As soon as my eyes flickered open, I wanted to shut and squeeze them down. I didn't want this situation to be real, it feels like were playing on one of the movies that has a zombies or something like that.

For the past 4 weeks, the world has been suffering from the crisis due to the coronavirus, also called, Covid-19. The number of cases of COVID-19 outside China has increased 13-fold, and the number of affected countries has tripled.

"Mommy! Wake up!!", a three year old girl jumps one me, forcing me to get myself out of the bed which I grudgingly left.

"Up!up!" she held her tiny arms signaling me to carry her over and walk over to our living area. I'm not really a morning person, but it changes when you have KIDS living with you.

"Here's your tea, ma'am" my housemaid, Maria handed my usual green tea while I sat down to one of the couches and opened the tv to watch the news.

"Every citizen is obliged to stay at home. There are several people who have been infected with the coronavirus in the past 24 hours. And in order to stop the spread, no one is allowed leave their homes. The international flights have canceled and the Lockdown on the country has already activated."

"Good thing, the government quickly responded to this case and issued a lockdown all over the country." A thick Spanish accent commented, while he entered with the groceries in hand.

"Did you managed to buy everything Sergio?" Maria went to help her son, as I still sat on my sofa with Naeun, my 3 year old daughter, cradle in my arms.

"That hijo de puta viruse! I almost slam my face on wheel, when I saw that there were a lot of people hoarding to the stores. And the lines to the cashiers? Too long!! Mierda!" Sergio cusses in his mother language while his mother maria hit him down pointing to me who was listening.

"Sorry for the trouble Sergio," I muttered an apology to him while he awkwardly scratches his head, "I already said that I was going to do the shopping but I guess I slept too late."

Sergio waves his hands, "No worries, Jennie. I knew that you wouldn't handle it anyways. Its too dangerous to go outside right now." He returned from the garage with some more groceries in hand.

"I think this should be able to last over a week." I walked over the kitchen counter and helped them to sort out the groceries.

"Are you kidding me? I almost hoarded the whole mart and you even have a lot of foods and other necessities stored in your basement." Sergio chuckles,

"Well we never know, how long the quarantine lockdown is gonna last." Maria responded, while opening some cereals and prepared a quick breakfast for Naeun, who keeps on bugging me to eat it.

"But I think it won't really last that long.." he replied back. Sergio always refuses to think that the virus is threatening and dangerous. He claims that he will never EVER gonna die just because of this virus and his mother Maria was mores scary than the virus which he always got hits from her mother's spatula.

"There are now more than 1,118,106 cases in 205 countries, and 59,207 people have lost their lives. Right now in New Zealand Dr Ashley Bloomfield, Minister of health, confirmed there are 82 new cases of Covid-19, 52 confirmed and 30 probable, bringing the total to 950."

"950 cases!?" Maria joined us after finishing her tasks.

"In the days and weeks ahead, we expect to see the number of cases, the number of deaths, and the number of affected countries climb even higher. World health Organization or WHO has been assessing this outbreak around the clock and we are deeply concerned both by the alarming levels of spread and severity, and by the alarming levels of inaction.

We have therefore made the assessment that COVID-19 can be characterized as a pandemic.

Pandemic is not a word to use lightly or carelessly. It is a word that, if misused, can cause unreasonable fear, or unjustified acceptance that the fight is over, leading to unnecessary suffering and death.

Describing the situation as a pandemic does not change WHO's assessment of the threat posed by this virus. It doesn't change what WHO is doing, and it doesn't change what countries should do.

We have never before seen a pandemic sparked by a coronavirus. This is the first pandemic caused by a coronavirus."

"I told you, this is more serious than what you thought Sergio." I tried proving my point to the older guy while he nodded his head in understanding.

Maria suddenly tapped my shoulder, "Have you already watched the update on your home country?" I shook my head signaling no, and she quickly changes the channel to the KBS NEWS.

"Over 10,000 people in South Korea have so far tested positive for coronavirus, the country's health officials announced Friday.

Officials at the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said 86 new cases were diagnosed Thursday, bringing the national tally to 10,062.

The death toll rose to 175 after five more people died of COVID-19, according to Yonhap News Agency.

The news agency said that the Southeast Asian country may extend its social distancing measures amid surge in infections.

Seoul launched the two-week campaign on March 22, urging people to keep a safe distance from each other by putting off all meetings, avoiding crowds and working from home."

"Oh my god...10,00 cases? What's happening in the world?" I quickly went back to my room and entered the digits.

"Who's calling her now at this time of the hour?" I look at the wall clock, saying its 9:00 am then counted the time backwards for the timezone in Korea.

"It should be 6am in the morning back there, I wonder if Unnie has a schedule this early." I muttered in my breath, so I quickly type a message and put my phone on my pocket.

"kuku....kuku!!" I heard a gargling noises inside the crib that is right beside my bed. I walked to it and looked inside the crib.

"Are you awake my baby? Are you hungry now?" I cooed to him as he showed me his cute smile while waving his little arms upside urging me to carry him.

"kuku!! Kuku!!" Axciel, my 14 month old baby started to fuss around when I held him, signaling that it was time for the feed.

"alright lil buddy, lets get your tummy filled up, shall we?"

I returned back to the living area. And quickly made some formula milk.

"Por Dios Santo!" I heard Maria from the living room and saw her making a sign of the cross while watching the news.

"What happened?" I sat back and placed the bottled milk on Axciel lips, quickly drinking all of it.

"A record 950 people have died from coronavirus in Spain in the space of 24 hours, lifting the country's death toll to 10,003 from 9,053.

"I want to go home!", Maria quickly stands up and starts to panic, "I want to see my family! If im going to die, at least I die in my country! With my family!"

"Ma! Calm down. Por Favor!" Sergio went after his mother. "Its already lockdown now ma, we cannot travel anymore especially the flights!"

"But your hermanos and hermanas! I'm getting worried sick. They haven't replied my calls back before..."

Sergio hugs his mom while soothing her back "I will call them back mama, please cálmate, its not good for your heart..."

Sensing a bad atmosphere, axciel starts to cry while Naeun, scoots closer to me, "Mommy, what's happening? Why is she crying?"

I hugged them close, trying to dissipate the fear that is enclosing to me. I may look strong on the outside, but on the inside, I have a lot of fears, especially from the pandemic happening outside.
