twenty eight.
The next day they had came up with a plan once Voight and Antonio went to talk to the boss of Narcotics. They had set up their own stash house to try and lead the suspects in. Waiting for whoever to strike again. All of them had set places to be and roles given. Hailey, Kevin, and Adam were going to be stationed in their normal suited up selves. While Jay was dressed as a homeless guy in the parking lot. Pru was up in an apartment room as a civilian. A bullet proof best under her hoodie and gun hidden under as well. Hank and Al were in the van in the parking lot, staked out and waiting.
"Wow, Halstead. Playing a homeless man adds character to you. The look is fantastic. But, 'O' definitely plays the part better." Pru teased over the mic.
"Affirmative." Olinsky agreed over the comms as Pru laughed.
"Haha. You're hilarious." Jay mocked.
"Right, let me know when everyone's cozy." Hank radioed.
"Copy that." Adam responded.
"Boss. We're all set." Adam radioed.
"Same here, all cozy." Hailey said.
"I'm ready to roll." Pru announced as she looked out the apartment window.
"Right. What about you, Jay?" Voight questioned.
"Yeah, I'm good to go." Jay responded.
"Copy that." They all sat in position, waiting for a word on any people who stood out. Potentially the suspects they were trying to catch.
"Got two male Hispanics, 20s, dark clothing. Look like they're wearing ski masks. One of them has something in their pocket. These are our guys." Jay told them of the two men.
"We wait for them to hit that door." Hank instructed. Adam and Kev got ready in position with their guns. Hailey opened up her apartment door as Pru slowly opened up hers to get eyes on the men. Guns down by their sides as they peered down the floor.
"Hailey, you say when." Voight said. Hailey and Pru shared a look with each other from across the way as Pru nodded.
"Not yet. Hang tough." Hailey peered again. Then the men entered the apartment Ruzek and Atwater were in as gun shots started to echo. They rolled in on the guys taking them down. Hank and Al checked if everything was alright to which they nodded.
"The guy inside is down. He's not getting back up, not ever." Adam informed them of the first offender that went down. Pru had bent down next to the other one to find a pulse.
"This one's still alive." Pru announced.
"5021 George. Shots fired by police. Roll an ambo to 3627 West 47th Street. We got multiple offenders down." Jay radioed in.

"No wonder why he gave me bad information. He planted the heroin in the house. How did I not see that?" Adam let out. Feeling ashamed of how blind he had been when it came to Ray Denza. Kev, Adam, and Pru made their way down the hall to Ray's apartment, ready to bust him for all of the rips.
"Trying to help a brother out." Kev tried to defend.
"Yeah, like an idiot." Adam commented.
"No. You tried to see the good. And you wanted to believe in him. You're not a complete idiot." Pru told Adam. He knocked on the door before raising his gun. The door opened to reveal a women.
"Where is he?" Adam snapped as the three officers made their way into the apartment.
"He's gone." The women said.
"Where is he? Ray!" Kev yelled.
"I don't know. I swear! Okay, he came this morning. He was all freaked out. He packed a bag and said he was never coming back." The women said. Pru looked at Adam and Kev before heading to the door to close it.

"So you don't know where he is or how to find him? He never mentioned any of his getaways to hide out for a few days before?" Pru questioned the girl who was dating Ray.
"No. I don't know anything. He just left." The girl responded.
"You understand as soon as the cartel finds out who's behind this, they're gonna hang your man under a bridge unless you help us find him." Kev brought up.
"Ray is a grown-aśs man, okay? He's gotta life with the decisions he's made." The women replied.
"That's cold as hell." Kev stayed.
"I'm just telling you how it is." The girl commented.
"You know, Crystal, I know you think you can tie this off, move on, find another dude, but in here to tell you, it's not that simple. You see, you've been helping a drug dealer and a murderer." Adam approached them brunette women.
"So that means you're really partners in crime because you'll face felony conspiracy charges. So, sweet cheeks. You either help us or we take you down to the district to process you." Pru gave an ultimatum to Crystal. The girl sighed, giving in.
"His grandfather had a boat in a boatyard in China town. He keeps it there in the winter. Ray sleeps there sometimes." Crystal told them.
"You telling the truth?" Adam questioned.
"Yes." She snapped back. The officers gave one last look before quickly exiting the apartment with a new lead of information on Ray's potential whereabouts.

The three sat out in their undercover car as they kept their eyes out for Ray. Adam had taken a call with Voight while Kevin used binoculars to scan their surroundings. Pru sat in the back with her eyes on the entrance of the boatyard.
"Yeah, copy that, boss. We'll sit tight. Alright." Adam ended the call as he shoved his phone away.
"Don't get too comfortable. They're ten minutes out." Adam informed them.
"Copy that."
"Guys. There's Ray." Pru pointed out the man who jumped out of a boat.
"We can't let him get in that car, dog." Kev told them as Ray headed towards a pickup truck. Adam pressed on the gas once he put the car into drive to move in on Ray.
The man began to run away as the three exited the car. Running after Ray, the three split up to cut him off. Pru kept her gun close to her as she crept around the boatyard. Peering behind different boats, the girl heard commotion as Kev hit the ground a few yards away after Ray hit him. The girl creeped around to get a view from behind as Adam aimed his gun at Ray.
"You know the drill. Nice and easy, keep your hands where I can see them." Adam instructed as Pru neared Ray.
"Come on, Adam. It's not even what you think. Just turn around and look the other way. You'll never see me again." Ray begged.
"Get on your knees." Adam demanded and Ray began to move in on Adam, calling him bluff. Pru followed the man and got close enough to make him stop when he felt the barrel of the gun on the back of his head.
"Get on your knees." Pru repeated Adam's words as Ray breathed out. Kev founded the corner with his gun raised cautiously at Ray. The man slowly got to his knees, letting them meet the gravel lot ground.
"See, Ray. I don't usually break my promises." Pru told him as she holstered her gun and let Kev take the man towards the cat to wait for the rest of the team to arrive. Pru walked over to Adam and put a hand on his shoulder.
"It's okay, Adam. Lets go." She ushered him with her as she wrapped her arm around his in a comforting way. Pru knew he took it personal because he felt like he was one of the reasons why Ray turned out the way he did. But it wasn't Adam's fault.

Pru had stayed late at Natalie's while the doctor went to meet Will out for dinner and drinks. The girl was more than willing to stay and watch Owen. He was such a little sweetheart.
The blonde had gotten him fed then it was an easy task for him to fall asleep. Being able to sit down on the couch with the television on a low volume and the monitor close by on the coffee table just incase Owen started to cry or needed something. The girl was getting tired when she heard the door open and then she saw Natalie Manning's face. Sadness was painted all over it as she headed into the room. Pru shuffled off the couch in concern as the brunette threw her jacket down.
"Hey, what's wrong? I figured you'd be out a bit later than just 9:30." Pru questioned the women.
"It seems so childish. But, Will and I were just taking some time away from each other. I really just wanted some space. And he told me that he made out with someone else last night. He went home with her too, but he swears he just fell asleep on her couch." Natalie explained as some years streamed down her face. Pru pulled the girl into a hug as she rubbed her back.
"Nat. That feeling is terrible, I know it is. But do you feel like there could have been a miscommunication somewhere between the lines." Pru began as Natalie looked at her.
"I know almost all men are pretty much stupid with these things. But Will is like, in love with you. I know he wouldn't do anything to jeopardize what he has with you. Not intentionally. Will is a good guy and he cares. And you two can get through this." Pru told Nat who sent a small smile her way.
"It just hurts a little bit." Nat admitted.
"And sometimes it will hurt. But if you really believe in a love like this, time will make sure you both end up together. Even if there's a lot of complications and road bumps. What's meant to be will be as long as you believe in it." Pru said.
"Do you believe in that?" Natalie asked and Pru smiled in response at the doctor.
"I do."
