I yawned and sat up in my mothers nest. I looked around and to my surprise i was the first awake. I reached over Goldenkit and was soon clawing my way slowly to the exit. I breathed a sigh of relief when i made it to the exit. I didn't want the others following me to the special hiding place i happily stepped out but then there was a loud CRACK! under my paws. I looked down horrified to find a twig. I was soon tumbled over by Spritekit who was a light sleeper.  " what are you doing Lightningkit?" she looked at me suspiciously we were complete opposites. I was never the first one up and i was a heavy sleeper Spritekit on the other hand woke up at the lightest sound and was generally the first one up. I groaned " I was uh- going to have a look at uh- Herbs!" Spritekit bowled over laughing. She muttered Mouse-brain under her breath " Give it up Lightningkit everyone knows my Brother is going to be a medicine cat!" I hissed at her . "  that's not true Bigkit is going to be a warrior with the rest of us!" I jumped at her full of rage. Spritekit was surprised by my sudden movement and couldn't scramble away quick enough. " Your terrible just because he is blind doesn't mean he can't be a fantastic warrior better then you could at least!" My claws dug into her shoulders. She began wailing and crying under the grip of my claws. I retracted my claws and saw i accidentally dug them in to deep her right shoulder had small claw marks and small drops of blood were dripping down. I looked at my claws horrified I didn't want to hurt Spritekit. Soon the whole nursery was awake and her mother came bawling out along with Tinykit and Bigkit. Fallengorse looked like she was going to faint. She came and covered Spritekit with licks " its ok darling your going to be ok it doesn't look that bad." her wailing continued. i looked down at my claws and noticed her small drops of blood just on the tips. Soon my mother came out and looked at me Tinykit and Bigkit were still half asleep but i was clearly wide awake. She came over to me Goldenkit looking smug behind her. "Lightningkit of all cats!" Fallengorse had picked up Spritekit her brothers following her into the medicine den. " I'd expect this from your sister but you?" I looked down ashamed " she was saying Bigkit couldn't be a warrior!"  Honeybolt looked at me her anger not eased " there was no need to attack her Lightningkit go back into the nursery and No dinner for you!" I trudged into the nursery my tail dragging along the ground picking up dust. I curled into a tight ball and listened as Calmkit woke up she looked over at me disgusted " honestly Lightningkit you knew better." i didn't respond i just stared at the stale moss in my nest. Featherkit smirked from his nest with Calmkit. I listened as everyone left to attend the morning duties and as i stayed here my belly rumbled.
