Christine lived in my home full-time now; leaving in the morning and coming home later in the evening.

I had lied to the Meg with a gun; I can cook and I can clean-though I hate cleaning. 

This was turning out to be a wonderful life for me.

It was late afternoon, and Christine and I were wandering around my underground lair. we weren't exactly bored, it was more of a companionable silence with nothing to do.

We came upon a room, one I hadn't seen or visited in a while. I didn't remember what was in it and Christine, being as curious as she is, insisted we investigate.

I still have not learned how to refuse her.

We went in the badly illuminated room. Christine stepped in further than I, going to a corner. She disappeared with a yelp. "Christine!" I called frantically. 

Then I remembered what this room was-It was my water-slide entrance.

I followed Christine down the slide.

As soon as I hit the water, I screamed. It was not a scream of terror, but one of excitement. 

I heard a splash and then Erik caught up to me on the slide. His arms wrapped around me, pulling me to him. 

This was so much fun!

We landed in the lake near Erik's home with a splash, going below the surface.

When we resurfaced, Erik pulled me to him and swam towards home. 

Once we had dried off, we sat by the fire to keep warm. 

We were seated opposite to each other, staring at the flames as they flickered.

In the glow of the fire, Erik looked so....Mysterious, yet gentle and loving.

He caught me looking at him and a heat rose to my cheeks. Suddenly, I had to look away.

I felt him sit beside me, pulling me into his lap. His mouth hovered at my ear, "Cold, Christine?"

It was such a silky purr that my face darkened and I suddenly felt too warm.

"N-no." I mumbled, looking at my hands.

I was definitely not cold anymore.
