The night her kits come. And the night of her choice. But she will have one. Her kit could never know her mother... she can only know the one who's taking care of her.

" Streamwood." She whispered.

"Yes leafbreeze?" Streamwood asked.

"I need your help. I can't do this in the nursery. I have to keep at least one. I need my sister can you please do this for me?" She asked pleadingly.

"Yes I can leafbreeze I will get Roseheart. Jaywing cannot know. You want to keep one of your kits don't you? And give up the other one?" Streamwood asked

She nodded and Streamwood left the den her kits sleeping in the nest.

Once Streamwood came back with Roseheart they went to the forest quickly. In the middle of the night. Halfmoon was watching Streamwood ' s kits.

"here let's stop here Raggedleaf is here." She meowed. Just as she said that Raggedleaf appeared behind the bushes.

"Are you sure you want this?" He asked.

"Positive. Now you take the two Streamwood will care for our one kit." She meowed groaning as the kits started to come.

"It's alright sis you can do this!" Roseheart murmured. The second kit was coming. The first kit was a she-cat. And this one was a tom. And then another she-cat.

"You did a beautiful job leafbreeze. I love you always." Raggedleaf purred licking her head.

"I love you. I don't want to give you up." She murmures. Her kits suckling at her stomach.

"What Shall we name them?" He asked.

"This one is Windkit." She meowed pointing to the tom.

" this one is Sunkit. The one I'll keep." She murmured.

"And she will be Breezekit." Raggedleaf purred.

" take care of them please. I love them." She murmrued. Wrapping her tail protectively around them.

They will never know who their mother was and how great she was to protect them forever. I will always be watching over you three kits. I love you all. Especially you my love Raggedleaf the one who will take care of Windkit and Breezekit. Streamwood who will care for Sunkit. I will mentor her... so she knows how loving and caring I have been for her.

"Leafbreeze it's time to go. You have to give them up." Roseheart murmured.

"I don't want to. But I know I have to. Take care of my kits. Both of you." She meowed looking at both of her friends and her mate.

"I will always care for them." Raggedleaf purred.

"They can never know I was their mother." She meowed grieveing.

"I will care for sunkit. Don't worry leafbreeze." Streamwood murmured.

Raggedleaf took Windkit and Breezekit and he licked her head for one final farwell. Streamwood took sunkit in the other direction towards home. Roseheart stayed with her.

"I'm sorry you had to give then up. They will love you Sis." Roseheart murmured. She nodded and they stayed their for a while until she decided to leave the clearing. Streamwood and Raggedleaf probably told their clans about them. So she snuck into camp to the warriors den. In her old nest.

Moons passed and she'd watch sunkit grow into a wonderful kit. She became her apprentice. Pollenfoot was retiring today at sun high. Ravenstar made it clear that she wanted leafbreeze to be deputy and not twilightwing.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the highrock!" Ravenstar yowled.

The clan started to gather and pollenfoot was next to ravenstar as well as her self. She looked down at the clan and saw her sisters and twilightwing glaring at her.

" I have gathered you all here for naming a new deputy. I'm sure you all know that pollenfoot is getting old he has requested that he'd become an elder." Ravenstar meowed.

" So I have chosen my new deputy already. There was a decision between Twilightwing and leafbreeze." She meowed.

The clans Whispers rang around the clearing.

" Leafbreeze can't become deputy! She had kits! What happened to them anyways?" Some cat yowled.

Ravenstar ignored the yowled and Whispers from the clan.

"I have made my final decision and Pollenfoot agrees with this. I have chosen leafbreeze to be the next deputy of thunderclan." Ravenstar meowed.

"I am pleased to see that such a young warrior be the next leader. Ravenstar has made the right choice. And I hope starclan agrees with her choice." Pollenfoot meowed.

She dipped her head to the old deputy and she touched noses with her leader and licked her shoulder I'm respect.

" I'm proud to be the next deputy of thunderclan. I haven't told you what happened to my kits. But they died when I gave birth. I'm guessing that they weren't meant to be born.. but I will always love them. I hope they're looking down on me. With my mother and my sister." Leafbreeze meowed.

She glanced at her apprentice Sunpaw who was staring proudly at her mentor.

"Leafbreeze! Leafbreeze!" Sunpaw started the chant and soon her clanmates joined in. But she noticed that twilightwing has disappeared in sheer anger.

She saw her sister Halfmoon who finally left her nest from her newborn kits. Halfmoon had four kits dovekit, firekit, crowkit and Lucakit.

When Streamwood had found Sunpaw she told the story of how a kittypet mother gave up her kit. So her clanmates think her kit is a kittypet.

"Tonight is a gathering. Are you ready for this leafbreeze?" Ravenstar asked.

"Yes im ready." She meowed.

her clanmates gathered the young warriors lionsong, goldenleaf, Sunfish, Shadowstep, burningleaf didn't go because he has greencough. Starfur.. the elders the medicine cats. Jaywing and Roseheart.

They ran in the forest towards the island. They came across windclan. Adderstar retired from leadership. And her mate Raggedstar was leading his clan. She saw her kits. Roseheart stepped in besides her.

"Looks like your kits are going to be the perfect warriors of windclan." Roseheart whispered.

"Yes they're." She murmured. Halfmoon decided not to come cause she didn't want to leave her kits.

Breezepaw and Windpaw. Too bad they didn't get to see Thunderclan who they really are.

"Hey look at those apprentices Sunpaw! They look great!" Seapaw mewed.

"Oh shut up Seapaw!" Sunpaw squealed. The two she-cats got into a play fight.

Leafbreeze broke it up.

"Hey that's enough! Don't need to fight. And plus it's a truce you two! Behave or you'll be sent home!" She scolded.

"Sorry leafbreeze!" They meowed.

"Hey who knew thunderclan would be the first to break the truce!" Some windclan cat yowled.

"Don't even get involved!" Ravenstar called over her shoulder.

Because leafbreeze noticed that Lionsong wanted to call back a remark but shut his mouth. She purred.

"Hey theirs a purr from leafbreeze!" Roseheart purred.

" What do you mean?" She asked innocently.

" You've been so down in the dumps since you lost your kits and I haven't seen you this happy in moons." Roseheart meowed. She caught a glance from Raggedstar his eyes full of worry.

"Breezepaw! Watch out!" Windpaw yowled. She glanced over at the apprentice who slipped. Leafbreeze caught the apprentice and helped her up.

"Thanks." Breezepaw mewed.

"No problem." She nodded. And the apprentice scampered off.

"Thanks for saving her. I don't know what I'd do with out her." Raggedstar murmured.

Her ears twitched and she nodded. Then she jumped up after Ravenstar.

Why would he do that? I told him that we can't even make eye contact or they will suspect! You mouse-brain! But it was great to hear him. I love him too much. Wait till her clan hears about this and they'll surely kick her out. Then twilightwing would become deputy... she shook her head.

Snap out of it! It was just one stupid mistake I doubt it'll happen again!
They have reached the island. All the clans gather here at full moon.

My first gathering as a deputy.. I'm glad I got to see my kits. Raggedstar and Grayleaf are great together.. Taking care of windpaw and breezepaw.

" what's wrong leafbreeze? I know you saw your kits tonight. Breezepaw. The one you saved.. She was yours wasn't she?" Ravenstar meowed as they stopped at the edge of the island

"Yes breezepaw is my kit as well as sunpaw and windpaw. I'm sorry I lied it was the best way to keep them safe." She meowed. Bowing her head in sorrow.

Ravenstar put her tail on leafbreeze's shoulder. "It's okay you are forgiven. But I'm not sure starclan will. But will you forgive yourself?" The thunderclan leader asked and she gave the signal to head down to the island.

"I can't wait for this leafbreeze!" Sunpaw meowed excitedly.

" Stop jumping up in the air you'd make a fool of yourself!" Leafbreeze scolded.

"Sorry!" Sunpaw mewed.

" come on sunpaw! Let's go meet some of the apprentices!" Seapaw meowed
Sunpaw looked up at leafbreeze as if waiting permission to go. She sighed and nodded.

"Go on you two." She purred nudging sunpaw to go run off.

She followed Ravenstar to the tree.
" you have to let sunpaw go at some point. shes not a kit anymore." Ravenstar murmured.

" how could a mother let her own kit go? The clan believes that she's a kitty pet when Streamwood came along with her. And the clan believed it." She whispered.

" and you'd have to tell them at some point.your kits and your clan." Ravenstar meowed.
She nodded and she sat her place among the other deputies. She scanned the crowd for her apprentice seeing she was getting along with windpaw and breezepaw. She purred with relief.

She noticed that raggedstar was watching her she caught his eye and he looked away.

Stupid furball can't take his eyes off of me... Why can't he just see that we can't be together anymore? He's clan leader and I'm clan deputy soon to be leader... But Ravenstar is right I do have to tell my kits at some point. But that last dream I had.. Of sootpaw telling me that I needed to wait until my final breath to make my wish what does that mean? I haven't even told anyone yet. How will I know what my wish is? Sootpaw can't possibly know that... With all these questions in mind I didn't know who to go to. I might go to Roseheart then..

"Let us all gather under the stars to hear what each of us has to say! Now is the time to start." She heard Mallowstar call the gathering to start.

"I will start first. We have two new apprentices farrowpaw and sagepaw." Mallowstar meowed.
