"That's not possible..."

"I thought you'd react that way." Alec said after changing back to his human form.

Zach looked over to Skyler to see he had the same shocked expression, but a smile began to spread across his face.

"So you're a werewolf?"

"Seriously?" Zach and Alec said in unison, annoyance lacing the word.

"That wasn't a no." He smirked.

"I'm not a werewolf!"

He sighed, crossing his arms. "Fine." And dropped the subject.

"Ok so everything is confusing I'm sure, but I'll explain it all because I think you, Zach, can help me. And I'll help you in return. And I know you're going to say 'how, I have nothing you want' but I assure you, you do."

"What about me?" Skyler piped up.

"Well that's yet to seen. So where should I start?.... alright I'm what we called a Shifter. There's dou-shifters that can turn into two animals and tri-shifters that can do three. Those are rare but powerful. I can shift into a wolf, a creature that I chose.

So while I can shift my form others can summon an animal weather through sprit it or as their power. Some can control elements such as water or fire. Don't worry no one is strong enough to cause a tsunami or anything.

The supernatural live among you and you don't even know it. We need to stay hidden because we don't want anything to happen to us. Umm... this is off topic but.. do you know Jake Dasher?"

"Yeah, well not really. He disappeared a week ago. Wait do you what happened to him?" Zach asked.

"Yeah... there's s wolf sanctuary on the edge of the forest, you know that already. That's not true-"

"Ha, I knew it!" Skyler yelled. "Oh sorry, continue on."

Alec cleated his throat, "Yeah, that's where they kept me. They keep other people like me there too. When Jake disappeared that's because he was taken. I talked to him, he said he approached the forest after having many reoccurring dreams there. That when the guards spotted him and chased h-"

"I know."

"As I was sayi- wait what?!"

"I was there, I saw them chasing him, but that's all I saw. I didn't know who he was or why they chased him. I was watching tv and his picture showed up, saying he was missing and I knew it was the person I saw."

"Why didn't they take you then."

"It was a dream, but it felt real. And apparently it was." Zach clarified.

"So you do have a power." Alec whispered himself.

"What?" Zach asked, not hearing what he'd said.

Skyler walked forward, "What do you mean, a power."

"You weren't supposed to hear that... Yet, i mean yet."

Skyler gave him an annoyed  look causing him to sigh and start explaining, "I need your help. And you need mine so.. m-"

"Why do we need yours." Skyler said in annoyance, crossing his arms. Zach stood next him uncomfortably. Why was Skyler so mad, Alec didn't do anything wrong.

"I was getting there," Alec's annoyed tone matching Skyler's. He sighed quietly before continuing, "So the sanctuary, they kept me there, along with others. They torcrued us with all these medical tests. I got fed up with it and stopped cooperating. When they found out they weren't happy and they.. punished me then forced me to cooperate.

It's not just them, there's someone else. Anyway, um I need your help, I promised I'd help Jake escape and you can help me, cause you have a power." Alec explained. He said something else under his breath that neither of the boys could make out.

"How can you help us though?" Skyler asked.

"Well it's more Zach than you. Zach, I'll be blunt, you have a power. I can help you learn to use it. And that white wolf, I can tell you about her. So what do you say?" Alec said, his voice wavering a bit. He was anxious, like he really needed their help.

Zach looked at Skyler asking his opinion though their eye contact. Instead of nodding or shaking his head At him he looked at Alec.

"No."

"Um, sorry what he means is we'll talk about it. Can you give us a minute?" Zach asked.

"Oh yeah, sure." He said nervously and walked out of Zach's room, shutting the door quietly behind him.

"What do you mean no, we'd be helping people. It doesn't feel right to leave them there, even if we don't know who they are, we should at least try." Zach said.

"What chance do you think we stand against these people. They know how to beat people like Alec. They know their weakness, we don't. We don't know how this place so we don't have a chance at breaking in."

"What happened to you." Zach said, his expression turning serious.

"What?" Skyler ask, confused by Zach's sudden statement.

"This isn't the Skyler I know. Something happened to you, you don't give up this easily. So tell me," he said, "what happened."

He sighed, "Nothing happened, I just think we shouldn't just run in blind. That's what Jake did and that's why he's there and not us. "

"Is there's something else?"

"No, that's it. I care about you and I don't want to see you get caught.... I'll say yes on one condition. You need to be trained, like you need to know how to use your power and be able to defend yourself enough to do well on your own. And I need to know how to fight as well incase I need to protect you or myself."

"Deal." Zach nodded and opened the door. Alec came in. He was fidgeting with his fingers anxiously.

"So?" He asked quietly, hope gleaming in his light brown eyes.

"We'll help you save Jake."
