Amethyst's P.O.V

"I hope they're alright. They've been gone for over an hour now." CJ says.

"Yeah I hope so too. Mom told us that when we hear a noise that we need to hide in our closet." I say. There was suddenly a loud banging noise from the front door. Another comes moments later.

"What is that?!" CJ asks.

"CJ! Amethyst! Open the door!" Someone yells.

"It knows our names! We need to hide-"

"No we don't dingus. It's Dad." I say and run out of the room. I open the front door seeing Dad carrying Mom, who is passed out. I gasp.

"What happened to Mom?" I ask worriedly.

"I'll tell you in a minute. Open our bedroom door for me please." Dad says. I run over to Mom and Dad's bedroom door and open it. Dad places Mom on the bed and takes a deep breath.

"Is Mom alright?" CJ asks.

"Yeah. We found a ravine and since she's terrified of heights, she went pale and she froze. I asked her if she was alright and she said yes, so we started heading home. Not even a minute after, she basically collapsed to the ground, saying she felt sick and weak. She also looked as if she was going to pass out. She got sick and I helped her up, but she literally just passed out cold. Last night she told me that something pinched her arm. I looked at it and seen that it looked like a needle was stuck into her arm. Whatever liquid was in it probably was the cause of it." Dad explains. Wow. "Why don't you guys get ready for bed. I'll wake you up if anything happens." CJ and I nod and head back to our room.

"Should we check the basement for something that could have caused this?" CJ asks. I give him a stupid look.

"No you idiot! Unless you want to wake up the the next morning perfectly fine, then go ahead!" I yell. CJ just looks at me then nods. I climb up to the top bunk and cover myself in the blankets. 'I hope Mom's ok.' I thought as I slowly drift off to sleep.
