Constellations

A/N: This one shot works best of the reader has acne of some kind. It doesn't really matter the severity of it. If you do have insecurities about your acne, know that you are beautiful and the condition of your skin does not define your beauty of worth.

The mirror stares back at you like a billboard of your insecurities. As you brush your hair, the red dots that speckle your face make you want to claw at your face until they're gone. But no. You know that would only make it worse. Loki is walking around in your room just outside the bathroom. You have both woken up quite recently. He still has a bit of bedhead. He's talking about your brunch date that the two of you are getting ready for, but you don't really hear him. Too focused on what you don't want him to see. You reach for your concealer and blender, feeling somewhat guilty that you hide your natural skin. "So this place we're going to, does it-" Loki trails off, noticing you standing still in front of the mirror. He frowns and walks behind you, putting his chin just above your shoulder. You are snapped from your trance when he walks in and you begin to open the makeup. Loki then wraps his cold hands around yours. He takes the makeup out of your hands and places it on the counter.

He wraps you in a soft embrace that engulfs you in warmth and comfort. He whispers so soft you think you might be imagining it. "You may not like what you see in the mirror, but darling, I do." He spins you around so that you face him. You're looking down, but he puts a knuckle on your chin and pulls up so that you are looking at him. His deep green eyes sparkle with tenderness and loving. He smiles softly at you. "Beautiful constellations dot your face. They make beautifully intricate patterns like stars in the sky," he says as he caresses your face. His smooth fingertips gloss the raised bumps across your face. An elegant green light follows wherever his fingers go. He then pulls his hand away and brings the light with him. It makes an intricate pattern of a star. You smile softly. Loki tugs at your face again.

"You, love, are my sky," he says tucking your hair behind your ear. There was something so beautiful about that statement that your eyes began to fill with tears. Loki notices and draws you closer. He puts one arm around your back, and the other strokes your hair. "Thank you, Loki," you whisper. Loki kisses you on the head. "Of course, love. Are you sure you still want to go to brunch? We could find something to do around her," he says with a tinge of mischief to his voice. You smile, as you want to stay, but know that you have to go. "Loki, we are having brunch with my parents. Maybe we shouldn't do that today," you say with a chuckle. Loki sinks a little, but does not argue. "Very well, but may I at least kiss that beautiful face of yours before we leave? If I don't I may not be able to contain myself."

You laugh, but move in for the kiss. It quickly turns passionate, with Loki putting his hands around your waist and just barely touching the skin beneath your shirt and your hands running through his jet black hair, the subtle touches making your skin burn with heat and longing. When you break the kiss, it's because you need to breathe. Loki touches his forehead to yours ever so gently. "You are the most beautiful thing I have ever laid eyes on. Do you understand that," he asked in a husky tone. I nodded and he smiled. "Good. Now as much as I hate to end this, we're already late, dear."
