•Chapter Five•

After the party, you, Mello and Matt got back to the apartment. Matt was basically sober while you and Mello were drunk. If Matt wasn't there who knows what you and Mello would've done, but he was there and you were grateful.
In the morning you woke, in the corner of the room, with a little headache and memories of the party. You knew Mello didn't love you, you knew he only kissed you because of the game that was being played. You weren't going to let one party, one kiss and your emotions get in the way of solving the Kira case. Maybe if you finished this case you could go out and make some friends, because you learned to love company. You got up and went to the kitchen to find something minty. You found a box of tic tacs and smiled. You grabbed it and sat on the sofa, pulling your knees close to you. You ate them, spacing out, wondering what would it be like if he did like you. Your thoughts where interrupted when Matt walked in. He noticed that you were awake, instantly smirking at you.

"Morning Strawberry." You said as you stood up from the sofa and headed for the bathroom. If Matt was awake you knew that Mello would be awake soon, and that meant you'd have to get to work, meaning there would be no time for you to get ready. You took a quick shower. Once you were finished, you noticed you forgot to bring fresh clothes in. You sighed as you let your wet hair down. You wrapped your towel around your body and walked out of the bathroom, seeing Mello and Matt already dressed. Mello eating his chocolate and Matt playing on his video games.

"Do you know where my clean clothes are?" You asked. Mello was looking at his computer, too busy to see you.

"Just wear what you're wearing now and let's go." Mello sighed.

"I'm not going out in a towel, I have some dignity." You said as you walked passed them. You heard Matt curse as he died in his game, looking up slowly at you. At first it seemed like Mello didn't hear you until he too looked up.

"Like what you see?" You winked as you grabbed fresh clothes from you bags. You walked back into the bathroom. You put on your black tights, black miniskirt and blue crop top. You dried your hair and put it up, a few strands falling over your face. You brushed your teeth and did your make up, feeling like you looked awful as well as having a hangover. You walked out of the bathroom, sitting on the sofa next to Mello.

"Aren't those clothes a bit revealing?" Mello asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I'm sorry but these are the only clothes I have left and I can't find a goddamn washing machine anywhere." You sighed as you tried to pull your skirt down anymore. You felt Mello and Matt looking at you, but you tried to push it aside.

"So, what are we doing today?" You asked, looking at Mello, tilting your head.

"Me and Matt are busy. You can do whatever until we come back."

"As long as you bring coffee and something minty and some aspirin." You told them more than asked. Mello glared at you but didn't disagree.

"You cost so much money." Mello mumbled.

"Well this doesn't come cheap." You said as you motioned to yourself. "It takes time and money to look this perfect every day and also have enough energy to actually do something worth my time." You smirked. Matt looked at you like you were high.

"Are you okay?" Matt asked.

"You know what Strawberry, I think I'm still slightly drunk." You laughed. He was about to say something when Mello got up and headed for the door. Matt followed behind, leaving you alone in the house again. You plugged your iPod into the speakers and put it on shuffle, being bored and unsocial like every other day, waiting for Mello and Matt to come home. Maybe Matt would come home first so you both could play Mario Kart and you could show him that you are, in fact, better than him. You sat on the sofa, reading a book as music blasted from the speakers.
