Chapter 17
You sighed wearily as you reached the door of your apartment and let your head come in contact with the door, briefly before you pulled back and inhaled a deep breath then proceeded to unlock the door and enter.
Once inside you kicked the door close behind you, for your hands were occupied with bags as on your way home you had done some shopping at the supermarket, knowing that Jimin wouldn't be home tonight because he had the shift that left him to sleep in Tokyo and would be back tomorrow morning. With that in mind, you had bought things to cook food for him and leave it ready for when he returns, because you will most likely be at work by that time.
You entered the living room absorbed in your own thoughts, only for a figure to rise abruptly from the couch, startling the heck out of you, as you literally jumped back a step or two with your breath cut sharply.
"Dear lord~ Why do you appear like that!? I almost brought the bags on your head !!" You shouted at Jimin who to your surprise was not where you thought he would be.
"Sorry. Did I scare you?" He asked as he approached you anxiously, for he didn't have any intention to prank you. All he was, was a leaving mess who had gotten lost in his own thought and fears of facing you until the sound of the door had reached his ears, signalling him that the moment he was wishing to avoid, had reached him.
"What the hell are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in Tokyo?" You raised an eyebrow at him before you turned around to walk towards the kitchen and leave the bags there.
"A colleague needed leave for tomorrow and we changed shifts." He explained to you as he followed reluctantly behind you.
"Oh is that so. Okay then."
A silence fell between you after that reply of yours, leaving only the sound from your bags to be heard as you started taking things out and placing them in their respective places on the shelves and others in the fridge.
"Jimin? You look a bit pale to me. You alright?" As your gaze fell on him once or twice, you happened to notice the colour complexion of his face seemed different than usual.
"Eh?! Ah! It's because of tiredness and after the allergic shock I had earlier, my energy dropped a bit." He replied as casually as he could possibly make himself sound while he proceeded to avoid looking in your eyes, as what dried up his energy was not only the allergy but also an activity he did afterwards.
"Allergic shock!! Oh My, what happened ?!" You anxiously ran to him, cupping his face in your hands while you scanned him up and down worriedly.
"Don't worry. It's over now. I'm fine." Jimin tried to reassure you, a smile faltering on his lips as inwardly he felt like rubbish. Only if he could admit how much he didn't deserve your concern, especially after what he had done some hours ago.
"What are you even saying? Come on, do not stand up. Quickly take a seat." You grabbed him by the arm and dragged him to the couch where he sat without any objections, for his tongue felt like it had gotten tied in a knot under the display of your care for him.
"Sit here and don't move. I will bring you a blanket and I will go and make you a soup that will give you energy." You ran to the room to do what you told him and he just put his face between his hands, sighing heavily.
How do you tell her now if she behaves like that?
He thought as he had decided to tell you that he had cheated on you, naturally leaving aside the detail of with whom he had cheated on you, for he wouldn't want to be responsible for breaking your lifelong friendship with Seon.
You didn't take long to return with the blanket in your hands and he laid down as you approached, making it easier for you to cover him and smiled at him, stroking his hair a little before returning to go to the kitchen to cook for him.
The truth is that you were very tired at the time and would have liked to sit for a few minutes to catch your breath since you had just come home from work on foot, not wanting to get a taxi and waste money and not even the subway at such a time at night because It seemed a bit scary to you to be underground in a vehicle at late hours. However, even if it had been a tough day, you couldn't help but prioritize his health and start cooking.
The sound of the food being made and the smells that soon reached the living room where Jimin was still remaining silent, made him think of time as the sand that was ticking on his head, ready to bury him alive. In his head silent, restarting the dilemma if he should truly tell you after all or not.
"Come on, drink this juice until the food is cooked. I just put it on the fire, it won't take long." Your voice woke him up from his thoughts as you soon appeared in his field of vision with a glass of freshly placed orange juice in your hand.
He thanked you before he proceeded to get himself in a sitting position, his legs still outstretched, taking up the entire space of the sofa.
You gave him the glass and in order to not disturb him, you decided to sit on the floor for the few minutes you had free, turning the TV on soon after just so you could have something to occupy your time with.
"Why are you like this?" Jimin's words that he uttered after a bit, made you gift him a puzzled look as you turned your attention to him.
"You don't need to look over me so much, It's not like I am dying." Jimin's tone of voice sounded hostile, as all the attention you had shown him, had made him feel so bad and had made things more difficult emotionally for him.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel bad nor to imply that you are weak in any way...I just imagined that everyone would like someone to take care of them when they feel sick." You replied, with sincerety for you had no intention to offend him, as such he seemed to you for the moment, yet your apology had only made him feel even worse for he had made you say sorry for simply showing affection to him.
"I didn't mean that. Just ... leave it." You looked at him perplexed, as he uttered those confusing words, that made him come off in your eyes as someone who was struggling to express himself. Knowing him, he rarely was like that unless there was something that was troubling him so you couldn't help but instantly think that something was going on with him.
And so you decided to approach him a bit, now positioned on your knees as your hands reached at the edge of the cough, your face now right at the side of his face that was still a light higher than you due to the placement.
"Jimin. What's wrong? You know you can tell me anything, right?" You asked him wanting to make him open up and share any problem that could have possibly been tormenting him, because after all if he couldn't say it to you then to whom.
His gaze travelled at you reluctantly, his mouth remaining shut for a few minutes before his eyes began to water, causing you to panic for seeing him tearing up was definitely something you weren't expecting.
Worried about him, you stretched out your arms, bringing his head to your embrace while he rested the glass on the table behind you before allowing himself to wrap his arms around you with difficulty. Feeling himself on the edge to lose his self-control and let those weld-up tears burst down his cheeks.
"It's okay. Everything will be alright. Whatever it is, you will make it through. I am here... I believe in you."You told him as you proceeded to gently stroke his hair wanting to reassure him but unfortunately, your benevolent words became poison in his veins.
I am so sorry. I didn't intend to hurt you but now I can not back down.
I am sorry, That I will be taking advantage of your kindness and innocence.
---Change of set---
Seon had slept in the warm embrace of Jungkook who had tenderly rested his head on hers, her body weighing on his chest as she was now asleep and he just kept his eyes closed and enjoyed the moment with a smile on his lips.
The feeling of having her next to him was unique, as his heart never stopped beating at a strange pace, filling him with feelings of happiness that until he met her, he considered impossible to exist.
For that reason when he had won her love, it had felt like he had won a whole new world. A world full of happiness for as long as she will be a part of his life, he didn't think any negative emotion could ever get a hold of him.
Seon's sudden movement in her sleep, made Jungkook's hold around her lose up a bit, only for some incomprehensible muttering words to escape her lips after, making him conclude that she was most likely seeing some kind of dream.
"Calm down my love. Calm down. It's just a dream." He whispered sweetly to her as he stroked her hair trying in an attempt to soothe her
"Ji ... Min .." She murmured under her breath, making Jungkook who had not heard her well raise his head and lean his ear closer to her, trying to hear her better, wondering if she had just asked him something and he hadn't caught it.
"What did you say, my love?" He questioned her as his hand now rested on her forehead.
"Too .. I want ..you" She added, allowing her words to become the reason that a smile popped on his lips before throwing his head back on his pillow.
"Ah, my baby. I agree that you should love me but you don't have to even dream about me." He told her even though he knew she was asleep and couldn't hear him and then left a tender kiss on her forehead, then proceeded to cuddle her again, now feeling even happier than he had been a few minutes before.
Despite the fact that he was not who she was dreaming of.
I want you ... Jimin ... I want you.
