INTRODUCED

I turned around to see Arthur Crawford walking up to Marcus and me looking awfully annoyed. I was honestly thankful that at least he was not in the favor of this charade as well. We were joined by three other boys as well, but none of them seemed to be bothered by all that was going on. I am going to admit all of them were quite handsome.

It always probed to know if fame makes a person beautiful or is it just the beauty that gets them fame. I had never in my life seen any unattractive person making it to fame. I always wondered how it worked.

There were two boys who looked quite alike. I think they were brothers, not twins though since I could distinguish one from the other. Both of them had shaggy blonde hair, but one had it short enough to make them stand up on his head pointing in every direction possible and the other had it slightly long so that they fell onto his forehead. The third guy was equally as charming. He had curly locks like a cap on his head. They weren't wild or messy, but quite soft and I had an inner urge to touch them. The little ringlets that fell slightly above his ink black brows were tempting me to roll my finger in them.

He was looking at me, intently, if I am classifying the way he stared at me right. His eyes were narrowed and a slight smile played on his thin lips. His hands were shoved into the pockets of his cream colored trousers. I noticed it then that they were all dressed quite casually. I supposed they didn't consider it to be some kind of an official meeting the way Marcus had. Or perhaps it was just the way he dressed.

I kept rocking on my feet back and forth as Marcus and Arthur were having a- what seemed to be heated up conversation. There were no yelling just angry whispers I couldn't catch a single word of. I looked up at Valarie who was still in her armchair watching Marcus and Arthur argue. Arthur seemed very upset with the whole thing. Valarie's eyes turned to me then. She smiled and gestured me to go and talk to the boys at the other side of the room.

I turned my head to look at them. The two blondes were ensconced on the huge couch in front of the TV, whose screen was still black, scrolling through their phone. The curly haired one was busy checking stuff out. He seemed quite interested in the décor since he was examining everything very keenly. Usually, I loved talking around but at the moment with what the situation was, I didn't feel like talking to any of them, even though they were celebrities.

I saw Valarie get up when Marcus and Arthur moved to the other room to have a private conversation. She walked up to me with a smile and said, 'go talk to them. Be the fan girl for a moment.'

Fan girl, I repeated in my head. I wasn't their fan to say the least. Of course I liked their voice and music but I just was beginning to listen to their compositions and that too because it was all that was playing in the room. The song, Down, was currently playing and I just couldn't help but drool over how sweet all of their voice sounded. Maybe I was their fan already. But honestly I still wasn't getting the feeling I got every time I heard U2; that being the crazy fan girl wanting to yell their name on the top of her lungs, wanting to just touch them once. Perhaps I just liked The Black Illusions; it was a long way to fandom.

When I didn't react Valarie smiled. 'Alright let me just introduce you all.'

I smiled back and gave a nod.

'Boys,' Valarie called out. 'Care to join us for a minute; I want you to meet someone.'

I saw the blonde boys spring off the couch and run over to us as if they were racing; the curly haired one took his time and strolled over to join his friends. All of their eyes were on me; the spiky haired blonde smiled at me, the other was confused while the curly haired one looked amused. Well, too many expressions to comprehend all at once, this were going to be interesting.

'This is Chastity Ericht. Chastity-' Valarie was soon interrupted by the curly one who was looking at her surprised and amused as he said, 'We need to be introduced?'

Valarie laughed. 'Just going by the protocol,' she said shrugging. 'This is Blake Friel,' gesturing towards the curly haired boy she said. Then moving her hand to the brothers she added, 'The Weiz twins- Noah-' the spiky blonde one, '- and Nolan.'

'Hello all,' I said smiling warmly at them as I waved my hand.

'Hi,' the twins said atone.

It made me giggle. It was a funny thing to do, speak in unison when you are twins I mean. I wished I had a twin to do that too. Blake just gave a nod in my direction with a smile.

'I will leave you guys to talk,' Valarie said and left us. She patted my back smiling before she went in the opposite direction. I smiled back, feeling nervous for the first time.

I turned back to the three pairs of curious eyes staring at me. I rocked back and forth on my feet once as I spoke, 'So are you guys going to interview me?'

They chuckled. 'Sorta,' Nolan said.

'So you are the chosen one,' Blake guessed.

I shrugged. 'I am, but I wish I weren't.'

One of his brows rose up. 'We lads aren't sexy enough for you?'

'Oh, no. It's not that. It just the job.' I felt my cheeks heat up a bit as I realized that I had just admitted they were sexy to their face. Way to go, Chast!

'It sucks,' Noah said.

I shouldn't have been, but I actually was surprised to find that not only the boys looked similar, but also their voices were quite same. Thank god they were not identical or else I would've had a hard time telling who was who. Come to think of it, it would've been a great fun.

'Then you are not taking it?'It wasn't a question, just an assumption Noah had put forward, which sounded like one.

I shook my head, biting my lower lip.

'That's a first,' Blake said, scoffing. He was amused and equally surprised and somehow similar to Marcus. Perhaps Marcus had rubbed off on him for the time they have worked together. 'And you are not a fan either?'

'I like you guys, I mean you all are handsome-'I just had to say this and Noah went, 'Oh thank Lord! There is at least one that doesn't say we're cute but handsome! I like her!'

'Actually,' I went, 'I was just going to conjunct that but now I have decided against it. Let's just leave you to like me.'

I earned a laugh from all of them. I continued, 'Seriously though, why do you guys need a paid up girlfriend when you can go out with anyone you like? I mean, if you look at your audience closely, you will find many girls ready to do whatever you want them to and that too free of cost!'

'We have dated girls of our liking in the past,' Noah said, slightly serious for a while. 'But our job is such that doesn't let us stay in one place for long.' He gestured for me to walk towards the couch. He was tired of standing. They all walked to the couch while I followed them unsure. He continued, 'my ex- girlfriend broke up for the same cause. I never had enough time for her.'

'Yeah, it's all day work,' Nolan said, grabbing my attention as he plopped down on the couch beside his brother. 'We have to practice, go to conferences, have concerts, and play at parties, record albums; there hardly is any time for dedicated relationships. We sometimes have to sleep at the studio and sometimes we don't sleep at all.'

This really was a pain at the side job. I suddenly felt pity surge through me and the respect I had for them went two stages up. They were all so dedicated to their work. Shakespeare was right in quoting sweet are the uses of adversity. Their job was really tough, but it paid well. But I certainly wouldn't want to stand in their shoes ever. I could tell that this job was never meant for me. I would've resigned the next day of trouble. Suddenly, my life problems didn't seem as big and I was mentally thanking God for being so kind to me.

'I am so sorry,' I said, sinking down in the couch beside Nolan, maintaining my distance. Blake sat on the armrest at a distance behind me. There was place for one more person on the couch but he was just being respectful. I liked the vibe I got around them. None of them came across as arrogant- well, with one exception, but he had a right to- or egoist, even though they were world famous, celebrities. They struck to me as they were just some other people I met at my university. They weren't boasting, or bragging continuously about their platinum hits. They just talked about casual stuff. And it was very admiring that they were all so humble.

'Don't be,' Noah said, shifting in a way that he was facing me. 'We are now accustomed to it and it doesn't bother as much.'

'Didn't you guys have trouble adjusting?' I wanted to know.

'We did,' Nolan and Noah said in unison again. Nolan continued, 'It's really hard adjusting. I mean, imagine you all by yourself in the world with no parents to greet you at home or friends to talk to. But it wasn't as hard for Noah and me or Blake as it had been on Arthur. And he still isn't completely accustomed.'

'What is different?' I got a feeling that I was interviewing them while it should've been me the one to be answering all of their questions.

'Well,' Blake spoke up and I turned my head to him. 'I have lived in London all my life and I still live with my parents. Nolan and Noah are from Westminister, but they have each other so they are not very alone. As far as Arthur is considered, he might come off as a strong individual, but he actually is not. It's all just a masquerade for everyone. He first came from Eastchester and is all alone. He feels out of place though he won't admit.'

'He is not as arrogant though,' Nolan said in his friend's defense. 'He is the glue to this group.'

'He was the one to bring us all together in first place,' Noah added to his brother's words. 'But he is also righteous. He doesn't go with the wrong... for instance,' he didn't complete but pursing his lips gestured in the direction of the room Marcus was in with Arthur and I understood the rest.

'He doesn't really like Marcus,' Nolan said, scrunching up his nose.

'None of us do,' Blake corrected. 'But we still can put up with him while he just can't. Arthur despises him.'

'To be honest, he didn't really make a really good impression on me either,' I admitted with a disgusted look.

They laughed.

'Miss Ericht,' I heard Valarie call my name from behind. We all turned my head to look in her direction and at once I was on my feet and already walking towards her. She held out one hand which she rested at the small of my back as I trotted over to her. She began, 'how did you like the boys?'

I smiled. 'They are all very welcoming.' And it wasn't at all a lie.

'Did you think about the offer?' she asked.

My shoulders slouched down as I once again realized what I was here for. The little chat I had had with the boys took me to a whole different place making me forget that I was actually being offered to play as a girlfriend to one of them which was really disgusting even though the boys were so good. It wasn't actually fair to them. Reality actually sucks.

She caught on my despaired look and got her answer. 'See, the situation here is that, Arthur isn't in favor of this too, but he has agreed to audition the girls himself. You can audition tomorrow; it will just be a short interview. Then if you get approved of, we can give you a choice to stay or leave. We won't force you. But this really should stay a secret. The boys have put in a lot of hard work and one wrong rumor can ruin their hard work.'

And I certainly didn't want that for them. I gave a nod. 'Can I leave?'

She smiled and gave me a nod. I walked over to the recliner I had been sitting on to grab my tote bag that held my compositions. I thought they might be handy if they were to consider making me their lyricist or video director. But nothing of that sort happened. Anyway, their loss.

And almost as if on cue, the song in the back ground sang, 'so good bye, good bye to you... you. I hope, we'll meet soon and if you were to forgive what just happened... then maybe you don't have to leave so soon.'

I grabbed my tote and slid it up my arm. Turning to Valarie I asked, 'Where do I turn up tomorrow?'

'Be ready by tomorrow morning we will send a car for you don't worry.'

I smiled to her. As I turned to leave my eyes caught the boys walking up to me. I smiled at them warmly. 'It was real fun talking to you guys,' I said, my voice perked up.

'Leaving so soon?' Nolan asked, not liking the idea.

I gave him a sympathetic as well as apologetic look. 'I have a paper due on Monday.'

'A student?' Noah said surprised.

I nodded, smiling.

'Wow! Where?'

'The London school of Literature and Arts,' I replied.

'Amazing!' I couldn't get what was so amazing to Nolan but I smiled nevertheless. 'It was a pleasure meeting you, Chastity. I like you.'

I took his proffered hand and shook it blushing and grinning. 'Likewise.'

'I hope we meet soon,' Noah said, astonishing me by pulling me into a bear hug.

I huffed out a laugh and replied, 'take your wish granted, I will see you guys tomorrow.'

He pulled back shocked as well as pleased. 'Really? So you're taking up the job?'

I shrugged. I was still indecisive. 'Still against but am considering now. It's just an audition anyway. I will turn up, not that Arthur will actually select me.'

'But we will,' Blake said winking at me.

I laughed, blushing I pushed a lock of my wavy hair behind my ear. 'I still hold the power to turn you guys down.'

They laughed again.

Blake shook my hand. 'See you tomorrow.'

'Sure thing.'
