told her to go to Jungkook's office, who had asked to see you.

You had no appetite to get up from your seat the truth nor to hear anything he could possibly want to tell you but since Jimin was in his office as well, it probably wouldn't be for work.

Jimin... The scenes of last night were still lingering in your mind. How horrible everything felt and all that had happened.

Maybe you didn't do well that you followed him. Maybe you should have left him alone, and maybe you should have been angrier with him, but unfortunately, you weren't.

The lies he had said to you, indeed make you angry and left you thirsting for revenge on him, because even though your relationship was not perfect, you had never lied to him, you had never done anything that could humiliate him or make him feel inferior like he had made you feel. You hadn't cheated on him nor even thought about it, even if he ended up doing both apparently.

You had all the right to be mad, and pay them back yet what were you doing?  You were sitting down and feeling sorry for both of them because they seemed to hurt.

Just how much of a fool could you be?

The thought only left you a little disappointed with yourself, but then Seon came to your mind with whom you had to have a conversation.

You had to learn the reason for her betrayal. You had to know if she had a purpose, to begin with, and it should happen, today.

Ari looked with wonder at the man who appeared on the doorstep of her shop once more.

She really didn't understand why Yoongi had started visiting her so often. Spending lunch breaks with her and even taking the trouble to come and pick her up from work as soon as she finishes.

It was not that she was bothered by his company or something like that, it was just weird since they could barely be considered friends. He was just her boyfriend's best friend and her friend's boyfriend.

Yet with his frequent visits, someone could think that he was her boyfriend instead for not even Taehyung that actually was her boyfriend, didn't make that much time for her randomly within a day.

Of course, again she may be just overthinking this and he could be just trying to build a friendship between them which she couldn't find a reason for to exist, outside their friend group.

"Always on time." She told him ironically, for his behaviour wasn't making sense to her, no matter how much she had tried to find an explanation.

"I'm an accurate person." He replied as he took the first steps inside her office.

"And you always come so silently, you know it can scare someone when they see someone all of a sudden, right?" She told him as she put aside her last bouquet of flowers.

"I'm calm by nature. Of course, that can change," Yoongi spoke nonchalantly nothing but facts but his words came off weirdly to her.

"What about you?" He added as he approached her again until he stopped a step away from her.

"Sorry, I don't understand the question," Ari answered him honestly as she really didn't understand what kind of question that was exactly.

"I mean I have good self-control. Do you have?" Yoongi rephrased his phrase, a sly smile dancing on his lips.

"That's what I want to believe." She replied, now feeling slightly shy by his behaviour.

"Do you want to test it?" She stared at him blankly for a while, before turning and walking away from him, heading for the couch at the edge of the room where she had left her bag.

"Are you drunk? You know that you have been behaving strangely and if you don't  stop I will probably have to ask you to leave." Ari couldn't help but lose her patience a bit, giving him a sharp answer as the atmosphere he had created didn't seem to be friendly and that worried her or to rather say....it made her feel alarmed.

"You have no appetite for jokes today it seems. The truth is I don't have either." Yoongi's face grew serious as he took a seat in the chair and left his head hanging low dramatic while inwardly he was feeling happy for all was going according to plan.

"I am sure you must be wondering why I have started coming so often lately right?" He asked her without looking at her.

"I wanted to know if you know anything ... I was trying to fish information out of you ..see if I can trust you." He continued without waiting for Ari's reply.

"I don't understand. Trust me in what? And what is it that I am supposed to know?" She, now totally confused and ignorant of his words, approached him and sat in the chair next to him.

But he remained silent, looking down, making Ari grow more worried and placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Yoongi, is something going on?" She asked him and he slowly brought his head to face her with two eyes that reflected pain.

"Dae ... I think Dae .. is cheating on me." His words left Ari speechless and her reaction brought some joy to Yoongi who had just played the card of sorrow to bring her closer to him.

He was a lawyer that never goes out without a perfectly planned layout. So there was no way Taehyung could ever defeat him. From the start, his aim wasn't to win Ari over, for he was in love with Dae but he also wanted to win this bet. So instead he had planned to eliminate his opponent by simply getting him out of the game.

Once Ari starts seeing his moves as suspicious toward her friend, Taehyung will have no other options. He will either give up or lose her forever.

A mastermind Yoongi felt like he was, a man that few would dare to challenge and the ones that did dare, he would make it certain they get their lessons.
