Fellow Shifters of the Supernatural,

       We send you this letter following our greatest tragedy. Three months ago, our seven beloved lunas were murdered, and as you are no doubt aware, we have mourned the losses of our beautiful mates.

       Our werewolf packs have been in shambles since. The killer is still at large - if you have any information on the estranged Huntress please send it through with your response to this letter - and we find ourselves strained with our responsibilities now we have our lunas gone. We cannot help our packs and hunt the killer for justice, there is too much ground to cover, and we cannot ask for you to turn your packs into our hunting grounds.

       So, we have called a meeting together and proposed a solution, and have sent out these letters to every shifter leader in our lands for help.

      The killer is ours to bring down - they killed our lunas, and they will suffer the greatest of deaths at our hands, but we cannot leave our packs alone while we hunt, not while the killer is at large.

      We ask that you send a representative of your packs; a preferred shifter of luna training, that would be able to handle the tasks required to become a Substitute Luna for a few months, while us Alphas hunt the killer down.

      They will need; to clean, cook, garden, be sociable, maternal, and experienced as a luna. Their kindness and quiet nature will be a blessing after all we have suffered recently, and we will be thankful for their immediate obedience.

We hope you can help, and we thank you for your wishes over these past few months.

If you've read the Before You Read - then you know that what they've asked for is the exact opposite of what they're gonna get.

NOTE;

In Etymology, the original terms for 'man' was were and 'woman' was wif, and 'Mann' itself being gender-neutral for human. We only see this applied now in midwife and werewolf (meaning man-wolf). Technically, this means a female werewolf would be called a wifewolf, to mean a woman-wolf, but I'm flipping tropes like pancakes here. 

In this book, werewolves  are patriarchal, run by the alpha males. Wolves in reality are always run by the alphas, but can be run by either female or male, but we're in a fictional book here. Because werewolf means man-wolf, I'm going with patriarchy, as it's in the name. 

However, Greta is a fox-shifter. Foxes, in reality, are matriarchal. So, I'm creating a term that'll be used in Luna Eclipse - wiffox; woman-fox. A fox shifter is called a wiffox regardless of gender, like how a wolf shifter is werewolf regardless, but because fox shifters are matriarchal, their alphas are female, their heirs are women, it's only fair it's in the name like it is with werewolf. 

So, prepare to meet Greta; your main character, red fox shifter, a wiffox, woman-fox, and an alpha.
