Chapter 2 - Before It Happened
A lot of news has been circulating all over the world and there were a lot of effects that comes down with the lockdown of each country. With each day passes, it gets worser and the effects gets to the people. There were lots of robbery, a global financial crisis, shortage of food and water to some countries and many more.
Maria, my household keeper for almost 2 years, is starting to have a serious anxiety of what's happening to her children back in Spain, that she started to get a fever from it.
Sergio, upon sensing my fear of the children catching the illness, he voluntarily moved his mother on the other estate that has more guest rooms for a self-quarantine. Although I knew that the fever was not from the virus, I have to take precautions, as I have kids, BABIES, with me.
Meanwhile, Naeun, my 3 year old daughter was asking a lot of questions, why Maria is not going to live with us, or things she didn't understand that she gained from watching news on the tv. Which is why I stopped opening the news and changed it to the cartoons instead.
Right now, I'm the only one who's taking care of the whole household, or what the real estates brokers called La casa de Madera or just simply called as the Wooden Mansion. It was built on 1980's by my great grandfather who was an architect. He was a half Spanish and half kiwi descendant which runs up to my father, making ma also a ¼ Spanish and ¼ kiwi while half is Korean, which is my mom.
Then after years passed, it was slowly renovated to follow the latest trends in architecture style. The land area has 70+ acres while the mansion itself has 15k sq. feet. Its pretty big for a small family like us, but this house had a lot of histories and memories in it.
My father died when I was only 4 years old, so my older brother, Jooho decided to leave the New Zealand with my mother. I remember that there's an issue between my mom and grandfather - (father's side). And even though we had a lot of money being inherited from my father, my mom decided to return it back and fly to her hometown, South korea, where we started a new life.
However, when I was on my 6th grade, mom suddenly fainted due to the exhaustion, we quicly brought her to the hospital, thinking that it was only exhaustion, however, she was diagnosed with a bone cancer, a rare type, which affects her legs and arms, making it impossible to move. With no money and no savings, my brother stopped his college education and decided to focus looking for a job. I tried telling my brother that I will stop going to school to help but he was so against it, so I decided to do a lot of part time jobs while I'm at it.
And that's how I entered the kpop industry. At first, I entered it knowing there will be allowance that I could get off every month. Especially in YG, the training may be hard and harsh, but the pay is better than the other companies. However, after meeting a lot of people, gaining friends, being recognized by the trainers, I started to love it and dreamed on being a star someday.
A year passed and my mom is still on the hospital, receiving all the treatments and chemotherapies that she needed. But in the end.... She died, leaving us a huge amount of debts, my brother Jooho, didn't know what to do and I was heavily devastated with the loss. This was one of the hardest time where we only have each other to carry on and support each other.
However one day, he was scouted from a national team of football after watching his play on the city, and that's how we started to rise up again from the poverty. He was able pay up the debts left behind, started to support me with my chosen career and also my education. For a long time, he supported me, until I started to gain fame and money also when I debuted as an idol.
Back then, we were really famous as a siblings, although we become busy with each of our lives, we still don't forget to call sometime and check on each other. Then, when he introduces me his wife to be, Anna, a half Spanish and half german, who was a waitress on the café near in Germany where he had a game one time, I was more than happy to welcome her in the family. Finally, I would have a sister to look up.
They were the happiest when they were starting their family. We managed to hide the kids and his wife away from the paparazzi since Anna was a very private person. Nevertheless, they lived a happy life ahead.
But no one would've imagine the tragedy that will happen soon.
